However, with the new update, when I switch between other apps and Command, it restarts the app and doesn’t take me to where I was previously configuring. also discovered I can’t assign off-line devices to a site from the app, only from a browser, which is inconvenient. Otherwise I really like everything. ### 4/5 — Verkada Command in your pocket *2026-05-06* I love that most functions for Command managing locks are accessible in this app, but it would be more wonderful if the Schedule function could also be on my phone app. Nice that I can use my iPad, but that doesn’t fit in my pocket. ### 4/5 — Great capabilities, less than desirable licensing fees *2025-11-07* While I appreciate the system, the exorbitant license fees pose a significant barrier to potential market penetration. Our organization would likely have installed more camera units and or additional equipment if the fees were more reasonable. However, the app version could be enhanced with additional capabilities, such as the ability to toggle cameras relative to the zone to follow a person of interest while using a mobile device. The majority of our site viewers multitask and are mobile throughout our three properties. Therefore, they would benefit from the ability to avoid exiting a camera and searching 110 cameras for a person of interest. ### 2/5 — App slow and freezes *2025-09-18, version 4.36.0* Some work needs to be done on the Verkada Command app. It constantly freezes and is tough to scroll through. ### 2/5 — Upgrade = Downgrade *2025-08-31* This was a great cell phone app but the last two versions in August 2025 eliminated live steaming of the cameras in the grid view and replaced with a swipe to refresh. I have 8 cameras and have to open each camera view separately to see a live streaming view. Please fix this! Fortunately live streaming in camera grid view is a feature available using my laptop. ### 4/5 — Decent *2025-04-20* The latest update has somehow managed to log me out, and magic links will not log me back in. Overall the app has been pretty stable, and generally works well. **Developer response:** Hi, we recently had to make a change to passkeys. Can you try deleting and remaking your passkey and see if that fixes the issue for you? Thanks for the feedback! ### 3/5 — Works Well but… *2024-08-08, version 4.0.17* This app works really well but sometime recently when I try to log in to the App with my Authentication code, the verify button is on the top of the app screen and I can’t actually press it to log in. I don’t know when this issue first started or if it’s something with just my phone. ### 2/5 — 2FA and Dynamic Island *2024-07-16, version 4.0.14* I can’t get past the 2FA because the “Verify” button is behind the Dynamic Island. ### 2/5 — Excellent hardware, poor software *2023-10-05* I really wanted to like this. The hardware is very good, but the software has so many holes. We spent tens of thousands of dollars on this and are disappointed. Examples: Video intercom does not show who is at the door until you answer it (defeats the whole purpose & video doorbells under $100 do this!). There is no distinct ringtone for the door intercoms, so when someone presses the doorbell, you have to find out which door they are at. Notifications are a mess. No picture is shown (except in text messages). You can’t easily mute the notifications. The notifications are not according to Apple’s standard. You need a license for everything & they are expensive! You need a separate AppleTV to view the video feeds as their previous iPad app is deprecated. There is no Apple Watch app (which would be so helpful!). There was no helpful introduction or setting up of devices. No developer response to Apple Store complaints. No Face ID for security so you have to keep logging in. I could name 100 things that are missing or poorly implemented. A greatly missed opportunity. ### 3/5 — App locks phone *2023-04-21* This app freezes my iso phone. The screen locks frozen, I cannot get out of the app, reboot my phone or make or take phone calls. I reported this is with no response. I though it was my phone, I then got a new iPhone and it does the same thing. I put the app on my wife’s iPhone and she reported the same issue. It’s not every time but it happens on average every 3 times I use it to view video of my office. What’s more concerning is, should I be in an emergency and this happens I will not be able to call anyone. When I say it freezes my phone it freezes everything. The time does not even change… 3-6 min each time. Serious issue needs to be resolved. ### 4/5 — Signed out *2023-03-07, version 3.26.0* Every single time I go to use this I have been signed out. Please just let me keep it signed in, it’s a waste of time. Would be nice to be able to manage admin settings such as change access control etc for users but I understand this app is just for viewing the cameras. Maybe a separate Verkada Admin application would be ideal. ### 3/5 — Face ID anyone? *2023-02-22* Why is it so difficult to make Command remember who I am, and have a seamless, effortless Face ID authentication experience each time I use the app? Why is it if I wait three days, and then try to use the app again, I am prompted with no fewer than three screens requesting credentials in preposterous ways? No, I do not need a link emailed to me so I can login using the same phone I’ve had for over two years now, and have FaceID working fine on… seriously guys, there has to be a better, less frustrating way. ### 2/5 — Keeps freezing lately *2023-02-04, version 3.24.0* Not sure if this is a recent update cause if this, but when switching between cameras my phone has been freezing up lately. I’m on a 14 pro max with latest iOS and Verkada app. