## What is VHS Cam?

Turn your iPhone into a 90s camcorder.

VHS Cam records videos and takes photos that look like real tape: soft colors, tracking lines, a glitch between clips and the PLAY ▶ display with a date stamp you can set to any day and time.

• Mini DV 2003 (PRO): crisp early-2000s home video with a running clock
• Hi8 1995 (PRO): warm, soft analog tape with color bleed
• CCD 2004 (PRO): bright digicam photos with an orange date stamp
• Y2K Cam (PRO): the low-res look of an early camera phone
• Super 8 (PRO): warm film grain, flicker and a projector frame

LIKE A REAL CAMCORDER

• Set the camcorder's date and time to any year
• Videos and photos save straight to Photos, ready to share

### 2/5 — It’s decent.

*2026-08-22, version 2.0.9*

Okay, so the effects are fine, it’s free to use, but I just can’t change the date. Can’t change the date or time, which kinda sucks. I also had some problems saving. Overall, it’s kinda janky and weird, but it’s okay. I don’t like how you have to pay to remove the watermark though.

### 1/5 — What’s wrong with the App?

*2026-07-29, version 2.0.9*

I just recently bought the year subscription. Now the whole app seemed to crash! The camera isn’t working when I flip the camera that isn’t working smh I am so disappointed and it’s no one I could talk too to fix the problem

### 3/5 — It’s pretty good!

*2026-07-27, version 2.0.9*

I’m able to make new stuff look old!

### 1/5 — Not good

*2026-06-13, version 2.0.9*

I was only testing it and found it didn’t work properly. You have to export the video after each recording instead of it just saving to your photos/videos. It kept giving me “parsing error”. It sat at the screen saying “exporting” forever and never exported. When I clicked done, the “exporting” still showed up over top of the screen.

### 5/5 — Cool app

*2026-05-24, version 2.0.9*

It’s so cool it makes me feel like I am in a different world

### 1/5 — Horrible UI totally non-functioning app

*2026-03-31, version 2.0.9*

Horrible UI totally non-functioning app. Can’t export the video

### 2/5 — Just bad

*2026-03-07, version 2.0.9*

It’s to much stuff to pay like why can’t you make it free honestly

### 1/5 — Doesn’t save to photos

*2026-02-09, version 2.0.9*

I was tapping save and iPad cannot export JSON

### 5/5 — Me at the hotel

*2026-01-04, version 2.0.9*

Me at the hotel

### 2/5 — Stole £17.99

*2025-12-25, version 2.0.9*

So the app told me to be able to use all the features you have to purchase full version and that there will be a 7 day trial before being debited. Proceeded to do 7 day trial and ended up being charged the full year. The worst thing is I just wanted to edit one video and i won’t be even using the app again so can’t even make moneys worth.
