### 2/5 — Expensive

*2026-07-19, version 2.9*

Expensive

### 2/5 — Not great.

*2026-06-19, version 2.9*

App wouldn’t find station, and station wouldn’t take credit card. Eventually reset and worked, on a different charger.

### 3/5 — Difficult connecting

*2026-05-25, version 2.9*

I had a difficult time connecting with the first pump. Then I tried the other pump closest to the building and got it going through the app.

### 4/5 — Login unclear

*2026-05-07, version 2.9*

First time user. Insufficient screen prompts to tell you to ho to Home screen where to click to start charging

### 2/5 — An amateurish effort. Needs a lot of help.

*2026-03-15, version 2.7*

The app is missing features that are standard by now (bookmarks or favorites, stop a charging session in progress, etc.)

The backend is frail with a poorly architected data model, and customer service is slight and ill-equipped.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2025-10-24, version 2.6*

App and chargers work great for my Mustang Mach-e. These do not appear on most e-charger location apps.

### 1/5 — Billing error not correct even after 3 phone calls

*2025-09-12, version 2.6*

I was charged for a session that supposedly lasted over 20 hours, for 98 kWh (my battery is only 90!). I’ve called and talked to a REAL person 3 times, said it would be reversed. Still charged me.

### 4/5 — Wedding departure

*2025-08-24, version 2.6*

Livingston charge port did not have four digit station id. No response from promised call back!

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2025-08-20, version 2.6*

There is no savings - in fact - the price of gas works out to be cheaper than for the same amount of miles you get for this electric charging here.

### 1/5 — I don’t know what this is

*2025-08-20, version 2.6*

Or why it’s trying to deduct from my bank. Good luck I can’t even afford to eat.

### 1/5 — Not as easy as ChargePoint stations.

*2025-08-05, version 2.5*

It is a bit of a hassle to: 1) open the app; 2) plug in the car; 3) find the station site; 4) select the charging station; 5) update the app if needed; 6) log back into the apps after the update; 7) wait for the code to be sent to your email to verify the app login; 8) Enter the code; 9) restart the app and repeat steps 1-4; 10) wait for the charge to begin.
This all takes about 1-2 minutes if the app correctly located the station. The app just said I was almost a mile away from the station I used. A ChargePoint station allows you to: 1) remotely connect your phone to unlock the charging station. 2) plug-in and charge the car. The ChargePoint system takes about 10 seconds. If I were installing stations at my business I would NEVER use the Livingston Charge system unless they offer a remote connect option like ChargePoint. The Livingston system feels clunky, slow, and just leaves the user feeling a bit frustrated to have to go through all the steps. The system does do the job to charge the car. But in this day and age, these systems should be operating in a streamlined fashion to seamlessly connect with our phones. The Livingston system just feels like a system being adopted by a second rate operator or something out of the Dilbert cartoon where more bureaucratic steps are put in place to slow down a process that should be so simple.

### 1/5 — Worst EV Experience Ever

*2025-07-26, version 2.5*

To be fair the app isn’t quite as poor as the infrastructure but support is non-existent. Multiple calls provided no help and promises to call back not kept. This may not be the fault of the app developer but I would steer clear of this network of incredibly slow level 2 chargers unless you’re dire straits and it’s your sole option.

### 1/5 — Worst EV charging company

*2025-07-24, version 2.5*

Very rarely do I wish for a company to go out of business but I honestly hope ViaLynk ceases to be around in a few years. The absolute most greedy and unreliable ev charging company. Get your heads out of your know where.

### 1/5 — Pain in the butt to use w/o cell service

*2025-06-20, version 2.4*

Also doesn’t use Apple Pay, you have to prove personal information and card number.

### 1/5 — Do not use

*2025-05-18, version 2.4*

Abysmal service, terrible app, inaccurate and confusing info.

