### 4/5 — Bug ou pas??

*2025-02-09*

Hi, thank you for your report. You need to delete the document.bib file if you want to use two .tex files. Please note that the .bib also counts as a document. Please contact us directly if you need help.

### 2/5 — Cannot clone git

*2024-08-01, version 3.5.3*

Invalid login creds even though the user and password are correct

### 5/5 — Great app with very helpful developer

*2024-07-16, version 3.5.2*

Lovely app for editing and processing latex projects on the go. Better suited to small projects, but larger ones can be handled with a bit of care. The developer responds to queries really fast and is very helpful. I really recommend this app to anyone needing to process latex projects on their iPad.

### 2/5 — Does not work with subfiles package!

*2024-06-03*

I’ve unlocked the pro version to edit an existing project on the iPad. Sadly it doesn’t work with the subfiles package, so this is completely useless for me.

**Developer response:** Thank your for your report. You can check all available packages in the free version of the app. Please contact us directly if you need help.

### 4/5 — Un ottimo supporto

*2024-04-22, version 3.5.1*

### 2/5 — It works

*2024-04-18, version 3.4.9*

It works, but it is missing two features that I think are essential: you cannot view the PDF and the source at the same time, and you cannot work on source files saved in other apps’ shared file systems.

### 5/5 — Klasse

*2024-03-18*

### 5/5 — Great application.

*2023-08-20, version 3.3.4*

Excellent and simple application for creating documents on the go when there is access to mobile data or WiFi.

### 4/5 — Excellent, web-dependent LaTeX editor/compiler

*2023-06-23, version 3.3.4*

This app does everything I want, as long as you have web-access to compile the code into PDFLaTeX. It’s small, light-weight (40M) and good context-highlighting.

My only gripe is that the font/contrast is too small/too light. I need to maximise font-size for the entire iPad to get the text readable in VerbTeX with my old-geek eyes. Some in-app control of the fonts would make a lovely addition to the “settings” of this app.

### 4/5 — Très satisfait

*2023-05-20*

Cordialement.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. In Local Mode you can put all custom packages inside your project folder. VerbTeX will use these packages every time you generate a PDF. Please contact us directly if you need help.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2023-04-11*

I love it. Hadly to believe it‘s free ans especially, that it works so well.

Thank you so much <3

### 5/5 — Perfetta

*2022-11-19, version 3.2.9*

Editor latex che fa il suo dovere

### 4/5 — Buena, más no excelente.

*2022-07-14, version 3.2.8*

### 3/5 — Good but

*2022-07-05, version 3.2.8*

I cant inset images in my latex project with verb tex

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hidden restriction

*2026-07-03*

It only allows 2 files in a project in the free version! What a disappointment

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. This is displayed in the app description and the website, also inside the app when reaching the limits. You can use all pro features for free. What exactly are you expectations? Please contact us directly if you have any questions or ideas.

### 1/5 — Unfit unless you're connected 24/7

*2025-12-19*

Keep in mind that offline compilation is severely limited, which they conveniently tell you only when you purchase the whole thing.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. The app tells you the limitations of the offline compiler when you activate offline compilation as well as in the help as well as after PDF generation in the logs. There is no need to purchase the pro version to use the full features of verbnox (offline compiler). There is no limitation in the free version. You only need to upgrade to pro version for large projects. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.

### 1/5 — Unusable, use Overleaf instead

*2022-09-09*

I am writing a document with no bibliography. I press the "generate" button. I am told "Generation of the PDF failed; see Log for details." The "Log" button opens up the completely useless BibTeX log file, and not the LaTeX log file I actually need.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. Please note that VerbTeX detects entries in the .bib file. Please remove all items and try again. We do this to improve performance if no .bib content is present. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.

### 1/5 — It’s almost 2022. End the half-baked storage support

*2021-12-14*

We’re almost in 2022 and apps like this still have hard coded workflows for saving to Dropbox and box. iCloud Drive was added 4 or 5 years ago. It’s time to finally adopt it.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. Of course iCloud is supported. You can manage your files directly in the editor using the outline (book icon). Dropbox and Box go one step further by automatically synchronizing your projects in the background while you're working on it. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.

### 1/5 — Buggy and doesnt work

*2021-03-01, version 3.1.0*

the app is buggy and doesnt work, really dissappointed.

### 1/5 — Zero support for local file management = limited uses

*2020-10-26*

Response to Dev: I do not have a Mac and moving Tex files between iPad and computer is tedious anyway. The app has no native support for the “Files” app in iOS. Enabling that would open a world of possibilities up.

—- original review below —-

I cannot use this app which forces me into Dropbox or Box (neither of which I use nor want to use) for cloud synchronizing options.

