Kinda pricey for something you have to pay a subscription for but it makes sense since it runs on software and has to access the internet / stock market etc. Love the look. The mechanical sound is even better. Plus my device will not connect to the internal WiFi of the device. It keeps telling me it will not connect connect. And yes, I gave it every permission. Even deleted my account and tried again. Same problem. Basically , I bought a 40 pound paper weight. I guess this device is really old school. Back to the caveman days. You use paper weight ### 1/5 — App update fails at the basics *2026-04-08, version 2.2.0* The updates to the app are such that the mute for a period of time functionality is now inoperable. The only way to quiet the darn thing is to unplug it. Repeated resets, reloading of the app, logging out and back in fail to fix the error. This is a non-starter. ### 1/5 — Absolutely no free services to use with your new board *2024-12-22, version 1.25* Quite disappointed that there’s nothing to use on my Vestaboard to keep it active without having to update it every single time and the cost for the paid versions are utterly ridiculously high to send a signal for a limited use board ### 1/5 — Primitive free features that don’t promise anything better. *2023-02-24, version 1.19* This app is supposed to be the interface between users and the device. Unfortunately, The manual editor is painfully clunky. There isn’t any way of previewing or editing the “auto-arrange” quotes, which in practice means ‘hope you like left-justified text with no particular control over the lines’. For a $3300 piece of equipment, useful basic tools that are equal to (or better than, ideally) a literal monospaced plaintext editor would be really appreciated. Furthermore, typing with a Bluetooth keyboard in the manual editor just doesn’t work on my galaxy tab. You have to use some strange onscreen keyboard, which is just ridiculous (Yes, this is an android app feature, but it’s the same app.) I would be fine with this if there were another interface. But this is the only way to change your Vestaboard. How is it this bad? There’s a lot to improve. ### 1/5 — App still impossible to use *2022-10-30, version 1.15* It seems like feedback from a year ago still hasn’t improved. Be careful what you tap on in the app because it’ll take at least a full minute to load (if it doesn’t run into an error and require you to restart the app). It’s disappointing that Vestaboard clearly doesn’t prioritize app improvements because by the time you buy your hardware you’re locked into the software. Sigh. ### 1/5 — App is frustrating, product is garbage *2021-07-26, version 1.9* Out of the box, this thing looks great…but it doesn’t work. Seems to be a widespread issue. Neat product but recommend waiting a few cycles for them to fix major quality concerns.