### 2/5 — Poor sites

*2025-04-23, version 2.4*

Went a location in Victor NY, Eastview Mall, has 10 ViaLynk stations but is NOT on the ViaLynk map so could NOT use, nor could I get someone to help, only an answering service. Not impressed with this, as it’s my first time using ViaLynk.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — User

*2026-08-11, version 2.9*

“ Livingston charge port” is the name on the stations and the phone number takes you to them, as does the QR code. But ViaLynk by Lynkwell appears to be the service you are supposed to use to enable charging at these stations. It is very confusing. I learned this after I had already paid a monthly subscription fee to Livingston on the spot to try charging the car, getting nowhere. Finally, I discovered the ViaLynk app and saw I had used one of these very stations years ago and already had an account. What a crock!!

### 1/5 — Difficult and unreliable

*2026-07-08, version 2.9*

ViaLynk is one of the most difficult EV charger I use. Confusing, bad UX and UI, and often show error on charging

### 1/5 — Too Much Work

*2026-05-07, version 2.9*

They make you jump through hoops just to get a charge. It should be way easier like Electrify America or EvolveNY.

### 1/5 — Infuriating to setup while on a road trip

*2026-05-04, version 2.8*

Takes more time to sign up and pay than to charge, trash app

### 1/5 — Save Payment Imfo

*2026-04-26, version 2.8*

This is a terrible practice! You should be giving the option to manually enter a payment option at each session and not be forced to save it! Every time I have to save my payment info makes it less and less secure!

### 1/5 — Chargers stop mid charging

*2026-03-03, version 2.7*

EV charger stops charging in the middle of charging. I try to reset the charge but it says, idle and will not reset. Contacted customer service many times but no help! I don’t recommend paying for their service.

### 1/5 — Waste of Time

*2025-11-25, version 2.6*

Decided to try a new charging option. Downloaded app, put in account information and was ready to go. No instructions on units for how to utilize service and their design is clearly not self-explanatory. The customer service number sent me to a third party answering service that was of no help. I was given the option to leave a message. My message was that ViaLynk lost my business before I had a chance to charge even once. I figure that poor customer service and an initial bad experience is most likely indicative of the company’s overall quality.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2025-11-10, version 2.6*

Hard to figure out use at the charger

### 1/5 — Bad App Bad Chargers Bad Service

*2025-10-17, version 2.6*

Their chargers aren't labeled so you don't know what's what in the app. The idea of a $25 charge on the account to use the charger even if you don't use $25 is crazy and how companies create more cash flow by holding onto your money. Support hung up on me after being them typing on the computer for two seconds.

### 1/5 — marginal

*2025-10-15, version 2.6*

buggy, quirky, requires a lot of patience on the part of the user

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great charging servic

*2026-06-02, version 2.9*

Great charging services

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-02-01, version 2.7*

This is the lowest cost charging in my area, by far, and it’s easy to use. Just plug it in and initiate the charge from the app like every other ev charging app.

### 5/5 — Started charge no problem

*2025-09-04, version 2.6*

Thank you

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2025-08-24, version 2.6*

5 stars

### 5/5 — Easy Sign Up

*2024-09-17, version 2.4*

I just downloaded and used this app for a fast charge in Brattleboro VT, and it worked well. Above average sign up experience, and I was happy to know that I did nor need to pre-pay before charging. In-app FAQ is very clear. Good work developers!

### 5/5 — Slithery little snake

*2024-07-20, version 2.3*

I like when I push the button and the cord comes out like a snake. A slithery little snake.

### 5/5 — BIG Gratitudes for the Grace cottage hospital, Townshend VT, install April 2024!

### 5/5 — Livingston Oelwein Library

*2024-05-06, version 2.2*

Used successfully, needed to download the app and start acct. Charging was free, but need to start from the app.

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2024-03-29, version 2.2*

Not super fast, but once you have the app it’s easy and since I’m stopped for the night it ok if it takes awhile to charge.

### 5/5 — Suggestions

*2023-09-25, version 2.0*

Ability to favorite a station so you don’t have to hit multiple buttons every time you want to charge.

Apple Shortcuts Support

Apple Watch Support

Ability to pay per charge instead of monthly

Thanks. Love you guys
