## What is Verse Arcade?

Open the Bible and actually want to. Verse Arcade turns Scripture into a fast, friendly daily game — and nobody loses.

TWO THINGS EVERY DAY
One verse goes live for everyone at the same time. Read it, then race the clock through five questions about that exact verse: which book it's from, who's speaking, who's being addressed, what happens next. Beside it, a second round: five questions about one book of the Bible, the same book for everybody, from a bank of over 400.

YOU CAN'T LOSE, ONLY LEARN
Miss one? No buzzer, no shame. A wrong answer reveals a genuinely interesting fact, and the run ends with "3 things you now know" — never "3 wrong". This app is built for people who feel behind. Nobody starts knowing every verse.

A STREAK, WITH A NET
Earn XP, level up, and grow a streak with a flame that gets hotter the longer you go. Busy day? A streak freeze quietly saves you. Your reminder learns the hour you actually play.

BATTLE ANYONE, RIGHT NOW
Tap quick match and we put you with whoever else is looking — no code, no queue, no rating. Or share a room code and race a friend: the same verse, you both tap ready, and a bar shows where they are. Prefer a machine? Race Rookie, Deacon or Prophet. Winner and loser earn exactly the same.

AN ARCADE IN THE BACK
Manna Rush: seven days in the wilderness, and on the seventh the best thing is to rest. Word Catch: a verse comes loose from the page and you tap the words back in order. Cross Word: two words that share a letter, standing as a cross — solve it and the squares turn to wood with the verse carved underneath. No high scores. Nothing ranked.

PLAY FOR YOUR CHURCH
Find your congregation and give it the points you earn. Giving costs you nothing — your own XP and rank stay exactly where they are. Every Monday your church meets another its own size, and whoever gives more raises a statue in their churchyard. Small churches play small ones, so a congregation of four can win its week.

A ROOM THAT IS YOURS
An Upper Room under your player card that belongs to nobody else. Furnish it, choose what it's made of, and let friends knock. Pray in it: a prayer is built for you out of four movements, so you always know what comes next, and it will read itself aloud if you'd rather listen.

THE PRAYER WALL
Tuck a note into the stones and the wall deals somebody else's to you. Hold the candle until the wick catches. A stranger only ever sees the category — your own words reach your church and your buddies, or nobody at all. Anonymous unless you sign it.

YOUR WHOLE BIBLE, FILLING IN
All 66 books, 1,189 chapters and 31,102 verses. Every one you read, study or keep lights up on your own copy, and reading a book all the way through presses its seal. Open a chapter with no signal and it still draws every verse. Read in KJV, WEB or BBE.

STUDY, WITHOUT A SCORE
The Study tab is a library with a librarian in it. See your accuracy book by book, weakest first, drill what needs it, and review the verses you kept before they fade. Nothing in Study is ranked or scored against anyone.

PEOPLE, NOT A SCOREBOARD
Build your character at the door — figure, skin tone and hair, all free — then earn full-look skins and a companion that walks beside you. Tap somebody's face and wash their feet: twelve a day, one for each disciple, and the only thing here you can do to a person that isn't a challenge. There is no count of who likes you, and no board anywhere ranks a person against a friend.

MADE THOUGHTFULLY
• Play today's verse as a guest. A free account opens the rest and keeps your streak.
• Sign in with Apple, Google or email to sync across devices.
• Sound, music and haptics you can dial down or off anytime.
• Delete your account and all your data in-app, whenever you want.
• No ads. No tracking. We never sell your data.

Verse text is the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), a modern, public-domain translation. Scripture is always free — and always will be.

Start your streak today. It's one verse.

### 5/5 — SO FUN

*2026-08-31*

I love this app. I keep failing the quizzes , but that’s all the more reason to keep playing and learn my verses better!! You can also add friends and battle people to see who knows their verses better. Very interactive and social!! I’m constantly discovering new things to do on the app!! And it’s so cool that you can make your own character. Absolutely loving this app, I highly recommend it!!

