### 1/5 — Doesn’t sync to Apple Health

*2022-01-12, version 1.28*

Workouts show up correctly in the app but don’t sync to Apple Health so it won’t help close your rings or show up in Apple Health/Workouts.

### 1/5 — Embarrassing bad

*2022-01-09, version 1.28*

I use this to connect to a Matrix treadmill. It works occasionally. By occasionally, I mean almost never. The only way to update workouts is to delete the app and reinstall. If it wasn’t for wanting to record the workout data in Apple health I’d just delete it

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2021-11-09, version 1.28*

Doesn’t work
Awful may be a better description

### 1/5 — It’s bad… so bad…

*2021-09-07, version 1.28*

Well it will download and open. And you can “connect” it to Strava and Apple Health. But if you actually want it to sync activities, you are out of luck. After a few days of not not syncing, I’m now getting constant “uploaded with errors” Strava notifications, though nothing actually uploads. So not only does it *not* work, it actually makes things worse as I have to deal with constant error messages.

At this point it seems like they just made this app so they could say that workouts will sync in order to sell the equipment, as I have no idea how something could be this bad for so long without being fixed with an update.

### 1/5 — Out of Business?

*2021-05-30, version 1.28*

I’m pretty sure ViaFit and Johnson Fitness are going or gone out of business. I’ve contacted them repeatedly and they never return calls or emails. The tracking feature of my treadmill no longer works. Avoid this brand if that’s a key feature

### 1/5 — Simply Doesn’t Work

*2021-04-28, version 1.28*

We just purchased a Horizon Evolve 3 Elliptical, one thing that attracted us to this Elliptical was the promise of an Exercise App and Website that could track our workouts and relay this information to other apps.
Since day 1 this app nor Website has done so. I have repeatedly tried to seek support help with this but the responses are that it’s my issue not their’s.
I can’t even consistently record manually be I apparently take pictures with glare according to them. I have yet to find glare in the pictures before hitting the same button.
Don’t waste you time with this app, website or for that matter Horizon/Johnson Fitness.

### 2/5 — Never connects

*2021-04-16, version 1.28*

This is a terrible app, who coded this a middle school person. Never finds other apps and is has zero friendly ways to connect to machines or other apps. Honestly this is extremely disappointing

### 1/5 — Garbage app don’t waste your time

*2021-04-13, version 1.28*

This app is complete trash. I’ve attempted to “capture” and/or manually record my workouts; all attempts have been unsuccessful. I love my elliptical, but could not be more dissatisfied with this app. You’re better off tracking it manually on another app or relying on a smart watch. You’d think a company who has machines in fitness clubs would have a better app—guess not.

### 1/5 — Worthless app

*2021-02-07, version 1.28*

Does not show workout history.
Worthless app

### 1/5 — Never syncs

*2021-02-03, version 1.28*

This app virtually is useless and never uploads to the tracking system.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t sync reliably

*2021-01-15, version 1.28*

I have been using this to sync with my Matrix bike. It seldom works

### 1/5 — Awful App

*2021-01-07, version 1.28*

I paid $3,000 for an elliptical and I got this?
It looks like my 12 year old niece coded it.

### 1/5 — You’re Joking... Right?

*2021-01-01, version 1.28*

I was gifted a Horizon Andes 5 elliptical for Christmas. To use the fitness tracking function on the machine, you MUST use the ViaFit app. For clarity, I’m a huge user of Garmin Fenix, Wahoo speed/Cadence and Strava, working out 3-7 times a week. Here are my problems.

1. The ‘four digit code’ user ID. Obviously, this limits the TOTAL registered users to 10k. 0000-9999. And, it only takes a person perhaps 15 attempts to find a number not already registered.

2. User interface is basic, which is ok, but ViaFits partnership with Horizon requires one to use the app to ‘link’ their fitness machine to wifi. As a Sonos speakers owner which uses similar tech to linkup on wifi, their system is a disaster. Why? There’s no instructions in the manual I received. There’s no YouTube instruction video (I’ve found) to demonstrate.

