### 3/5 — Love the information and feel for this app

*2022-11-15, version 1.1.01*

I l love this app in so many ways. But please update it!

Pros: love the layout. Easily accessible to get to all the things.
Has so many things!
Pictures for references
In depth reading articles that condense a subject
Has real practice tests with a timer at the top and tells you your score afterward with what percentage you got and how long it took on each question (approximate)
Practice questions are great too. Has a bunch of subjects.
And of course after each and every question, it tells you an explanation of the why.
There is also so much more you get as well.

Cons: The original screen told me how many days were left before my test. I miss that!
It has many bugs where it causes my test to crash or freezes my screen. It has me sign in after I click an option to start anything basically.

I am able to sign in on a desktop and essentially all these issue do go away so… it’s just the app.

Okay, thanks vet tech prep! My test is only a month away so hopefully you can help before I go crazy.

### 3/5 — Glitchy app

*2022-11-13, version 1.1.01*

The x to close out of the page never works so I just have to force close the app. The power pages don’t open 90% of the time. Don’t even try to use the calculator in the app while you’re doing an exam. You’ll never get out of it.

### 3/5 — Power Pages

*2021-10-04, version 1.0.79*

Power pages never load on my iPhone. All i see is a blank page.

### 2/5 — So far not impressed

*2020-02-29, version 1.0.40*

I have used the other VTNE app for a year (I’ve heard that many of those questions are very similar to what is actually on the test)but now that I have a test date thought I’d do this program too since there’s so many more questions. A lot of those questions are repeated. The response time from answering and moving on is painfully slow (and it’s not my internet connection.) I printed off the “power pages” from the website version but using the “image quiz” from an iPhone is once again painfully slow. I don’t recommend solely relying on this program.

### 3/5 — Not needed

*2019-11-23, version 1.0.33*

I studied this app until 2am for over a month. Only 1 question on the test reflected this app. The rest was real world knowledge. I loved the app and enjoyed it, answering every question and every exam. But it DID NOT help me with the real thing. I feel much smarter for downloading it, and loved it, but when the test came, didn’t matter at all.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2026-02-17, version 1.1.13*

Paid for subscription but can’t login just keeps saying “try again..” 🫩

### 1/5 — App not working

*2026-01-31, version 1.1.13*

The app is not working. It won’t let me log in at all.

### 1/5 — App not working

*2026-01-04, version 1.1.13*

Just purchased and it won’t even let me login. Maybe I shouldn’t have… please someone fix this so I can study on my phone

### 1/5 — Over priced

*2022-10-14, version 1.1.01*

$200 for 45 day access! That’s insane!

### 1/5 — Free App?

*2020-07-23, version 1.0.59*

Free app isn’t free. I knew there was a subscription but it did not say that you cannot access any content without a subscription. I downloaded this app with the hope of some free content to help me since I can not afford a subscription.

### 1/5 — No free access

*2020-01-14, version 1.0.40*

Requires payment of over 100$ to access any resources.

### 1/5 — Progress doesn’t make sense

*2019-06-20, version 1.0.24*

The progress percentage is way off. Cmon guys, its basic math. 507 questions out of 1600 is not “16%” done.
Major bugs need to be fixed.
Also, there are multiple repeated questions.

### 1/5 — Bought it.. Failed. Got refund. Bought it again. Failed

*2019-06-03, version 1.0.24*

I have spent eight hours today trying to get this app and getting refunded. Thank God, Apple gave me the refund I still have to wait for it to get to my account after 30 days paid as a big expense of $200. He told me he was a glitch when I emailed a App designer. So I downloaded it again got taken for another $200. I sent them another email and never heard back from them.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t correlate to VTNE well

*2024-12-09, version 1.1.13*

Have had this app for a few months in preparation to take the VTNE last Friday. Although I did pass, I really don’t think this app had much to do with it. 98% of the questions on my VTNE were not on the app, had nothing to do with the majority of what I studied on the app. I felt like I wasted hundreds of dollars and countless hours studying things that didn’t help me in the end.

### 2/5 — Not on the vtne

*2023-03-25, version 1.1.01*

Did not help me on the vtne at all. I was doing so well with this app, studied for 4 months, finished all of the timed exams and practice questions and even went back to restudy. I was getting every question correct and was so excited to take the vtne! I FAILED horribly. None of the questions I studied for 4 months were on the exam. Super sad.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2025-07-07, version 1.1.13*

The membership is quite expensive but it’s so worth it. I studied using only the 3 AAVSB practice exams and vet tech prep app and was able to pass the VTNE on my first try.

I highly recommend using the power pages and power pics on the app not just the questions on their own.

