After all the pandemic time it is a joy to return to being in the world. I love how easy VibeMap is to use, and how writers describe places. With so many people receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and being allowed out again, Vibemap launches at the perfect time! I can’t wait to start exploring new places and meeting new people based on my vibes 🙌🏽😌 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t even use it *2025-06-14, version 4.4.0* This app crashes anytime I try to select a location ### 1/5 — Nothing Special *2024-11-12* I tested this on my city where I’ve lived for 25 years. Literally showed zero “hidden gems”. All the same stuff you’d find on google maps or yelp (actually fewer!). The “vibes” are nothing you couldn’t denote from the Google listing. I don’t understand why anyone is paying for this. ### 1/5 — crashing *2022-07-28, version 2.7.3* app used to crash whenever i tried to search an area, but now will not open at all! i really enjoy using this app when it works, it has some good spots near me, but its totally useless if i cant even open the app! ### 1/5 — Bad performance; mediocre product *2021-10-11, version 1.3.8* This app crashed within minutes of browsing an article. Memory leaks out the wazoo. The product itself is no different than eventbrite. ### 2/5 — Drains battery *2024-02-04* Used the app for a scavenger hunt and my battery was completely drained after 2 hours. Many of my photos didn’t upload and got no notification that they didn’t. ### 3/5 — Great concept, mainstream recs *2021-11-19* Love the concept! Got a flier at the Oakland first Friday event, downloaded the app, and was very pleasantly surprised when it asked me to check in with myself for them to generate recommendations… but the recommendations weren’t so great. I put in “adventurous” and “rebel” as my vibes and got some very mainstream, mellow recommendations in response. In general the businesses/spots recommended were all pretty well known/bougie places. Leaving this review bc I would love to redownload once its recs are built up more! **Developer response:** Thanks so much for this helpful review! Their app and website both have tips, short descriptions, and options for you to chose which vibe you want to experience. The amazing layout and color schemes make it very simple to navigate the app and create a very chill atmosphere. I would highly recommend taking advantage of their “check-in nearby” option to map your visits better by finding interesting places near each other.