3. The pairing with existing fitness apps is promising, but far from the industry standard. The good news is linking to other apps is very easy and intuitive. The bad news is the link seems to be info ‘pull’ only and doesn’t ‘push’ the workout to the other app.

Conclusion. The only reason I have this app is that Horizon forced me to use it for their machine. I’m so frustrated with both companies, I’m considering returning the machine to find one that’s technology interface is on par with the machines physical/mechanical abilities.

### 1/5 — Won’t track Matrix elliptical workouts

*2020-11-24, version 1.28*

Synced my Matrix elliptical with the app, but not all of my workouts show up. In fact, most don’t. Very frustrating. It’s also a very feature-poor app compared to competitors. It’s unfortunate that Matrix chose to partner with ViaFit. It drags the Matrix brand down.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t track workouts correctly

*2020-09-23, version 1.28*

I have the app connected to a Matrix trainer, but it fails to track all of my workouts. It also puts the same data as far as calories burned when i do multiple workouts the same day even though they’re different.

### 2/5 — Connection to Health App

*2020-08-23, version 1.27*

It seems like the connection to Apple’s Health app is lost after a day, and the only way to re-establish the connection is to delete the app and download again.

### 2/5 — Lots of issues

*2020-06-02, version 1.27*

First the good:
The setup was pretty straightforward and I was able to get it connected to my Horizon E7 elliptical fairly quickly. I set up an account for me and one for my wife without any problems. It does take a few seconds to log in but it succeeds every time. It also records the activity most of the time. You can also compare workouts by number, distance, calories, etc. it’s a bit clunky but useful.

So, now the bad:
- Sometimes it doesn’t record my wife’s workouts. I don’t know why.
- When it does record a workout, it shows two identical workouts in the app (except for once when it showed - I kid you not - 17 duplicate workouts)
- Workouts don’t show resistance or heart rate.
- The app has two browser based interfaces. The first, viafitness.com has the same info as the app. The second, netpulse.com has a better layout and shows resistance and heart rate data. It also doesn’t have duplicate workouts.
- The integration with my Withings watch was easy to set up but the data it pulls is wrong. For example, I went on a 3 mile run that took about 30 minutes. ViaFit pulled in a workout that was 4.6 miles with a time of 1 day. It has never pulled in an accurate workout.
- There is no way to contact support for the app. The support section of the website only has FAQs.

I use it but mostly the netpulse.com site because it has the best info and no duplicates.

### 1/5 — Not available in Asia

*2020-05-15, version 1.27*

So they sell the product here but this app is not available in Asian app store? This is ridiculous. They could have done it easily but they don’t. This is how much they value the market outside their own country.

### 1/5 — Works part of the time

*2020-04-03, version 1.27*

Many sessions are not recorded automatically and I have to add many times manually. Editing or deleting a workout due to a typo or late addition does not work. Overall I find it is better to use the activity monitor on my Apple Watch although it does not record distance. An app that works part of the time and requires constant manual updates is basically useless so why bother?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t update to 2.0

*2025-08-28, version 2.0*

If you need ViaFit workout history, don’t update to version 2.0. I unfortunately updated, and now all my history has disappeared.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-04-08, version 1.33*

Just realized that I have over 300 workouts all on the same day

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2025-04-03, version 1.33*

3 years waiting to fix sync with apple health. Tech support pleasant but useless. Go with another brand if you track using Apple Health/Apple Fitness. With this need to take off watch for workouts then manually add data.

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE

*2025-01-20, version 1.32*

Super bad app. And it won’t connect to your Matrix equipment. Customer service is even worse. Be prepared to remain on hold for MORE THAN AN HOUR, after which your issue will not be resolved.

### 1/5 — Does not work with Apple Health anymore!

*2024-03-31*

The app seems to have lost its ability to link with Apple Health correctly - I can see AH data in the ViewFit app, but not ViewFit data in the AH app, rendering it useless for logging workouts.

I’ve tried deleting the app and starting again, and have checked permissions, all are correct.

