Joined them at the start and they said they would expand but it never really happened. ### 1/5 — Poor app *2022-01-04, version 3.0.0* I tried to write this review within the app ( but got an error) The app in principle sounds great, but unfortunately it’s not what’s written on the tin! Like most people I downloaded this app through starling bank. The sign up process is straight forwards, but also a waste of time when you find out there is only 2 retailers near you (I’m in Cardiff) belle italia and cafe rouge! On reading the reviews( over 15months) it’s clear no progress has been made with this app, and tail is only interested in getting sign up’s! I would not recommend wasting your time downloading and signing up, and banks like starling and monzo should stop promoting apps like this until they are fully established like many other incentive apps. ### 1/5 — I was hopeful *2022-01-04, version 3.0.0* This app seems out of date. Read some responses here on the app that’s several years old. I would still agree with these complaints. No good places, not much to choose from, and mainly in London. Sorry but I got really disappointed.. Offers are irrelevant. Majority of them are for eating out places which is not actual in the times of COVID. Few others are not related to companies you would have hearer off. How about having places that people outside London have a chance of getting cash back. And only 2 English cities at that. Other than that, there’s no point in using this if you stay in any other major cities in the UK. 3/4 Bella Italia locations (Edinburgh and Glasgow) and that’s it if you live in Scotland - that’s very poor. Starling should not promote this on their app for two reasons. Firstly, It only annoys people who download it as there’s nothing throughout the majority of the UK. Secondly, for the developers of the app. It’s just basically a funnel for bad reviews. People see it on starling, download it, find out that there’s nothing there then give a bad review. I’d have got concrete offers from companies throughout the UK before I’d launched an app like this. ### 1/5 — Uninstalled within 10 minutes *2021-07-30, version 2.2.0* It took me 10 minutes or less to download this app, setup the account, check its offering and then simply delete account and uninstall app. You can say the positive thing is it’s quick setup and linking bank account. The app is far from ready to be rolled out across UK. Very limited to none restaurants where you are. ### 2/5 — A Bella Italia store locator *2021-07-29, version 2.2.0* Basically if you live outside of London this app is just a store locator for Bella Italia. Really useful if you want to know where your local Bella Italia branches are and you live outside of London. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2021-06-19, version 2.2.0* There appears to be a critical bug on iOS 14.6 - the app launches and immediately hangs with a grey screen. As much as I can understand glitches and technical issue, this makes the app unusable ! ### 1/5 — Never got past registration! *2021-05-17, version 2.2.0* Several attempts to register have now resulted in me giving up and uninstalling. Shame. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The setup link comes very late *2025-07-20, version 4.1.11* Tried 3 times to ask the magic links to set up the account but took ages to come by emails and the links are valid for 30 minutes only. When I checked the emails and found the links at later time, the validity had already gone! It’s either all online orders only and everything else is based near London. Do you realise there are a lot of people that don’t live and never want to live in london? Do those living further away not deserve offers and discounts too??? Update 2025, well they now offer gift cards and the discount is so poor and they’ve not improved on my previous list of issues. I get better discounts from my employer than the poor 2% for a gift card. After that the app is no longer functional and just says “whoops - an error occurred”.
