Wouldn’t let me open the app without having me to pay for a yearly subscription for 80 dollars

**Developer response:** Hi! Just to clarify, you don’t have to pay $80 to try Verbi. We offer a 3-day free trial with access to the app, and you won’t be charged if you cancel before it ends. Our AI tutor has a real cost every time it’s used, so we unfortunately can’t offer unlimited access completely free, but we cover that cost during the trial so you can try Verbi before paying.

I was expecting more from this app. I did a Spanish speaking lesson, I said exactly the same words it was showing in the list before start and it kept saying all the time that the words were wrong, and saying different words.

If you were saying the correct Spanish words and they were consistently being marked as incorrect or recognized as completely different words, that’s not the experience we want. We’re actively improving our speech recognition and pronunciation evaluation to make it more accurate and forgiving of different accents.

I wish i could remove the vosotros part of learning. My family and friends do not use vosotros so it feels pointless to practice. Otherwise it would be great

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! This is a great suggestion. We know vosotros isn’t commonly used in many Spanish-speaking regions, especially Latin America. We’re working on giving learners more control over regional Spanish and the vocabulary and conjugations they practice. Thanks for helping us improve Verbi!

This app is fun and engaging especially the speaking feature but it takes forever after giving a response in the speaking section. Not sure if it’s a bug or the AI model they use is extremely slow. If they made the app faster (and also cheaper) I would try again.

We recently experienced a massive spike in users that temporarily overloaded our servers, which caused slower AI responses and delays in speaking lessons. We’ve since resolved the issue and performance should be much faster now. We’d love for you to give Verbi another try, and we appreciate you flagging this!

The concept is nice, but unfortunately in the speaking / interactive lessons, the words are never given in italian. eg it asks you "come si dice "ticket" in italiano" and you say "Biglino". It says something like "Quasi, la parola è giusta ma la pronuncia è "ticket", ripeti con me "ticket". It does not manage to fill in the words in italian. Also the voice recognition could be improved. 

Maybe when these bugs are fixed....

L’app aurait etait mieux si l’app aurait un système de traduction car tout est en anglais et on peut pas apprendre l’anglais si on est français

The app works good, but the AI constantly say that I’m saying wrong when I know that I’m not considering that I’ve been taking Spanish classes for a few years now and I know my pronunciation isn’t incorrect. The app also costs a good amount of money for what it’s worth when popular and just as good apps are cheaper if not free.

The AI pronunciation detection isn’t perfect, and we’re actively working on improving cases where correct pronunciation is mistakenly flagged as incorrect. We also appreciate your feedback on the pricing. I like that there’s different sections for concepts you want to master like Vocab or grammar. You can even have real conversations through text or speaking. However, and the biggest drawback, is there’s no formal teaching of conjugations or grammar rules. This is highly important when learning a language so you’re left with taking quizzes without even learning the foundational knowledge to answer correctly which is very frustrating. Overall, an okay language app

I purchased this app last week, it would be great if it didn’t make you repeat the same lessons over and over… I can’t work out how to fix it and it’s quite annoying so I will be deleting it unfortunately

Look I get it that apps are always trying to make money for their hard work. But I don’t even bother if an app forces the immediate subscription onto me even if it’s a free trial cause now I have to pay attention before it charges me. 

Look I would love to try this app out if it has a proper you get to experience the first couple lessons or features before I hand my card over to you. Because words don’t mean anything if I can’t experience it personally.

The main feature of Verbi is AI-powered speaking practice, and every conversation has a significant cost for us to provide. Because of that, we aren't able to offer unlimited free usage. Instead, we offer a free trial so you can experience the full app before deciding whether it's right for you.

We also understand that people sometimes forget to cancel a trial. If that happens, we've enabled refunds through Apple for eligible cases, so users aren't left without options.

If you decide to give Verbi a try and your experience is different from what you expected, we'd love to hear your thoughts. And if this clears up your concerns, we'd really appreciate it if you'd consider updating or removing your review, it would mean a lot to our small team.

The app worked when i first downloaded it. It spoke to me in Italian, which is what I wanted. And every time after that it just spoken in English and I couldn’t get it to speak to me in Italian even after deleting the app and re-downloading it again, it still doesn’t work. It looks like a great app if it could function properly. I would’ve been happy to pay for it but the settings need to be updated so you can customise it better.  It doesn’t hold many vocabulary words which is super annoying. The idea of the features are great. But it definitely needs A LOT of improvement before anyone should pay the asking price (which is just ridiculous) for an app that doesn’t function well.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! We think there may have been some confusion caused by a recent update to the curriculum.

In the latest version, the AI intentionally speaks in English during the first two beginner modules. We received a lot of feedback from new learners that jumping straight into the target language was overwhelming, so we added a gentler introduction. After the second module, the lessons are conducted entirely in the language you're learning.

If you'd prefer to start speaking Italian right away, you can also use our Custom Scenarios feature, where you can have conversations with the AI in Italian from the very beginning.