### 1/5 — Just downright terrible

*2024-02-06, version 1.31*

Does not work as advertised. App integration with third-party apps does not work which is very disappointing, especially given the price of the equipment that this app is supposed to work with. I do not recommend Johnson branded equipment like Matrix, Horizon and Vision fitness if you’re looking for “smart fitness” machines.

### 1/5 — Not contesting to Apple Health

*2023-07-01, version 1.31*

I got it to connect mmt Eliptical info to Apple Health. The info makes it to the Viafit app, but no further. I set all the settings in place, but no luck. Does anyone have it working?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t send workout info to Apple Health

*2023-04-02, version 1.31*

I’ve got the Matrix TF50 treadmill. The treadmill sends workout info to the ViaFit app and the ViaFit app says it’s connected to the Apple Health app. The problem is that when I check the Apple Health app for workout information, it’s not there. This very expensive treadmill has a terrible app. They need to update this app now!

### 1/5 — Poor design for such expensive exercise equipment

*2022-04-09, version 1.28*

The ViaFit app is sad.I have a Matrix T75 treadmill. And have been trying to find easier ways of connecting to Apple Health without having to start my Apple Watch every time. The ViaFit app does the very minimum basic function of tracking workouts completed on the treadmill. It says it links with Apple Health and Strava but I have not found that it actually sends the workouts to HealthKit or Strava despite having “connected” them. And Strava in ViaFit lists a date and time with Strava but nothing shows up in Strava.
I guess I will go back to using my Apple Watch while I am using the treadmill. Extremely dissatisfied considering the cost of the treadmill. Looks like this app has been completely abandoned for improvements.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2022-03-24, version 1.28*

Workouts simply stop transferring from Matrix XuR console on our elliptical. Many resets, user deletes, reinstalls, power resets etc. have not helped. Support help requested with no response. Even when workouts were transferring, data was quirky. Not worth the trouble and will look for a better interface app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2019-10-03, version 1.26*

Only problem with this app is, "I haven't started using it way before now" I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Awesome simple app for my Treadmill.

*2019-07-26, version 1.25*

Downloaded this app to compliment my Matrix TF50 treadmill workout. So far it’s been a big help to keep my workout history. One thing to keep in mind is to make sure your connected to your WiFi and after workouts let the machine stay on for 5 minutes and don’t turn it off for the date to transfer to ViaFit servers. Overall I’m very satisfied.

### 5/5 — Viafit

*2017-04-11, version 1.7*

Love it, helps me keep track!!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2017-02-16, version 1.7*

This app helps me and will help you get in fit with the treadmill. I just got it and I love this app that goes with it because you can be on task of your workouts even when your not by the machine!! Abs here I come

### 5/5 — Great App

*2016-09-06, version 1.5*

It's great to be able to have all of my workout info in one place!

### 4/5 — Great app

*2021-05-02, version 1.28*

Keeps me focused and I love the goals you can challenge yourself to. Connects to many significant apps as well. Would not kind a place where you can log and track weight on this app so I am not using multiple apps.

### 4/5 — Excellent Start

*2015-12-19, version 1.3*

I use this to track my workouts on my Elite T7 treadmill. I haven't had any issues with the app so far, although I would like to see workout graph support. At the moment these aren't pushed to this app. Otherwise 4 out of 5 stars leaving room for improvement.

### 3/5 — Works well but captures very few stats.

*2019-03-08, version 1.25*

I use it primarily to capture and record stats electronically from my Matrix elliptical. It does a great job on the limited number of stats it actually captures but it’s nowhere close to capturing all of the stats the elliptical records momentarily for each work out.

### 3/5 — Quirky but overall helpful

*2018-04-27, version 1.20*

I use this to upload workouts from my Horizon Adventure 3 treadmill and although the initial setup was a little difficult, now it seems to be communicating fine. There are still times when my workout uploads to the app without any of the data behind it (distance, cals, speed), but that may also be a function of what program i run that day. Overall, very cool to have my workouts stored much like Nike+, but for inside running!

### 3/5 — Great but no link to IOS Health App

*2017-12-31, version 1.19*

Works great but doesn’t let you consolidate exercise data to the IOS Health App. Not sure why this hasn’t been added. Most competitive apps offer this functionality.
