Currently, I can’t get the app to open, a pop up says to download the new app. When I click on that, it says it’s not available in my country (U.S.) which is weird. I’m connecting via a US vpn. I tried on just cellular data, turned my phone off & on … no luck. Frustrating because I have crohns and I really do love this app when it works. I have had to throw away many sticks because “something went wrong” and app couldn’t read it. Vessel is good about sending replacements when you ask for them.. but that doesn’t help me when I’m dealing with a flare up or fatigue or trying to pinpoint what’s going on with my body. If another similar app/technology comes along with a less clunkier app.. I’ll def try it. Also it’s annoying to have to deal with all the clicks to get through the timer notification, which is instructions if you are new to using it. You can “skip timer” and the instructions, but the app experience could be bypassing that for regular users for a better experience. ### 4/5 — The right direction! *2023-05-25* I really love the concept of taking some of our health into our own hands and having deeper awareness of what’s going on with our bodies in a scientific manner. This program gave me an affordable space to do that. I think there’s so much that can be done with this technology and I hope they continue to develop it and offer different types of cards specialized to different needs. My only complaint with the company is how hard it was to cancel when I needed to but I’m hoping that is something they will take into account and improve. I’m looking forward to restarting my membership when I can. It seems like this company is constantly working on improvements and it makes me excited about what’s to come potentially. ### 4/5 — Honestly, very helpful *2021-09-20, version 2.1.0* So far, I’m impressed! This is my second week testing and using Vessel. I think the user experience is basically perfect - easy, fun, and aesthetically pleasing. On my first week, I learned that my magnesium and electrolytes were low, and cortisol was high. I also learned that my ketones levels were high, which confirmed my intermittent fasting was working. I’ve been feeling fatigued, so this gives me steps to at least try. I’m into it! I recommended Vessel to my family :) ### 2/5 — Cortisol needs fixing *2021-07-25, version 2.0.2* So i bought this to specifically test for cortisol. I’ve tested 4 times and it’s only been able to read cortisol 2xs. I need to use 2nd urine because urinate a lot at night. They don’t tell you to do this until you waste a card. This is nuts. Also I would say lowering a score because of hydration is dumb. Everyone has different needs. Plus somehow when I used my first urine my mag was good but then I take a mag pill and it goes down. Lots of things needs fixing ### 4/5 — Really helpful product *2021-06-06, version 1.1.33* Really interesting and helpful product in identifying my needs to enhance health in a numerous ways. I like how it scores wellness in different areas ..like Focus, Immunity. However, I am unsure what defines Focus, Immunity and how this number is generated. It’s great to see which elements are good and what needs improvement. In the future, it would be helpful to monitor other levels such as Vitamin D, Iron, and Glucose. Overall, great product and I love the idea of optimizing health in comfort of my home. ### 5/5 — Informative and easy to use *2021-06-01, version 1.1.31* Full disclosure. I was asked to test the app and cards by an associate at Vessel. I was not paid and this is my honest review. I requested two cards to sample over a short duration to look at reliability. My tests were conducted an hour apart. Overall, I got consistent results with the exception of cortisol. The second test indicated it was not able to calculate. It seemed that bar was fainter than the first test. Thus, the app wasn’t able to resolve it but visually it replicated. Overall, the results were as I expected. I had a recent checkup, and the findings seemed to be consistent. In terms of the app and recommendations, I found these useful. I added some needed activities to my plan and food to my menu items. The reminders will be useful. I’ll follow this plan for a month and retest. I have been impressed it’s what is measured with the tests and the recommendations to improve my results in the app are spot on! Not to mention, the app gives me access to free nutritional coaches for all my nutrition questions...that is unheard of. I love how simple this is, they ship you the test strips, Which happened to be really well designed, and then you use the app for instructions and results. So easy! A very easy to follow flow, and then the nutritional information you get is key to long-term health. Their whole package is really impressive to me. I’ve never slept better or felt like I’ve had more energy than after I made changes to my magnesium intake and hydration based on Vessel results. I never would have known I had such low results and the impact a change could have. There are step-by-step instructional videos that are so easy to follow go over the process of getting your results, it’s nearly impossible to mess that up. Also the results come in super quick and Vessel does a great job of taking the actual numbers of your results and explaining what they mean and how you can improve them. Have an amazing week and keep the feedback coming please! