## What is VeriSky?

Ever wondered how accurate your weather forecast actually is? VeriSky lets you find out, and pick the model that works best for you.

Most weather apps choose a model for you, or quietly blend a few. But no single model wins everywhere. The one that nails temperature in your city might be hopeless at wind, or great for tomorrow yet useless a week out, and the best model can differ between towns just miles apart.

VeriSky scores how each model has actually performed at your exact location over the past days, weeks, and months, separately for temperature, rain, wind, and sun. It also shows how far ahead each stays reliable, so you know which to trust short-term and which for the long haul.

Switch between the top global models, all free:

- ECMWF IFS: the gold standard in global forecasting
- ECMWF AIFS: ECMWF's new AI-powered model
- GFS: NOAA's widely-used American model
- AIGFS: NOAA's new AI-powered model
- ICON: Germany's DWD high-resolution model

Show several at once to see where they agree, or blend them into one confidence score for every hour and day.

Time travel: drag back up to 7 days to see what a model predicted on earlier days, laid over what actually happened. One glance tells you how much to trust tomorrow's forecast.

Plus charts for temperature, sunshine, UV, precipitation (rain vs. snow), wind, cloud, humidity, pressure, and marine (waves, currents), a wind map, Feels like temperature by default, and home-screen widgets, all in one app.

No login. No ads. No data collection. Just weather, verified.

VeriSky Pro, optional:

- Commercial forecasts: add Apple Weather, OpenWeatherMap and Visual Crossing to the comparison, scored at your location against what actually happened
- Your locations, scored: pick up to 10 saved places and have every model collected and verified there, like at the airports
- Rain nowcast: minute-scale radar outlook for Europe, the United States, Canada and Hong Kong
- Sports: best-window finder for running, cycling, sailing, kitesurfing and gliding, with advanced charts, spot settings and personal limits

Commercial model standings on the Score tab stay free for everyone, and the nowcast in the Netherlands stays free too.

Eine wirklich gelungene Wetter-App mit einem interessanten Konzept. Besonders gefällt mir, dass man verschiedene Wettermodelle vergleichen und deren tatsächliche Trefferquote nachvollziehen kann. Die vielen Diagramme, Statistiken und Verifizierungsfunktionen bieten deutlich mehr Informationen als die meisten anderen Wetter-Apps.

An einigen Stellen könnte die deutsche Übersetzung noch etwas überarbeitet werden, da einzelne Formulierungen etwas holprig wirken. Das ist aber nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt. Insgesamt ist VeriSky übersichtlich, informativ und macht genau das, was sie verspricht. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die sich intensiver mit Wettervorhersagen beschäftigen möchten.

Ich habe schon sehr viele Wetter Apps in all den Jahren probiert. Diese ist mit Abstand die beste von allen! Sie ist übersichtlich, man kann sehr viel individualisieren und das schönste ist, dass man sich die Wetter Modelle für die Vorhersage auswählen kann, die man am zuverlässigsten erachtet. Man sieht auch rückwirkend, welches Wettermodell in den letzten Wochen und Monaten am zuverlässigsten bestimmte Prognosen wie Temperaturen vorhersagen konnte. So hat man die Möglichkeit, sich das Wettermodell für die Vorhersage auszuwählen, welches man möchte. Man kann auch mehrere Wettermodelle auswählen und es werden Durchschnittswerte für die Vorhersagen gebildet. Das bietet sonst keine andere App! Ich bin restlos begeistert!

One of the most innovative weather apps I’ve seen. Really fantastic to be able to see score cards for how well the various models have been working. It helps you answer “which model has been tracking the best against the actually weather in my area”. Being able to see historical weather forecasts is also a real bonus. Perfect tool for someone that really wants insight into how weather modeling and forecasts work.

With a list of weather prediction services it allows you to see which one consistently provides the best weather predictions for your locale. Such a smart take on a weather app, it is now my go to. The UI is also well laid out. And it’s free!
