The drivers stop to much and just sit y’all need to have scheduled bookings so ppl can get to work on time like this is getting ridiculous and out of hand ### 2/5 — Help! *2024-10-05, version 1004.17.2* I haven’t used this app in two years But I could really use it now I’ve installed and uninstalled the app trying to get it to work Everytime I’ve ordered a ride it says it’s in Power Nap mode! Help! ### 3/5 — Used to be so great *2024-10-05, version 1004.17.2* This app used to be so great. When it said it would be here in 27 minutes, it was here in 27 minutes. Maybe 30. Now? It says it’ll be here in 27 minutes, but I’m lucky if it’s here in 45 minutes! I don’t know if that’s just because Via has become more popular or the drivers are not great or the algorithm changed, I don’t know. But I now have to reserve a seat at least an hour ahead of time if I need to be somewhere in the next hour and 15 minutes. Crazy. It used to be so good. What happened? ### 2/5 — Not a good ride share program *2024-10-02* This had potential to be a great and accessible shared ride service, except it’s not. Don’t expect to rely on this service if you are looking for a reliable way to commute in the city. Many times even calling over an hour in advance results in me still arriving late to my destination for several reasons including, poor ETA time, rides with no updates which results in you having to cancel AND occasionally pay to do so. In my particular city there is a great cultural and language barrier which prevents the driver from even being friendly. I’ve personally watched my ride arrive after an hour only to speed off in front of me to do random new pickup requests. Yes, the app lets you monitor all of this including your drivers location. Occasionally Drivers will even mark you as picked up when you are not, they will check off they have arrived at the location when they haven’t. I’ve gotten into cars that are filthy, with no seats, etc. They need a more serious background check to who they are hiring, many of the drivers are unfamiliar with the area, pooor driving skills, driving barefoot, rude, etc. ### 4/5 — Deberían mejorar sus conductores *2024-09-21, version 1004.17.2* Es buena la aplicación pero deberían meter más conductores responsables por qué en mi caso me han cancelado los viajes seguidos ### 1/5 — Reasons about the via people! *2024-09-13, version 1004.17.2* The people are always on the phone as they drive like that’s unprofessional. The lady Willie Annette and male Randal B are very rude the lady willle had somebody on the phone and disrespecting me as I was riding with her. I need to speak to somebody or I will be having a big discussion with VIA! ### 1/5 — My app just stopped working *2024-08-28, version 1004.17.2* My app stoped working i dont even know why ### 1/5 — Bad!! *2024-08-27, version 1004.17.2* I’ve used Via for the past 2 years and it’s been great I recently moved to West Sac and used it for work, idk what they did but now the range says it’s in San Jose!?!? Like what?? Then I called and asked if they changed it and the lady said no we still only drive in West Sac so I gave her my work address ( which is in West Sac, because I’ve been using it for the past year) and the lady goes “your location is out of our rang” so I asked again if they changed the route to something different and she said no we just can’t pick you up in the address you are asking to be picked up at like I’m in West Sac why can’t I get picked up I had just used it that morning to get to my work and all of a sudden it’s not in range anymore??? Like make that make sense ### 2/5 — Needs some improvement *2024-08-23, version 1004.17.2* It’s convenient when there is no other option sure. But the fact that the app will take away the option to buy a pass just randomly is frustrating since I use it for work and I have to spend $7 a day just to get back and forth to one destination. I’ll try and contact and it takes a week and 3 automated hangups and 4 emails to get an answer and even then it’s not a solution. Not to mention the fact they don’t have ACTUAL WORKING CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBERS where you can speak to an actual human when you need to. You can’t get ahold of drivers anymore either. The pick up and drop off spots are also usually way further than where the actual destination is and the time consuming constant adding of pickups while trying to get to your destination on time. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-08-07, version 1004.17.2* Can never get a ride. If you can it’s usually late. Driver stopped in the middle of a busy 4 lane road to pick me up. Don’t waste your time they are the absolute worst. ### 2/5 — Today had the worst experience with Via so far. *2024-07-26, version 1004.17.2* I had scheduled a Via while on low battery life on my phone, and the car/driver was changed while my phone was dead without me knowing. When the original driver, Temetius, appeared, I was told that I had canceled and that I could not ride. I had to walk 2.4 miles out of my way to purchase a phone charger to find out that the alternate Via I had seen was meant for me before scheduling another pickup with Jacqueline, whose service was otherwise perfect. My complaint I suppose is with not explaining the circumstances properly to the driver. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Bad service *2025-03-21, version 1004.17.2* They close over an hour early and either give you a one minute away ride you gotta run more than a block away to or a 25 minute away ride that may never comes. 😞 ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-02-22, version 1004.17.2* Out of zone. Any place inside the city is out of zone. ### 1/5 — Get closer to the stops *2025-01-25, version 1004.17.2* In Jersey City there’s a lot of elderly people my mother, two aunts, and neighbors included when the VIA pick up a customer 5-7min walk from the pick up. And the drop off maybe just as far. They drop them off to three blocks when they stop, which is ridiculous. These people are old elderly people to walk 2/3 blocks is a lot for them. VIA need to be a little more understanding and considerate and get a little closer to the stops. ### 1/5 — Worst service *2025-01-23, version 1004.17.2* I had a very disappointing experience with Via and would not recommend using their service. On multiple occasions in a single day, I encountered issues with their drivers. They often arrive earlier than the scheduled time and leave without waiting, marking the ride as a no-show and charging 75% of the fare. To make matters worse, drivers do not answer calls, making it impossible to coordinate. In other instances, they arrive later than the estimated time, which keeps changing unpredictably. If you choose to cancel the ride due to these delays, you are still charged 75% of the fare. Their customer service is equally frustrating, as it is nearly impossible to get in touch with them—they seem to completely disregard customer concerns. ### 1/5 — MAKE MORE RULES FOR DRIVERS *2025-01-18, version 1004.17.2* A DRIVER STOPPED AT JACK AND A BOX INSTEAD OF PICKING ME UP I WAS OUT SIDE FOR AN EXTRA 25 MINS and then for them to not even pull up to the location is terrible!!! WASTE OF MY TIME. ### 1/5 — Not a good app *2024-12-11, version 1004.17.2* Horrible, switched me to another via three times in one day and made me late to school. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2024-11-03, version 1004.17.2* I was with a & year old daughter and we weee WAITING for TWO HOURS and this was the worst EXPERIENCE EVER in my life. ### 1/5 — Takes 30 minutes for a 10 minute bus ride? *2024-09-22, version 1004.17.2* The last time I took Via I unfortunately missed my appointment due to it taking 30 minutes to go to the PATH. Which is typically a 10 to 13 minute ride on the NJTransit bus. With that I’ve lost my trust with Via since it takes THREE TIMES as long to get to a place than it would to just to take the bus. Quite unfortunate since I used to love Via and would sing its praises.