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service and patient care. *2023-02-16, version 3.0.10* Extremely disappointed in vessel customer service/app. I signed up to track my vitamin/mineral levels, but ended up needing to see a doc instead. I sent an email to cancel but was still charged monthly for years, costing me hundreds. No refund will be issued either, the claim is that since I did not confirm my cancellation email with a follow up email, the cancellation was not valid and past the 30 day guarantee. So Vessel continued to charge me even when my intent to cancel was clear and I was clearly not using the app or logging info. Don’t make the same mistake as me, don’t even sign up. I’ve had the subscription for a year. I’ve used it for 2 months. I was not happy with the product at that point. I continued my subscription (6 months) then tried to cancel. The only way to cancel even after not being happy with this is to go back and “pay to get out of the contract” I’ve had better luck getting out of gym memberships than whatever this cult is. I’m absolutely frustrated. I have a 40+ cards that I won’t use and about $280+ wrapped up in this. They offered to let me “pay my way out” by giving them the higher rate. Terrible business practices. Product might be good for someone else. The idea is amazing. However your not a customer, just a bank account to these people. ### 1/5 — Bad User Experience: App tries to do too much *2022-02-22, version 2.1.9* I love the core concept of this app: get meaningful health data from your pee so you can act on it and improve your life. But the app is filled with fluff and annoying barriers that fight against a user trying to focus on this simple core concept. The test strip analysis technology seems good, but it’s buried under layers of crap. This app tries to do too many different things instead of focusing on doing one thing well. For example, I’ve been a user for months. Today I peed on the strip, opened the app to scan it, and the app FORCED me to go through a whole tutorial and pick 3 goals then pick 1 priority goal and then pick a bogus reason why I wanted that goal just so I could get out of it and actually scan my pee strip. There’s no reason this app shouldn’t always provide a fast way to open the app and scan a card. Just let me pee on the card and keep track of the results. All this other garbage is getting in the way, and it keeps getting worse as I continue to use the app and this company adds more friction to the process. ### 1/5 — Really Bad *2022-01-06, version 2.1.8* Updated: I finally was able to get my account cancelled over email, but be aware they will call you and do anything they can to stop you from cancelling, it was really hard. Also I tried my first card and I don’t trust the results. So I’m leaving up the rest of this review - Original review: Watch out: You get locked into a year membership (which it doesn’t tell you that when you sign up - it’s very misleading), and their customer “support” is not good. I can’t even get into my account on their website to change/cancel - it says “their team is working to fix it” but so far no improvement. Also there is no live chat on their website, unless it’s really well hidden! The website has lots of bugs too. This product holds a lot of promise but in my experience it fails to deliver. **Developer response:** We are so sorry to hear about your experience thus far. The tracking also has not moved in days but it’s not like I can reach out to see if this is the norm or an actual issue. Not impressed so far. I hate poor customer support. I see In the reviews that you cannot cancel if you signed in for a year? It says on their site that you can. Shady so far. And don’t tell me to email you. You don’t reply. I haven’t even got my testing strips and I’m ready for a refund. ### 1/5 — Bad and update made it worse *2021-04-23, version 1.1.15* This was bad at reading before. Not all the spaces even read anything (you get 8 readings in the app) there are more spaces on the card than being read in the app. What are they for? The ones it does “read” I feel like it is guessing and not accurate. The latest update is horrible for the photo taking. It takes the photo instantly before you line it up. I had to try several times. I also cancelled my subscription and I just received more testers so I’ll be upset if I was charged. This is a good idea but FAR from being useful. ### 1/5 — Seems to be a random results generator *2021-04-13, version 1.1.12* For weeks Vessel told me my Vit C was too high (even though I don’t take supplements.) Then as a test I started taking supplements and Vessel said my Vit C level was now just right. Furthermore Vessel repeatedly told me that I was over-hydrated (a condition which is rare and certainly not my case.) Similar nonsense for some of the other analytes. Maybe it’s just making stuff up. Maybe the card quality control is off. Maybe the spot-check of urine is just not a useful method for addressing the questions Vessel wants to answer. The product design is clever and the app graphics are fancy, but that’s about the best I can give it. ### 1/5 — Can I give zero stars? *2021-04-01, version 1.1.6* I was excited about this product which began to fizzle as I had to wait months to receive the product. Now that I have it I’m completely underwhelmed by the lack of data, which is completely inaccurate! The data collected is grouped together on one page then you can drill down on each area to see the full results. For example, it shows on one page I’m dehydrated but when you drill down it says I’m over hydrated. Same for the folate data. Save your money, this could be cool but it’s not. