### 1/5 — Connection lost on all three traps now

*2025-07-05, version 2.5*

Push notifications haven’t been working for quite some time, but I could still open the app and check the status of the trap. It seems like that’s no longer the case. All three say Connection Lost. It’s such a shame because I have these traps in places that are hard to check regularly, making the WiFi aspect so helpful. Now I’ll likely need to throw them out and just go back to multiple manual traps. Zero communication from the app developer.

### 1/5 — Was good now garbage

*2025-07-05, version 2.5*

Don’t buy!!! They constantly disconnect from app. If they even connect at all anymore. Waste of money. 4 useless traps now.

### 1/5 — May as well buy the wooden ones.

*2025-06-25, version 2.5*

These do work. Once. Now I cannot get them to reconnect to the WiFi. One reviewer said to buy something else to split your connection. Super easy, huh? What I heard was wah-wah-wah wah-wah. (Remember what Charlie Brown’s teacher sounded like? That. That’s what I heard. Lol)

Too bad Victor can’t be bothered to provide support for their products. Or employ a proper engineer to fix the issue.

I’ll buy their wooden ones. Sigh.

### 1/5 — Products lost connection

*2025-05-21, version 2.5*

Don’t buy this apparently they seems to have a programmed obsolescence all 6 or my trap now losing connections all the time.

Was the perfect product but now they are acting like any other trap i most verify every days manually :( don’t get rip off and buy normal trap. Save yourself trouble and money fighting with a product that have not the support they should deserve for that price.

### 1/5 — Victor desertion

*2025-04-18, version 2.5*

Wi-Fi traps and the associated app are a disaster for Victor. They have since given up on everything, including their customers. It’s time for a class action lawsuit. Push notifications no longer work and they won’t update the app. There is a known issue with their traps, depleting batteries overnight because they can’t connect.

### 4/5 — Kill Wornings

*2025-03-03, version 2.5*

I am not receiving notifications that a mouse has been caught. What’s the point of a wifi trap if I have to check it manually? I used to get the notifications but they have stopped.

### 2/5 — The app has gone down hill

*2025-01-05, version 2.5*

I have bought and used several of these traps because they give a notification on your phone when they zap a rodent so I know to empty the trap. The app notifications no longer work defeating the purpose of this trap over other non smart traps. Setup is also pretty bad as far as iot devices go. Other smart devices are much easier to provision. The last batch of 4 traps that I bought to replace the previous 4 that stopped working were provisioned a month ago and on the app. (I turn them off and bring them inside when we aren’t at the house because they will get ruined if it rains on them.) now that I turn them back on, the trap is no longer recognized in the app. I tried reconnecting the WiFi but gave up for now. Also, when they get older, the QR code will get worn off and you can no longer provision them in the app. I really like the product but they need to fix there stuff. It would be nice if they worked as good as the cheap SHELLY devices I use for various things. Completely different product but still an IOT device.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-01-01, version 2.5*

Says trap not found. Does not work whatsoever.

### 1/5 — No end of problems

*2024-12-22, version 2.5*

Now two years out they will not connect anymore just more junk for the pile and wasted money

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2024-12-22, version 2.5*

Great idea, the trap works, just don’t get any notifications so I need to try and remember to check the app. Kinda defeats the purpose

### 1/5 — Notifications do not work anymore

*2024-11-01, version 2.5*

App no longer notifies when mouse is caught. Very inconvenient.

### 1/5 — Does not complete setup process

*2024-10-31, version 2.5*

This is ridiculous. There is an issue with this app and it refuses to complete the setup process, even though I have the trap connected to my network through my phone. I have follow all instructions provided and still this throws and immediate error once the trap is connected to the network.

I have tried both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz connection. This is literally a problem with the setup process.

Does the trap work? I have no idea! I’d love to know, I have set the trap even though I can’t get instruction on how to set the trap without a successful setup on the app! The developers need to fix this broken app! It’s 2024, not 1996. Let’s get it together.

### 1/5 — Embarrassingly Terrible App

*2024-10-24, version 2.5*

The App is horrible. The device is a good idea but doesn’t always work. Getting kill notifications but no dead mice. App Notifications don’t work, you have to check and refresh the app. FAQ section in the App is not clickable so you can’t read the answers! Send us a Message link does not work. Wow.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect. Support is useless.

*2024-08-16, version 2.5*

Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money buying one of these. It’s a great concept but poorly executed. Not only will it not work, but customer service is nonexistent.

