He says I’m here and when I call him, he says I have to leave, I’m sorry I tried to call customer service. no one picks up the phone without significant hold. I addressed this issue like a multiple times to the customer care. They say we’re gonna fix it and they don’t receive the call so literally lost like three rides doing this did not get picked up once got charged every time it’s terrible. I could give it a negative star only if they were possible, finally uninstalling this liability, disappointed to the extreme. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-10-23, version 4.22.2* I had previously given up on the app due to its unreliability, but I decided to try it out again. However, I must say, I regret it. Why provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for a certain time, only to have the driver pick up more passengers as soon as I get picked up? And to make matters worse, the driver has to pick up passengers in the opposite direction of my journey. Why would they need to pick up passengers 10 minutes north of me if I’m heading south? It simply doesn’t make sense. Don’t give me an ETA and then I end up being at my destination 30 minutes later than the estimated time. I understand being a few minutes off, but half an hour? Ridiculous! ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-09-26, version 4.22.2* This app is just plain terrible you say you updated it but it somehow even worse than before. I don’t buy the five star reviews. They feel like bots because there’s no way real users Think this is OK. I schedule a ride 30 to 45 minutes advance basically almost an hour before I need it and the app just keeps pushing the wait time further out. Drivers claim they’re here when they’re nowhere in sight then they canceled on purpose on top of that the app sets my pick up and drop off right in front of my location but drivers drop me blocks and then complain on how they can’t drop me to the destination that’s on the app because it’s out of the way. And then when I try to pick a timeslot, the app says hi man it won’t let me do it. Or give the one that I have select it away either to get more drivers or just admit the app is not reliable or useful really it’s just a money grab. And short is not convenient. It’s not efficient and absolutely not worth the hassle. Please fix it or rethink the whole thing. Anywhere between 5-15min is still tolerable. Totally useless service currently. Earlier, I used to use this app frequently without any issue but since a month, this app is not trustworthy. Everytime I want to use this service, it shows my area is out of zone. Now if you live in JC you cannot have a drop off in JC which is ridiculous. There’s no point to the app if you cannot even take it locally. I often have trouble getting rides in the morning when it used to be fairly easy and simple. I use it to go to them gym in the morning and I can't even book a ride between 7-8am. I recently sustained an injury and have been using crutches while recovering from a broken bone in my foot. During this time, navigating the city has been extremely difficult — but Via has truly been a lifesaver. Having an affordable, reliable, and accessible transportation option has allowed me to continue getting to important appointments, running errands, and maintaining some independence while injured. I’ve especially appreciated the ease of booking rides through the app and the kindness of the drivers. As someone experiencing temporary mobility limitations, I can’t overstate how valuable this service is — not just for convenience, but for dignity and quality of life. Thank you for helping to make Jersey City a more inclusive and accessible place. Because of this the wait times are long and travel doesn’t seem reliable even if you leave much earlier to get an appointment on time. It will faithfully have the driver pick me up or drop me off at least 2 blocks from the locations I input, even if the driver has to pass those locations on their route. This wouldn’t matter so much if it wasn’t also very inconsistent- ppl might get added to your route or the driver might have to wait for someone at a previous stop, and now you’re standing outside in the cold for an extra 15-20 minutes three blocks from your original location (just to see the driver pass it anyways) ### 2/5 — Useless App *2025-04-02, version 4.17.106* This app was supposed to be so much better than the previous app with a 1-star rating, but its worse! Every time I book a ride, whether it is on an Apple or Samsung device, the app’s booking screen stays frozen. When I quit the app and try to book a new one, it says that it cannot book a ride because a ride is already booked. Mind you, I can’t even see the booked ride. I have to turn my devices off and on and sometimes even uninstall the app from my phone to see the booked ride. When the ride is about five minutes away, it suddenly says that the driver is at the stop, even when they are several corners away, and then they charge me for making the driver wait too long and for missing the pickup. Also, after booking a ride, the pickup spot sometimes changes by three corners two minutes before the driver arrives. And when I am dropped off I’ve been let off over seven corners before my destination. ### 2/5 — Old app was better *2025-04-02, version 4.17.106* The latest update will reroute constantly, your eta will change randomly, even if the via is a minute away.