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2021-03-27, version 1.1.3* I have to re-upload the app every time I want to scan, the scanning is not all that user friendly and once it does finally scan, according to the results I should apparently be dead. Maybe it’s just not reading properly. I waited over a year to receive my cards and was promised covid antibody cards as a consolation... never received those and the product just doesn’t work. I’m a nutritionist and I was hoping to gain information with these and potentially have clients use this as well but it’s just not worth the hype. ### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work *2021-03-22, version 1.1.3* I was so excited about this and it’s a great idea but there are so many issues with execution. I’ve done three tests over three weeks and half the things do not read (b vitamins, etc) and it says they’re working on it and it’ll be working in a few months — I wonder why you’d offer it if it doesn’t work yet! The things that won’t test (no matter what method I use) are the main reason I signed up in the first place. It says they will send a replacement but I haven’t gotten one yet and I don't want a replacement every time I do it... Also, the results aren’t that in depth and seem mostly like just an ad for getting one of their nutritionists or supplements instead of explaining what the score means thoroughly. Finally, it takes forever to scan (and fail!) and it’s overall a pretty underwhelming experience. I wish it was better! We had members requesting this service and the availability of supplements so we listened and rolled it out. As far as the packaging, the initial shipment does come in a larger box with some added contents like a stand to hold your cards on your counter... At the beginning of 2022 I began to gain weight due to stress and job change (sitting all day now). I wanted to hire a nutritionist or get blood work but my friend told me about vessel which took care of both needs for a literal fraction of the price. The best part is it’s all done at home! Their service is great too. They have real people and their super nice and helpful (email, chat and phone). I had been IF for years. Per their advice I stopped fasting and began eating oatmeal for breakfast every morning. This curbed my appetite and I stopped overeating my other two meals of the day. As I began to see results, it empowered me to quit snacking and really get lean. Now I have my energy and focus back. Easy to use and you have access to doctors right from the app which makes them even more legit. I really like that I can test first thing in the morning and know within minutes how my body is doing. I was having problems sleeping and this is helping me get back on track so i have the proper nutrition. I also have been monitoring my cortisol levels I knew they were out of balance and vessel is helping so much! The very reasonable price point (sadly) made me skeptical, but I feel like that’s because it’s been taught that everything quality health/customer service etc etc etc is supposed to cost crazy amounts of money. Wrong. I have been using vessel and found it extremely accurate AND loved the useful information it give you at the end of each test. It shows you options, multiple options so you aren’t given one choice AND you aren’t forced into buying other things or spammed with anything. They also walk you through step by step each time you use a vessel test with timer, or you can skip it and time yourself. Customer service is great. Overall the product is amazing, the app that comes with it and guides you and helps you is amazing, customer service same, the nifty box that keeps everything in one place organized nicely all wonderful. This is coming from someone very critical of action suggestions/vitamin/health/food suggestion for vitamin levels or high cortisol etc etc given my health background. I wasn’t paid for this review, I’m just that blown away. It’s given me piece of mind I haven’t had in a long time. I really try to review new and less common apps especially bc it’s hard to find reviews for them. Overall, the testing was easy. I kept forgetting that I needed to not eat or drink before testing so it took me putting the test by the toilet the night before so I’d see it first thing. Now that I have my results,I’m able to move forward and get healthier. I am a Functional Medicine Health Coach and I am always digging into my own body and how to optimize/ bio-hack every component of my health. This is such an easy at home way to test vitamins in your body that are water soluble. This does mean that it can vary day to day, week to week, and month to month - a bit more than a blood test - but this is perfect for checking up on yourself for key nutrients every so often. 5 stars for ease and functionality. I really am hopeful more nutrients are added in the future. It would be awesome to see a full mineral panel as well as all water soluble vitamins that can be tested with this method.
