## What is Vetra for Safari?

Vetra shows you, right in Safari, what your own AdGuard Home blocked for the page you have open – and lets you act on it straight away, without opening the web interface.

TURN IT ON FIRST
Vetra is a Safari extension. After installing, switch it on: on the Mac in Safari → Settings → Extensions, on iPhone and iPad in Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. The app itself only shows you these steps.

THIS PAGE
• Every host the open page loads – including third parties such as a CDN – split into blocked and allowed
• The rule that matched, in plain words
• Filter check for the domain: would it be blocked, and by what?
• Allow or block straight from the list

THIS DEVICE
• All queries of a single client, switchable right in the panel
• Client names from AdGuard Home, your choice is remembered per server

OVERVIEW
• Blocked share, queries and response time at a glance
• History over the last 24 hours or 30 days
• Most blocked domains, most queried domains, busiest clients
• Filter lists, phishing protection, parental control and safe search – readable and switchable

QUERY LOG
• The full query log, searchable by domain or client
• Filters for blocked, allowed and rewritten
• Time, reason, query type, cache, rule and duration for every entry

RULES
• Add, edit, switch off instead of deleting, or remove your own rules
• Edit everything at once as text
• Filter lists with rule count, age and a refresh button

ALSO
• "Find on network": at the tap of a button Vetra looks for your AdGuard Home at common home-network addresses – you adopt a result with one tap
• Several instances, switchable with one tap
• Pause protection briefly: one minute, ten minutes, an hour or indefinitely
• Light, dark or follow the system; free accent colour; compact layout; an icon per server
• German and English

WHAT VETRA DOES NOT DO
Nothing happens after installation. Vetra connects to nothing on its own. You enter your instance yourself – or let "Find on network" look for it on your home network; the search runs only when you tap the button, and only then does Safari ask for permission. It looks only for AdGuard Home, uses no credentials and sends nothing to third parties. Afterwards Vetra withdraws the broad permission right away; day to day it only needs access to your own instance.

There is no vendor server, no analytics, no ads and no account. Vetra reads no page content, no forms, no bookmarks and no history, and changes nothing on pages. From the open tab it reads only the host names of the files the page loads – and asks nobody but your own instance about them.

WHAT YOU NEED, AND LIMITS
You need your own AdGuard Home that your device can reach (tested with version 0.107). The query log only shows what is actually resolved through AdGuard Home; if name lookups bypass your resolver (for example through iCloud Private Relay or encrypted DNS on the device), it stays empty – and Vetra says so. Anything a page only loads later may be missing from the list.

Vetra is not a product of AdGuard Software Ltd. and is not affiliated with it. "AdGuard" is a trademark of its respective owners.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 0.5.1 — 2026-10-16

New: a warning in the server dialog when user name and password would travel unencrypted over http://.
If you enter an address without http:// or https://, Vetra tries https:// first – http:// only when you choose it.
Allow and Block now appear only for valid domain names; odd names in the log stay visible but can no longer create a rule.

### 0.5.0 — 2026-10-15

No release notes.