### 5/5 — I love verse arcade!

*2026-08-27*

It’s a fun and challenging way to learn a verse a day. You can do the daily challenge, which only takes minutes, or you can take it further because it provides a direct link to the chapter. You can have head to head challenges or create a church or friend group.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-11

Everything here is new since 1.2.0.

TODAY IS TWO THINGS NOW
• The Play tab is today's verse, today's trivia round and your road. Nothing else.
• Trivia is four hundred questions about the BOOKS of the Bible. Five on one book
each morning, the same book for everyone. No XP, no rank, nothing to fall behind
  on.
• A compass names what is open right now and goes quiet once your day is done. Never a score, never a list of what you missed.

EVERY RUN ENDS WITH WHAT YOU LEARNED
• Miss a question and the fact behind it is waiting at the end — "3 things you now
  know", never "3 wrong".
• Earn a piece for one of your rooms and you are told the moment it is yours.

BATTLE ANYONE, RIGHT NOW
• Quick match: tap it and we put you with whoever else is looking. No code, no
  queue, no rating.
• Or share a room code. You both read the same verse, you both tap ready, and a
bar shows where the other player is.
• Pick the round: the verse, or trivia on one book.
• 10 XP for turning up, three a day — winner and loser get exactly the same.
• Six looks earned in battle. Jonathan and Deborah from playing live, win or lose;
Francis, Hildegard, Aquinas and Melisende from winning. No progress bar to grind,
and nothing counts what you have lost.

THERE IS AN ARCADE IN HERE
• Manna Rush: seven days in the wilderness. Gather the fresh flakes, leave
yesterday's, and on the seventh day the best thing is to rest.
• Word Catch: a verse comes loose from the page and you tap the words back in
  order.
• Cross Word: two words that share a letter, standing as a cross. Solve it and
the squares turn to wood with the verse carved underneath.
• Your first go on each machine is worth 5 XP a day, for turning up rather than for
doing well. No high scores, and nothing here can be lost.
• Share a machine: one free go, no account, no download.

PRAY, AND BE PRAYED FOR
• The Prayer Wall: tuck a note into the stones, and the wall deals somebody else's
to you. Hold the candle until the wick catches.
• A stranger only ever sees the category. Your own words reach your church and
buddies, or nobody at all. Anonymous unless you sign it.
• No note carries a count, so no note can become a ladder of who is loved.

READING FINALLY UNLOCKS SOMETHING
• Read every chapter of a book and its seal is pressed into your Bible. Sixty-six
to find, and the short ones take an evening.
• A wardrobe page: everything there is to wear and what brings it. No counts, no
  bars.
• Four rings and four badges for chapters opened, the first at ten. Nothing here can
  be taken back.
• Three looks that layer BEHIND your own character instead of replacing it — a
vine, a pillar of fire, sheltering wings. Your face, your robe, your items stay.

FIRST LIGHT
• Whoever opens a day's verse first holds its light, and everyone who opens it
after is worth a point to them. Nothing is taken from anybody — the points are
minted, not moved. No second place, and a fresh start at midnight.

YOUR CHURCH HAS SOMEBODY TO PLAY THIS WEEK
• Every Monday your church meets another its own size. Whoever gives more raises a
statue in their churchyard, and your congregation picks which one. Nobody is named
on the losing side, and Monday starts everyone at nothing.
• Small congregations play small ones, so a church of four can win its week.
• The board reads Today, This week or All time, so a church playing hard now is not
buried under one that banked points two years ago.

THE REST
• Your week, on a Sunday: what you did over seven days. Your own numbers, nothing
  compared to anybody.
• Your reminder learns the hour you actually play.
• Put a favourite verse, book and translation on your card.
• Drag anything in your Upper Room, hall or churchyard exactly where you want it,
and pick what the room is made of: clay, limestone, cedar or dusk. All four free,
and none of them makes a bigger room.