### 5/5 — Get this if you are taking the VTNE

*2024-07-19, version 1.1.08*

This app was well worth the money. I used this as my main study guide for my VTNE, and passed with a 690. The PowerPages and PowerPix were very short and sweet and informative, and every question tells you why the right answer is right and why the wrong ones are wrong in easy to understand and remember ways. Yes its expensive, but so is the VTNE, and I was absolutely not paying to take it more than once!

### 5/5 — Great study tool!

*2022-08-15, version 1.0.86*

I wouldn’t have passed my VTNE without the help of VetTechPrep. It was pricy but worth it because if you fail your just going to have to pay to take it again. Might as well just go for the membership. I bought the subscription a month before the exam. I honestly only started using it literally the day before my exam because I was really procrastinating and I still passed. If I hadn’t used it the day before I would have definitely failed. The practice questions were very similar to the questions on the VTNE.

### 5/5 — Helped me pass!

*2021-09-19, version 1.0.79*

This app helped me a lot to job my memory of things I learned it tech school. I love the explanations that are provided after each question because it really helps you get a better understanding. Take full advantage of the PowerPoint and recourses available! They helped me a lot

### 5/5 — Passed my VTNE!

*2021-07-21, version 1.0.79*

My school offered this app as part of our tuition for after we graduated. I went through 100% of the questions and reviewed part my Pile Of Done before taking my exam. Although the questions on my exam were not “word for word” from the app, a lot of the concepts were similar. After each question on the app, I would read through the explanations, which really helped me remember a lot of concepts. Practicing the questions really helped me to review what I learned in school and helped me get a better grasp on subjects that I wasn’t as comfortable with (such as diagnostic imaging.) It’s nice how the app shows you the areas where you’re strong and the areas where you need improvement so you know how to prioritize your studying. I used this app as my main study tool, and I’m glad I did! I passed my exam with flying colors on my first try this week. :)

### 5/5 — Amazing VTNE Study App

*2020-03-18, version 1.0.40*

I took my VTNE for the first time today and passed! I have to say this app helped a lot! It discusses every catagory that the VTNE touches base on. It also helps get you set into the exam taking mode, I felt a lot more confident about taking my exam today knowing I studied using this app every day. My only comment is I wish you could recycle your questions back into the exam pile once you’ve answered them all. Overall I am really glad I purchased this app since it helped me to pass!

### 5/5 — I absolutely recommend it

*2020-01-29, version 1.0.40*

About 1/2 of the questions from my actual exam where in this app! It really help and I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — 2 month study calendar!!

*2019-04-17, version 1.0.19*

I had taken the VTNE two times before and had gotten the same score twice while using a book recommended by the school. I finally passed after solely using the 2 month study calendar to prepare for my exam - it helped me pass on the 3rd try and there is no doubt that I would passed the first time if I had used this. So worth the money!

### 4/5 — I think it has good coverage of the subjects

*2023-10-23, version 1.1.05*

To be clear… I haven’t written the VTNE yet. Hopefully I can update this review afterwards.

A message for the creators of this app: having a counter of how many times I attempted a question and got it wrong is irrelevant. I want to know how many question are available in that section and how many I got correct so I can measure what percentage my strength is as I’m going through the practice questions. Please don’t put the remaining questions in brackets beside the subject… put the total number in there instead.

This app has about 3000 questions and I really enjoy being able to do a few questions here and there when I have a moment. There seems to be good coverage of all the subjects. I’m currently using this app and the “medical” app to study supplemented with texts. The other app references which page from the textbook it got the info from at least.

It’s expensive, but you get a lot of questions for your money. Plus, the cost of this is cheaper in comparison to the lost wages of not passing the VTNE the first time.

### 4/5 — Great app but FYI the subscription is cheaper through their website

*2020-10-24, version 1.0.71*

45 day subscription when I downloaded this app was $199 if you sign up on the app but only $139 if you sign up through the website - I signed up through the website and then logged into the app to use it. It seemed shady to charge $60 more for no reason and the only way I found that out was the app was glitchy when I went to buy a subscription on it, so I went to the website to complete my registration.
Other than that, it is a good study tool that I have seen recommended over and over among techs who have passed the VTNE. The “powerpages” are decent summaries of the main study topics, but they could really use better visuals especially for things like hematology. But, this is meant to be a practice test format study tool, not a textbook. I used quite a few other resources to study but this was my main app for practice questions. For reference, I am OTJ trained (I live in a state that allows that still) and passed my VTNE on my first try with a decently high score. I used this app for the 45 day subscription before taking my test and completed 80% of the questions.
So, don’t get this app expecting it to be your only study tool, but overall it is a great resource and I do think it helped me pass the VTNE.
