### 4/5 — Ottimo

*2025-07-20, version 2.5*

### 4/5 — Nicely written for many different skill sets

*2025-04-14*

This program has been in use for more than two years and it has proven to be quite effective. Most often it controls two 4-light trees and a wall washer that is operating independently of the trees. It replaced an ‘obey 40.’ It is also used in a two universe arrangement with a separate iPad for each universe. Both scenarios utilize Chauvet AN2 bridges. It has performed admirably.

The only item that would make a significant impact to ease of use would be an audio trigger for the BPM light sequence timing. A bluetooth remote microphone option to the internal microphones would be a level above.

Working the audio mixer takes precedence in the mentioned situations so sometimes the lights are on timing from the previous song. A remote BPM audio trigger would handily resolve the issue.

The interface is uncluttered and well organized. It is obvious that this software is quite capable of handling a much larger more involved system than the above mentioned.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-05-29*

Great interface and it allows editing of scenes while shows are running unlike competitors. Needs more support for moving heads, and needs more updates. Updates are VERY infrequent. I’ve emailed the team about some bugs I’ve found, with no responses. Keep up the good work guys but please provide some updates. Please provide better release notes so we know what OS version is safe to use with Vibrio.

### 3/5 — Needs more functionality

*2023-02-17*

This app would be a lot better if you could change the name of the fintures so you can reference what they are in your show

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2022-01-14*

This controller app is super easy to use, and has great features, especially for the price. It’s nice to be able to layer scenes. One thing I want updated is the fixture profile. The fixture profiles are very limited and only includes older discontinued fixtures. I have to make my own profile for just about every single light I own. Also, the effects for movements could be improved. All in all, I think this is one of the best DMX controller apps you can get for the features you get for the price.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2021-06-10*

I like this app for controlling my band's DMX lights. A few tweaks and it could be a great app! I would like to be able to turn Lights on for 15 or 20 minutes without having to have enter a specific color or scene at 30 seconds per scene until I get the time I am trying to set...

### 4/5 — Very Easy To Use l Like It

*2021-05-02*

After an Update some Times It’s Hard To Connect With The Dmx King Adapter

### 4/5 — Great app

*2019-12-10, version 2.3.2*

UPDATE: DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK WITH iOS13. Crashes whenever loading a show. Please update!

Great app with the potential to be the go to iPad DMX app. Great interface and it allows editing of scenes while shows are running unlike competitors. Needs more support for moving heads, and needs more updates. Updates are VERY infrequent. I’ve emailed the team about some bugs I’ve found, with no responses. Keep up the good work guys but please provide some updates.

### 4/5 — Excellent but room for development.

*2019-01-13, version 2.3.2*

Firstly this beat Luminair for me by far, which has done my head in. It’s a much better workflow and adding custom fixtures is easy and adding many off them is how it should be. Luminair has better animation options and audio syncing but it’s such a nightmare to setup rigs as you have to add fixtures one at a time and every slider is on a single view for every channel, no hierarchy for efficient use. The logic to Luminair is crazy. Vibrio however is clean, efficient and works well. I wish it had better animation options (effects). You can only seem to set a bpm in the effects editor which is useless as it needs to be altered live. But some of the finer details are well thought out and all in a logical and obvious place. It did crash once or too but not during a live show yet. I think with a bit of develop this could be the market leader. Saved the day for a few shows that I gave up with luminaire. It also beats photon and light rider for me as there aren’t any gimmicks here.

Would be top marks if there were more effect controls and if bmp was on a live performance level (with scene transition time maybe).

### 4/5 — Works great

*2018-12-14*

Works great! Needs update.

### 4/5 — Console lumière de poche

*2018-11-13, version 2.3.2*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Gruselig!

*2025-06-16, version 2.5*

Seit ewigen Zeiten kein Support mehr. Midi funktioniert immer noch nicht.
Rausgeschmissenes Geld für die Zusatzkanäle. Ich hebe jetzt zu Daslight gewechselt. 100x besser und professioneller

### 1/5 — User interface lacking

*2024-12-02*

user interface is far from intuitive. Would like to be able to address more than one universe

### 1/5 — Worked ok until I bought it

*2024-03-16*

Now my fixtures don’t show up in scenes under edit

### 1/5 — Can’t add fixtures

*2023-06-08*

I can’t add fixtures ipadios 16 nothing shows up .

### 1/5 — Application non finie …!

*2022-10-14, version 2.3.9*

### 1/5 — Doesn’t load manufacturers fixtures

*2021-07-17*

What should be the selling point is what it is lacking. Doesn’t load generic or manufacturers fixture profiles, leaving you to figure out each profile and channels on your own. I specifically chose this app so that I could just choose from existing profiles. Please fix

### 2/5 — Klasse Software die stabil läuft, aber …

*2026-03-05, version 2.5*

### 2/5 — Lied about chanels

*2023-04-09*

Before I purchased this, I saw that it said free 512 chanels. So I thought, ok not bad, looks decent, and I downloaded it and it’s limiting me to 9 channels. Toast production did so bad on this software so don’t get it.