The “local” mode puts files in some unknown location on my iPad rather than allowing me to select a location through iOS’s native Files app. If that was enabled, I could at least point to my Nextcloud cloud sync folder and have more flexibility in where files are stored.

Another further limitation of the local mode is I can’t immediately tell how projects are saved. And since I cannot import any existing project and don’t have to time to create something from scratch, I’m left frustrated trying to setup this app for production.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. As mentioned in our previous reply you can manage your files in the project list using the native Files app (as you requested). You can also import and export projects using the Finder on your Mac or you can do it manually in the app by pressing the Manage button in the project list. The Local Mode puts your files in your App folder (which exists for all kind of apps). You can enable auto save in Local Mode (saves when generating a PDF) or press Save manually of course. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.

### 1/5 — Unklar.

*2020-08-09, version 3.1.0*

### 1/5 — Basically unusable condition

*2020-01-16*

I don’t know what these good reviews come from. iPad Pro 11, take forever to just compile a plain document with the sentence “hello world”. Zero star

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. We just tested it with an iPad Pro 11 and generation with a sentence "hello world" takes less than one second. Could you send us a sample project that doesn't work? We'd be happy to resolve any issues you have with the app.

### 1/5 — saying goodbye within the first half an hour of use

*2019-03-17*

i caame up verbisus looking for a decent way to access my latex projects from my ipad, i got an account from win web version, entered the web version to import my projects and see how things work here.

so, i was unable to import a single project, i checked and double checked the content of .zip files, i tried to unzip them and zip again, i tried different document types and so on. all projects are unable to be imported, no clarification regarding what the actual problem is.

then i tried to create a new project and simply copy-paste my content in there, i tried an article class and a cv, didn’t even bother to try a beamer, since neither of those two worked out. all of the projects i tried to compile are perfectly fine, i compiled them with no problem on multiple systems and TeX editors, either. online or offline. and, further, the log is completely unable to be understood: there are only warnings, no errors, yet still the documents fail to

thus, it was a promising beginning, but goodbye guys, good luck, see you in the future, probably, if you manage to actually improve before the hybrid of red lion and green leaf come up with thier mobile systems solution. — cheers

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report.
Please note that since the web version currently doesn't support complex folder structures you need to provide a .zip file with flat folder hierarchy. Anyway, we'd highly suggest to use Local Mode since you're already working on an iOS device.
All your described types (article, cv, beamer) should work without problems. We just tested it and everything seems to work fine.
Please note that the log is the output of the PDF generation. Please contact us directly as every function you described should work. Could you provide us with some more details on your devices and your projects? Maybe you could send us a sample project that doesn't work so we can take a detailed look at it. Please contact us directly so we can solve your problems.

### 1/5 — File folder location is hard to set

*2018-09-25*

This instruction does not work when I try to set up a folder to work with the app. “You can easily backup your projects and generated PDFs by using iTunes -> Apps -> File Sharing -> Choose VerbTeX -> Save to...”

**Developer response:** Thank you for your report. Actually it should work exactly as described. Could you elaborate a bit in detail what exactly doesn't work? We'd be happy to solve any issues you have. Please contact us directly.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Pleasantly Surprised

*2026-07-11*

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this app, but really impressed by how simple and promptly it’s able to compile LaTeX documents (and the pro lifetime subscription is very reasonable)

### 5/5 — Works as promised

*2026-05-14*

Working w/ AI to generate Latex texts and this program is perfect for editing and pdf, well done!

### 5/5 — No extras, but works super well!

*2026-05-09, version 3.9.7*

This actually works! I have half a dozen LaTeX editors on my iPad by this point — this is the only one that always compiles the pdf files with no errors. All the maths packages, tables, fonts, and layout settings, it all just works! It has no special features whatsoever, but if you store your preamble and favourite custom command codes using the iOS “text replacement” in settings, you can use shortcut phrases to recall complex blocks of your favourite code and jot down notes or write long-form documents and compile them offline instantly as pdf files. That is all I could ask for when it comes to my physics assignments. Really glad I finally found this.

### 5/5 — Parfait

*2026-04-01*

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-03-19*

I really love this LaTeX Editor and works very good with my iPad

### 5/5 — Nice very nice

*2026-01-11, version 3.8.9*

Nice

### 5/5 — Funciona no dia a dia no iPad!

*2025-07-26, version 3.7.1*

O unico que funciona no iPad. Consigo editor provas, TCCs, Laudos Periciais a qualquer momento e lugar.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2025-04-30*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — It's really great

*2025-01-01, version 3.5.9*

I am enjoying editing on this, It would be even better if we could get suggestions for commands... That alone would make it the best

### 5/5 — Mathematicalisms

*2024-10-21*

i use latex in my daily life, but i don’t know how this app operates

for that i will give it 5 stars because i enjoy math
