### 5/5 — Rewards for building positive habits

*2026-09-24*

I first started using the app around 3 months ago because I found the concept really cool. Since, it has had a positive impact on my finances by helping me budget better, plus the offer of incentives is a good bonus.

### 5/5 — Really useful to mitigate the day to day anxieties

*2026-09-23*

Living in London comes with perennial financial anxiety and I have come to really enjoy using the Vero app to tackle this feeling. Using the app makes me feel productive while also giving me a little dopamine boost.

### 5/5 — Love this for the day to day!

*2026-09-23*

Living in London involves meticulous planning and being able to engage with all the features on vero feels like I’m taking control of my constant financial anxiety.

### 1/5 — Unfairly flagged and reward eligibility paused without valid grounds

*2026-09-21*

I have been using Vero to track my finances, but out of nowhere, I received an email stating that my reward eligibility has been paused. The reason given by their system was that my transactions "do not reasonably reflect genuine spending" (referencing Terms Section 7.3).
This is completely unjustified and unreasonable. All my recorded activities and transactions are genuine, everyday financial usages. Unilaterally blocking user reward redemptions after users have actively engaged with the platform for a long time feels like a bait-and-switch tactic to avoid fulfilling promised rewards.
Their automated system incorrectly flags legitimate user activity, and customer support hides behind generic policy clauses. I have submitted an appeal and expect this issue to be escalated and resolved immediately. Very disappointing user experience—be cautious if you expect to actually redeem any rewards from this platform!

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this.

One thing worth saying up front: Vero isn't a rewards platform, it's a money habit app. Rewards are there to celebrate real progress, not to be the main reason anyone's here.

Our system is built to spot accounts that look like they're here to farm rewards rather than build genuine habits. That includes transactions that are unrealistically small, like £20 rent or £0.99 weekly groceries logged just to stay under a budgeting challenge limit, or a repeating £ 1 for a KFC meal every single day, which doesn't reflect genuine spending for anyone living in the UK. it can also spot duplicate accounts run by the same person. Every appeal is still reviewed by a real person on our team. Sorry the wait on your appeal has felt long!

We're a small pre-revenue team, and everything we build has one mission: helping people who want to get better with money stay on track. If your spending is genuine, your appeal is exactly the right route, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can 💚

### 1/5 — greedy developers

*2026-09-19*

this app was amazing when i first downloaded it, you had vast options of rewards, we’re talking nandos, costa, jd sports, you name it and they had it. then they updated the app and suddenly EVERYTHING is behind a paid subscription which never existed before. there’s less than 15 rewards you can get which is absolutely ridiculous compared to what they had to offer beforehand (not to mention out of those you can only get 2 for free which aren’t even good offers anyway), and don’t even get me started how everything on here is ai now, you had an amazing app before adding ai, now it’s just turned into some lifeless slop. i find it really disappointing that we’ve decided to take an amazing BUDGETING app and turn it into a paid subscription, some people use this app because they struggle with money however you want to now capitalise off those vulnerable people, get your values right..

**Developer response:** Hey — appreciate you taking the time, even if it's a rough one to read.

Let's clear it up: the core of Vero — expense tracking, chatting with Verdi for spending insights, and saving challenges — is and always will be free. That's the whole point of the app. If you're here to budget and build better habits, you don't necessarily have to pay.

The £4.99 unlocks more of the reward partners and boosted offers for people who want to go further. But rewards were always the bonus, not the solution — a little encouragement for people putting in real effort, a simple particle of our habit loop. And we've kept tangible rewards open to free users too, with more brand partners joining that free tier very soon.

Now, on "greedy": we're a small pre-revenue team with a genuine social mission, and yeah, the app has to sustain itself to keep going, like everything else in the world. It's really just there to add a little extra on top for those who want it — never to lock away the basics. Everything we're building is to make Vero better, faster, and more useful for the people we built it for.

### 1/5 — App was good at the start

*2026-09-08*

The app started out good but it now has ads and a paid subscription just to get good rewards.. don’t waste your time on the app. Its supposed to help you budget but now you have to pay 😂

**Developer response:** Hey Elliot, totally understand the frustration, but let us clarify:

The core of Vero - seamless expense tracking, chatting with AI for spending insights, and saving challenges - is and always will be free. That's the whole point of the app, everyone should be able to build good money habits without paying for it.

What's behind the paywall is a set of extra perks and boosted rewards for people who want to go further with it. We've kept some tangible rewards open to free users too, so you're not locked out there either.

Not gonna pretend the app doesn't need to make money somewhere, it does, like literally everything else in the world, but that's there to add value on top, not to gate the basics. Hope you'll give the free version of our elephant another try 🐘

### 5/5 — Vero+ is great

*2026-08-25*

Great budgeting app and very rewarding!

### 1/5 — App failing to open after most recent update!!

*2026-08-16*

App failing to open after most recent update!!

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry for the frustration this caused. The outage happened due to an error during a recent App Store deployment, and it was resolved in under 24 hours. All affected users have been reimbursed with the tokens and XP they could have earned that day, and streaks were not affected. We're a small team building this alongside our users, and we'll keep doing our best to make the experience as smooth as possible.

### 5/5 — Promising app looking forward to seeing where it goes

*2026-07-29*

Definitely a fan of the ease of recording expenses that this app gets, would love to see expansion on the gamification and engagement with the elephant in the future as well as better analytics.

### 5/5 — Rewarding for better habits

*2026-07-07*

I always hated budgeting apps because it can be overwhelming and scary but Vero+ is different. Their gamification, although confusing at times, still makes budgeting more fun and approachable. I really like how I can earn tokens and redeem rewards from brands. I would love to have deeper analytics of my spending. Overall, I’m looking forward to new features !