We really appreciate your comments about vocabulary and customization as well, those are both areas we're actively improving. Thanks again for giving Verbi a try, and we hope you'll consider trying the latest version!

Você é obrigado a fazer um teste grátis para poder usar o aplicativo, não é enviado aviso de término do período grátis e eles cobram o maior valor de pacote que tem! Não caiam nesse golpe!

Como explicamos no e-mail enviado, verificamos em nosso sistema que os lembretes sobre o término do período gratuito foram enviados por e-mail e por notificação antes da cobrança. Também não cobramos um valor diferente do apresentado: todos os pagamentos e cobranças são processados diretamente pela Apple.

I really like the concept of this app, but the voice recognition is too inconsistent. I often pronounce a word the same way twice. The first time, it tells me it’s incorrect, but when I repeat the exact same pronunciation, it suddenly accepts it as correct. Because of this, I waste most of the 3-minute voice practice repeating words that I already pronounced correctly. As a result, I can’t finish the lesson or unlock the next level. The 3-minute limit is simply not enough when the app keeps asking you to repeat the same words. I hope the developers improve the voice recognition and either extend or remove the time limit.

Stürzt die ganze Zeit ab, hat die ganze Zeit Verbindung ble, und die Lektionen können nicht abgeschlossen werden, weil mitten in der Lektion keine Reaktion der mehr kommt

Clearly vibe coded for the most part and not ready for release. The voice chat is great especially when it’s on “mean” mode but the listening mode is, quite simply, surprisingly bad. I still think it will be better than Duolingo but they have some work to do.

They took 49.99, I explained that I didn’t meant to keep the subscription and tried to explain it to apple but nothing.
Not an app to use and apple did what it does best. Taking money away.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry about this. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple, so we cannot approve or deny them ourselves. We enable refunds in cases like accidentally forgetting to cancel a trial, but Apple reviews the customer’s account and refund history and makes the final decision. Unfortunately, we have no control over their decision.

vocês são muito burros de fazer um aplicativo que precisa preencher um monte de coisa pra só no final de tudo informar que só consegue fazer o uso de 3 dias grátis após inserir o cartão. a pessoa nem conhece o aplicativo pq já tem que inserir logo de cara os dados. vocês nem dão a chance de sequer conhecer o app que vocês demoraram pra criar. muito sem sentido. estão perdendo dinheiro

it does not hear what i say at all. just one mistake and one ok, then it proceeds. rubbish.

Full of errors, instead of teaching me the language I want, it asks me to learn the one I know.

I really wanted to enjoy this app but a couple of things make it incredibly frustrating. AI model is not understanding the audio and the response time is RIDICULOUSLY slow. It shouldn’t take 10-15 seconds to respond and count against my 3 min time limit.

Todos os áudios soam mais robóticos que Google Tradutor. Os planos são a maior bagunça que já vi na minha vida - “Weekly Pro” e “Pro Weekly”, ambos com preços diferentes. O mau caráter que ter força a fazer um teste grátis de três dias mas só te dá a opção de assinar o plano anual, mesmo existindo planos mensais e semanais é bizarro.

Também agradecemos o comentário sobre os áudios. Estamos constantemente melhorando as vozes e a experiência de conversação do Verbi para que soem cada vez mais naturais.

Sobre o comentário de “mau caráter”, respeitamos sua opinião, mas não acreditamos que oferecer o teste grátis apenas no plano anual seja uma prática injusta. O objetivo do teste é justamente permitir que você experimente o Verbi antes de pagar, e oferecemos essa possibilidade gratuitamente por 3 dias, algo que muitas assinaturas nem sequer oferecem. Caso prefira não utilizar o teste, o plano semanal continua disponível como alternativa.

why is no one talking about this app?! i love how you can change the way your instructor talks to you. the mean setting it’s hilarious 😆 it’s actually correcting me and helping me learn faster. i feel like i’m talking to a native. i’m way more excited about learning a new language and being constant now!

I enjoy using this app, and it does some things other apps don’t do. But you very time ai try to open it after the first time it’s been opened, it just gives me a black white screen. Crashed, or something?

I don’t even write reviews but I had to say that I just got this like 20 minutes ago, but the swipe feature for new vocab literally takes away all anxiety stemming from the desire to swipe. And I just did a crossword (that it generated based on the new words it introduced to me— which said I knew and wanted to know), and idk why it works so well but I’m immediately amazed at how successful I ACTUALLY am at eventually deciphering the words I literally JUST learned. I’m just getting started. Looks like an app that is ACTUALLY WORTH PAYING FOR

I’m loving the app so far it’s super fun to learn Japanese and pretty helpful but it’ll randomly read “category not found” and I can’t learn anything and it won’t go away with refreshing the app. So I have to deleted and redownloaded it and it restarted my progress which is so annoying. Help fix this please 🙏