No ads, no tracking, and a wrong answer still teaches you something.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-28

Your whole Bible is in here now — all 66 books and 31,102 verses — and every one you read, study or keep lights up on your own copy.

PLACES THAT ARE YOURS
• The Upper Room: a small chamber under your player card that belongs to nobody but you. Eighteen furnishings, earned by playing. Friends can knock and look around — and there is no number on it for anyone to beat.
• Pray in it. A prayer is built for you out of four movements, so you always know what comes next, and it will read itself aloud in a calm voice if you'd rather listen. Your lampstand burns on the day you prayed and goes out overnight. It is not a streak, and nothing counts it.
• Your faction's keep — a hall that grows with the battles your side wins. Furnish it, merge duplicates into finer pieces, and offer your best one to your church.
• A churchyard you plant in front of your congregation's building.
• The Harvest Road: daily quests, a walkable painted road, and rewards never for sale.

PEOPLE, WITHOUT A SCOREBOARD
• Make your character at the door: figure, skin tone and hair, all free.
• A companion. Earn a pet by playing — it walks beside you on your profile, and now in every place people gather: the hall, the churchyard, the road, your room.
• Tap anyone and meet them at full height, companion and all, instead of a small crop.
• Wash another player's feet. Twelve a day, one for each disciple — the one thing you can do to somebody here that isn't a challenge.
• Give a relic you found to another player. No message field, no trade, no haggling.
• A mailbox for gifts, buddy requests, washings and news. It carries nothing that is a comparison — no digest of what your friends scored, no "you're 4th".

THE REST
• The Journal: every milestone you've passed, gathered in one page. A number you got to, never a place you hold.
• Saved looks — put a whole outfit back on in one tap.
• Larger reading text, if you want it.
• A soundtrack. Every room has its own tune, and walking in is the only way to get one.
• Study got more generous: no daily ceiling on focus drills, no weekly cooldown on replays, and a relic to find when you study.

Cosmetics are no longer sold. Everything that used to cost money is earned or free, and anyone who bought a pack keeps every piece of it.

As always: no ads, no tracking, and a wrong answer still teaches you something.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-25

The biggest update since launch. Everything below is new since 1.0.

CHURCHES
Find your church — or add it in seconds — then give it the points you earn. Giving costs you nothing: your own XP and rank stay exactly where they are. Your congregation levels up, from House Gathering to Little Chapel and beyond, and climbs a board you can filter from 10 miles out to worldwide.

BIBLE BATTLE
Challenge a friend to the same verse quiz and see who scores higher. Your battles now split into Your turn, Their turn and Finished, so you always know who you're waiting on. No one to play? Race the CPU at Rookie, Deacon or Prophet and watch their score tick up live beside yours.

BUILD A CHARACTER
Piece together the Armor of God, wear relics you've collected, and pick borders, badges and card backgrounds. Full-look skins — Moses, Esther, Elijah, King Baldwin, David and more — are earned by showing up and sharing, and a missed day never takes one away.

STUDY THAT KNOWS YOUR WEAK SPOTS
See your accuracy book by book, weakest first, and drill any of them with Focus practice. Keep the verses that mattered with Favorites, and review them before they fade.

READ IT YOUR WAY
Open the full chapter in the King James Version, the World English Bible or the Bible in Basic English.

GENTLE REMINDERS
Turn on a nudge for the daily verse and it names the verse waiting for you — it works offline, because your phone already knows which verse lands on which day. Study reminders only arrive on days you actually have something to review.

ALSO
- Player cards: tap anyone to see their card, add them as a buddy or start a battle.
- Invite friends with a referral code and unlock Take Up Your Cross.
- Signed out with an account already? There's now an obvious way back in from the home screen.
- A 20-second walkthrough for anyone starting out.
- Every one of the 66 books is now covered, with more questions per verse.
- A little more time on the clock per question.

Thank you for playing. Still one verse a day, still no way to lose.
