I don’t usually have problems with HOPs but really just couldn’t see some items. Other puzzles also not always clear on how to play. Some promising puzzles were unplayable, and the latter half of the storyline was a jumbled mess so that the next step was never clear. But, the graphics, voice acting and complex HOPs were first-rate. I also enjoyed the incorporation of elements from Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Thus, I am rounding up my score of 3.5. I didn't want this game to end! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Vermillion Watch: Moorgate Accord Collectors Edition for iPad *2022-09-17, version 1.0.0* The game admittedly is five years old but is still for sale on the Big Fish site and shouldn't be. It was fine until I got to Chapter 5. Pretty sad Guide for this game after that. At least two parts of the actual game do not appear in the Guide at all, so at one point if you can't solve the puzzles presented, tough luck. You're stranded with no way out of that section of the game. I resent paying for a Collectors Edition game that I can't even play to the end, despite multiple attempts to troubleshoot. You'd think this would have been corrected sometime in the last five years, but you would be wrong. I liked that. I only played the free selection but I was impressed by it. I DIDN'T like all the cutscenes, though. Too much talk. And I didn't have any map in the free section. Will it provide one later? If you skip a game, it will show you the steps you needed to take to complete the puzzle. I like that, too. It doesn't just show you the completed puzzle, like some games do. I was impressed, though not impressed enough to spend $6.99 on it. It seems I missed the introductory price. Update: I started to play it, again, and hated it! It was WAY too dark to see anything. The first HO scene I completed accidentally when using the pinch screen to make it easier to identify things. I kept hitting items I didn’t even see! I got to the house, opened the wall and decided to forget buying this one. Why they decided to make things so dark is beyond me. The artwork is intricate and incredible, the story actually makes sense, the music appropriate and with enough variations, the puzzles are a mix of challenging but do-able to easier but fun. The bonus game fit with the main story and wasn’t too long. They even include different types of tasks and challenges within the story that aren’t puzzles or Hop. That was surprising and fun. The way they chose the tools you need to find and use was a lot more realistic and made a lot more sense than most games I’ve played which made the game flow a lot better and allows you to use fewer hints. This is the longest review I have ever written - I’m taking the time because this is a great game!!
