## What is Veritag?

Veritag turns an artwork into a portal. Tap the circle and hold your iPhone to the NFC chip on the work: in a moment the app checks that it is authentic and opens its passport — the story of the work, the artist who made it and the curator who vouches for them.

ARTTRUST: THREE INDEPENDENT PROOFS
• The chip — NXP NTAG 424 DNA: every read produces a fresh cryptographic proof (AES-CMAC with a counter). It cannot be cloned, and an old read cannot be replayed.
• The signature — the artist signs the bond between work and chip with an ECDSA P-256 key that is created on their phone and never leaves it.
• The curator — a curator meets the artist in person and grants the blue check with a code exchanged face to face.

FOR VISITORS
• No account: hold your iPhone close and read the verdict — authentic, counterfeit, replayed read or unverified artist.
• The artwork’s passport: title, story, artist, the curator’s guarantee and the exhibitions it has been part of.
• When the artist offers one, the Private View: reserved works that open only for whoever tapped an authentic artwork in person.
• Direct contact: save the artist’s card or ask for a studio visit.

FOR ARTISTS
• Create your artist identity: the signing key stays on your phone.
• Ask a curator for the blue check by reading them a code in person.
• Sign your works: tell the work’s story, add a photo and write the NTAG 424 DNA chip by holding your iPhone to it.
• Tag doctor: identify a chip or erase it.

Requirements: an iPhone with NFC (iPhone 7 or later). Artworks need NXP NTAG 424 DNA chips.