### 2/5 — Lack of support

*2020-09-19, version 2.3.3*

I love the idea of this App and the free version looked and worked great. However since I upgraded to the 256 version there seems to be a bug in the Items and Effects menu on my iPad2. (One of those thing but .....)
I have been trying to get help and join their 'closed' FACEBOOK group for 2 weeks and I have yet to have a reply to my numerous emails. It may be accidental or deliberate but the lack of response and inability to discuss ideas and techniques with other users is very poor customer service. The manual could do with a lot of work to explain how to get the most out of the App. It is very hard to understand the logic. However when it works it is fantastic, I just wish they would let me join the Vibrio community to communicate with other users and solve what could possibly be a very simple issue.

### 2/5 — Nice app but unsuitable for home/private use

*2018-05-27, version 2.3.1*

I really like all the functionality but 16 DMX channels are not quite enough for a home party with only a few devices like fog machine, some RGB spots, a strobe and 2 moving heads. I’d pay like 10 Euro for a in app purchase which unlocks 64 channels.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Vibrio

*2026-07-08, version 2.6*

I first found Vibrio recommended on some YouTube channels,
And have been using since then,
I has its limitations, but if you plan the show out before setting inside the venue you can save yourself some time,
Create profiles for the new fixtures,
Load all the lights that will be used on the show,
That will give you a list of the DMX addresses ,
Load all the appropriate addresses into all the fixtures!
I am lucky I can bring the lights home for a ruff test,
The only thing missing is the position files,
I often create everything , then at the gig I only have positions to enter ! Create Sequences & effects to add complexity to the shows, I am doing sound at the same time , so I need it to take the stress out of situation,
I have been doing lights for over 40 years ,
But I need control of the design stage, as I have been dumped in festival gigs where I hate the concepts of coverage & had to deal with it ! I can say it was at all enjoyable !
I just say no ! Better to have control in the design stage,
Rock & roll lighting sucks !

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2025-04-11, version 2.4.1*

Yep, absolutely phenomenal. Better than Luminair and no subscription needed. Try out the 16CH free version - it’ll be worth it. Easy but powerful effects generator. Intuitive scene playback workflow.

Ideas for future versions? Custom layout of tiles (i.e. place tiles anywhere on the grid). Better display of tile names (text wrapping?) and option to use background image for tiles.

### 5/5 — Needs to be able to run in background

*2024-10-26*

I like this app and have been using it for live shows for a couple years now. But there is one glaring issue that will drive me to look elsewhere and that is the inability to run sequences when app is running in the background. I use a single iPad to both mix and run lights. I pop back and forth to change scenes as needed but I really need the sequences to continue to run while I’m mixing. Developers, please add this capability!! With background capability I would rate it a 5.

### 5/5 — Die beste Licht Steuerung!

*2023-12-05, version 2.3.11*

### 5/5 — So thankful for this app

*2021-07-28*

Vibrio is simple to use, powerful, highly customizable, and best of all… free to get started. With Luminair charging for subscriptions, folks who need something good but simple have very few good options (I only have 4 lights). I tried StageLight, Photon 1 and 2, Luminair, and ended up setting up QLC+ on my Mac after being disappointed with the iOS choices. Then I saw Vibrio… with it’s easy to set up sequences, scenes, and presets, not to mention MIDI CONTROL (HUGE). Thank you!

### 5/5 — Good for sound engineers!

*2021-05-15, version 2.3.7*

I like this app, coming from a sound engineer into lampie world.

It’s all laid out well and works as I would hope.

I checked out Luminair but to me that didn’t feel as intuitive or powerful despite it being the most popular.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2020-03-07*

Vibrio is an economical yet robust DMX light controller. I am using with a Netgear wireless router and eDMX 1 PRO by dmxking. Everything was pretty much plug and play. The only hiccup was figuring out how to set up the channels for my lights. Once I got that figured out the fun really began. Scenes are a breeze to create and multiple scenes can be layered. Response between app and lights is instantaneous with no lag. I have not tried the midi feature yet so cannot comment on that. Sequences bring automation and life to the show. The greatest feature is having the ability to operate the lights from anywhere within range of my WiFi signal. There are some things I would like to see added that would make it a little more flexible but for the price and reliability, you can’t go wrong with this app.

### 5/5 — Easy to use. Very effective.

*2019-10-25, version 2.3.2*

What a great app to use for DMX lighting.
All that was required was a DMX to Ethernet adaptor to a router.
Fixtures are easy to add, customise and move into groups.
Scenes are easy to create with customisable effects.

### 5/5 — Läuft Prima!

*2019-07-14, version 2.3.2*

### 5/5 — Best DMX app out there

*2018-12-04, version 2.3.2*

I’m am by no means an expert when it comes to the world of DMX, however this app makes me look like one! It was easy to set up, create scenes and sequences. It has added a new dimension to my bands live shows thanks to the ease of use of this app. Highly recommend getting.