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars. Hoping this will catch someone’s attention and I can share data etc. I’ll also reach out to Verkada directly. For the cost of the cameras and license, this should not be happening. ### 3/5 — Stop repeatedly asking to enable notifications *2022-12-16* Every time I open the app it prompts to enable notifications despite consistently saying no. ### 2/5 — Prompting for password on most logins *2022-05-17, version 3.17.2* I’m only giving 2 stars as Verkada seemingly cannot figure out how to make FaceID work, after every single update to their app. On a seemingly weekly basis, I need to once again enter my username and password to use the Command app. This isn’t an issue for other apps after updates- why is this an issue for Verkada? To make matters worse, the authentication screen is pretty hokey looking. There really should be social SSO options by default, but Verkada has made this more complex for some strange reason. Face ID not working is particularly frustrating when you need to check a camera very quickly, and and your left having to enter in a username and password (yet again) when every second counts… It’s kind of a problem. I would love to hear an explanation for why Face ID seemingly stops working every time Verkada updates the app. ### 1/5 — Constantly logging me out *2022-05-01, version 3.17.0* App keeps logging me out every few days. Super annoying. No option to adjust. ### 1/5 — Last update broke full screen on iPad *2021-11-19, version 3.13.0* Turning the iPad landscape does not get rid of the bottom half of the screen, whereas on iPhone it makes the video fullscreen. No matter what I do I can’t login to the app at this point in time. ### 1/5 — v4.38.0 Cameras don’t update *2025-10-07, version 4.38.0* The IOS app used to stream all cams in real-time. Now the cameras don’t update at all. They show a still, and you have to select one camera to get real-time video, not a group/site. This is a local LAN with no firewall in the way. Can we just have real-time on the Cameras view back or add Grid view as per the browser? Really frustrating! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2025-05-16* Our neighborhood installed cameras in 2023. Because of the clarity and the need to update our home cameras, we invested, yes…invested $$,$$$ in having Verkada cameras installed at our home. Six total! We were also told that our city uses Verkada, so it was easier to confirm the investment that we were making to keep our home safe. In October of 2023, five cameras and a doorbell camera were installed at our home. I've always had concerns about three cameras and their clarity. Nothing is clear! Faces, vehicles, even plants and trees!!! Maybe 6 months, the app seemed to work well. Bugs looked like twinkle stars, and you could go back to locate the neighbor's cat. Now nothing. The screen bounces around, and you can't clearly see a bird, bug, critter, or burglar. My neighbor's camera can pick up people and movement better than what we have. And I've checked our settings! Fix the app! I'm tired of it bouncing around. It works for 5-10 seconds upon opening the app then all streams go black. One or two cameras occasionally come up for a few seconds then go black again. Extremely slow/unusable to look back at footage. Sometimes it freezes up on certain frames and you can never see what actually happens. New update in August of 2024 absolutely ruined everything. Seems nothing on the app will work or connect since this update. ### 1/5 — Can’t remote unlock doors on iPhones only *2024-07-30, version 4.0.16* Recently we’ve lost the ability to remotely unlock doors using the command app on iPhones only. All the doors show offline and the unlock button is greyed out. Both the website and my android phone can still do this. Company only supplies iPhones so this is a big issue for our site admins. ### 1/5 — App is 100% unusable after update *2024-03-12* I can’t even use the app now because when I click login there is no field popping up to enter my login info. I have no way to login to use it. Very frustrating as I use this for work to manage my department. I can use the web browser to check things but the app was much easier to use. Needs to be fixed cause it used to work. ### 1/5 — Can’t trust a company that releases buggy software *2022-07-15* I was really excited about this company but after going to the trouble to get a trial camera I conclude I cannot trust these guys with the security of my company’s facility. The iPhone app is literally unusable. Can’t even register my trial camera. Every attempted action in the app causes it to freeze. I lost interest in Verkada within 5 minutes of trying to set up my trial. How can anyone entrust their security to this outfit if they don’t even bother to test their app for the most basic functions?
