The app use to scan the ID right away but now since the update around 2026 new year it takes 30+ seconds to even scan. You have to hover over the ID for what seems like a long time. This issue needs fixed right away! ### 5/5 — Great for catching fake IDs *2024-05-22* This is the only iOS app that actually catches most fake IDs. Have tested with expensive fakes bought from Hong Kong and it catches almost all of them. Has caught quite a few fakes. Doesn’t catch them all because you need special hardware to do that, but does catch some. I have searched EVERY SCAN COMPANY OUT THERE and none compare to ID Scan! I started 8 years ago and now up to 3000 scans per week and it works FLAWLESS! I have 4 IPod Honeywell Sleds all with VS Online and all the information is synced and Stored! Incredible!! Love the app and the Hardware. We are able to use the scanner on small devices that the servers can take with them and never have take the Id’s from the customers sight. I would highly recommend veriscan online to anyone who is looking for a reliable system. We bought the Honeywell scanners to use with the app. Not only has it streamlined checking ids but also made signing up to become a member a breeze. Customer service has also been really good, they actually answer the phone. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-03-16, version 7.2* I’m a nightclub security manager currently training some new hires how to check for fake ID’s. One curious applicant asked about this app so I downloaded it. The app incorrectly scanned 32 fake ID’s we had on hand from previous confiscations. It signaled all 32 of them as legally old enough to drink. ### 1/5 — Stopped working after update *2026-02-14, version 7.2* The most recent UI update made the app awful. It doesn’t scan quickly and often doesn’t scan at all.
