## What is Veya?

Most calorie apps guess. Veya actually looks — it reads the whole plate, from shawarma to sushi, and keeps a composed dish as ONE dish instead of shredding it into the wrong ingredients.

EVERY CUISINE, UNDERSTOOD
Burritos, poke bowls, pasta — and the regional dishes other apps get wrong: shawarma, maqluba, musakhan, falafel, knafeh. Veya recognizes a composed dish as ONE dish, the way you actually eat it, instead of shredding it into wrong ingredients. Portions are sized from what the camera really sees: a large medjool date is not a small one.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL
Every scan becomes editable ingredient rows — fix a name, adjust a quantity, swap a unit. Natural units everywhere: eggs in pieces, oil in spoons, rice in grams.

ARABIC-FIRST. SEVEN LANGUAGES.
The entire experience — not a translation layer — in Arabic, Hebrew, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian, with true right-to-left design.

CALM BY DESIGN
No streaks. No guilt. No red numbers shouting at you. Veya's coaching adapts to your real life and offers a next step — it never pressures. Miss a day? Nothing breaks.

FREE FOREVER, HONESTLY
Manual logging, the barcode scanner, your journal, water tracking, cloud backup and restore — free, always. No account required to start.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.4 — 2026-10-03

Getting started is clearer.

• The first time you log, Veya shows the three ways in — a photo, a barcode, or typing it — and what each one is best for.
• Every way in now says what it costs: one free AI photo a day; barcode scanning and typing stay free, always.
• No barcode on it? The barcode scanner now takes you straight to the meal camera.
• Connect Apple Health during setup and your steps show up on your day by themselves.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-03

Big shared dishes are now easy to log.

• A whole family tray — mansaf, maqluba, kabsa — shows its real weight instead of "large plate".
• New small / medium / large plate buttons: log the plate you ate, not the whole tray.
• Switch any food between plates or pieces and grams.
• Half and quarter amounts work everywhere — half a plate now reads 0.5, not 1.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-30

Easier meal editing: the amount and ingredient editors now close with one tap, and the keyboard dismisses as you scroll. Plus polish and fixes.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-07

Signing in is simpler, your training history is backed up, and the scan screen speaks plainly.

• Sign in or create an account in one step — the app no longer asks the same question twice.
• Export and delete your data now live in Settings, where you'd look for them.
• Training history travels with your account and comes back after a reinstall.
• A quiet Sign in sits in the corner during onboarding, so a returning user skips the questions.
• Changing the date while recording a workout no longer warns about discarding — your picks come with you.
• When today's free AI scan is used, Veya says so calmly instead of showing an error.
• Bottles, cans and packaged food now point to the barcode scanner, which reads the label exactly.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-04

You can now see your daily AI scan before you spend it.

• The camera shows how many AI scans you have left, so you can choose which meal to use one on — instead of finding out after you have taken the photo.
• When the day's scan is used up, Veya tells you the exact time it comes back in your own clock, not a vague "tomorrow".
• Barcode scanning and logging a meal by hand stay free. Always.

Also fixed: text no longer gets cut off at large system text sizes, the portion buttons on a scan result are now labelled for VoiceOver in every language, and the upgrade offer correctly disappears the moment you subscribe.
