I joined with a lot of trust and hope, because finding a life partner is something very personal and important. Unfortunately, I never felt heard. Especially with Poshak and Shreya, I felt that my preferences were constantly being pushed aside and their own opinions were forced on me. Instead of helping me find the kind of person I was looking for, I was repeatedly made to feel that I should compromise on what mattered to me. What hurts the most is the promise I was given when I joined — that they would support me until I found my partner. After a year, that promise was simply abandoned and my membership was ended, even though I hadn’t found my partner. It honestly feels like the promise was made to win my business, not because they genuinely intended to stand by it. This was my hard-earned money and, more importantly, my trust, and I feel deeply disappointed by how it was handled. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of joining Verona to think twice. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this service to anyone. While the dashboard occasionally shows a few curated profiles, expressing interest in someone rarely leads to any progress, possibly because key features are locked behind a paid membership. The overall experience feels stagnant without upgrading. The verification process is also quite slow, which adds to the frustration. Moreover, the exclusive “Burgundy” plan being limited only to IIM graduates is unfair. There are many accomplished professionals outside the IIM network, including entrepreneurs who lead teams of IIM alumni. This selective approach lacks inclusivity. Despite setting clear filters and preferences, the profiles shared are often irrelevant, like the filters don’t actually matter. The onboarding call makes it worse: an intern asks for extremely detailed personal information, implying it’ll unlock better, more curated matches beyond what the app shows. But after all that, the profiles you receive feel like the bottom of the pile, low effort, obvious mismatches, and clearly not aligned with what you shared. The app itself is underwhelming for the price. It doesn’t show enough profiles, and the ones it does show aren’t relevant enough to justify paying. Overall, it comes across less like genuine matchmaking and more like a money-making venture that plays on people’s insecurities.