### 1/5 — Does not stay connected

*2024-08-16, version 2.5*

Bought 4 traps. Did the setup nothing in first night. after 2nd night checked the app and all four traps lost connection to the wifi. No signal issue phone is connected no problem. No way to get them to reconnect. Called support they wanted me to clear everything and start from scratch with setup again. Useless. Not doing that every time this happens. Haven’t caught a single mouse but the same bait on a cheep sticky pad caught 2 last night. These traps and app are garbage. Support sucks. Don’t recommend buying these.

### 1/5 — Notifications

*2024-08-01, version 2.5*

Notification seem to stop working. Is it a known issue?

### 1/5 — Spent hours Trying to connect results, failure

*2024-06-25, version 2.5*

I’ve spent hours and days trying to get this thing to pair, called the number and they were no help, I tried to connect this with the trap exactly right on top of the WiFi router and still no results so this app is useless I don’t think I supports iOS 17 and based off these other old reviews I think the same thing because every time they don’t update it breaks for the new devices please fix this pairing issue

-update, I was only able to connect to my neighborhood free WiFi and this thing does not connect to any pass code locked WiFi so please fix

### 3/5 — Notifications not working

*2024-06-21, version 2.5*

Please fix the notifications. It seems like the latest update fixes provisioning but broke notifications.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect waste

*2026-07-29, version 2.5*

Wouldn’t connect

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-04-28, version 2.5*

This app sucks. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Garbage do not buy

*2026-02-17, version 2.5*

For the price of this garbage electric Wi-Fi mouse trap, you could buy a lifetime supply of dollar store mouse traps for a neighborhood. Shame on Victor for breaking the Wi-Fi connection.

### 1/5 — All 4 of my traps no longer work in the app

*2025-11-24, version 2.5*

I have had these for a few years and they have always been hit or miss. Very often they would lose connection so I would have to manually turn them off and then back on but then they would work for a while. Now I have noticed that all 4 of my traps say that they are disconnected/ not available in the app. They are still connected to my WiFi though as I can see them on my network. But it looks like the cloud service isn’t working. So disappointing.

### 1/5 — Desperately needs updating

*2025-11-22, version 2.5*

Push notifications have not been working for months on iOS. They are the main reason to buy this trap. Fix this or continue to ruin your reputation as a leading company. Until people read that this is fixed, DO NOT BUY!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t send notifications. Defeating the entire purpose of the smart trap

*2025-10-27, version 2.5*

I have checked the app settings and tried reinstalling the app. It does not send notifications when it actually catches a mouse. So I need to manually check it. But the whole point of having the smart trap is so that I can get notified and don’t need to check it regularly

### 1/5 — No WiFi

*2025-09-17, version 2.5*

All Devices are offline for the past last year

### 1/5 — Garbage built in shelf life

*2025-08-21, version 2.5*

Cannot connect to WiFi. The app asks me to scan the QR code but my older trap doesn’t have a QR code.

### 1/5 — Couldn’t connect the trap with the app anymore.

*2025-07-13, version 2.5*

I’ve been using this product for the last 10 years with no major complaints.
Lost connection a week ago and tried all known potential fixes with no success. Rebooting the phone, rebooting the router, bring both the trap and phone near the router to try connecting, removing and reinstalling the app…

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-07-07, version 2.5*

Been giving them the benefit of the doubt on these for 2 years now. Worked as advertised about 2 months of that time, the rest with no notifications or no connection at all. Haven’t had notifications in over a year now and as of July 3 no connections at all again on both traps. Gonna switch to YoLink

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Product & App Developer

*2026-05-23, version 2.5*

The concept is really cool! Love the app and the pertinent information they provide to the end user. Hopefully this product is supported by the manufacturer and App developers. Looking forward to seeing how they perform and report. Great idea! Please continue to support it and continue to innovate. You guys have something here! Now go get em!
😎👍⚡️🐀

### 5/5 — Easy connectivity

*2025-05-22, version 2.5*

Connectivity will not be a problem if you follow my Wi-FI advice. I just bought my first trap and connected it in under two minutes. The last reviewer mentioned that they were using an eero mesh network. This will not work. Even if you see 2.4 GHz on a mesh or modern router , there is often beam steering, which will intermittently disconnect and try to reconnect to the five GHz band. The solution is to buy a dual band repeater. This will take your five gig Herz mesh network and split it into two dedicated channels. One is 5 GHz and the other is 2.4 GHz. You then connect the Victor app to this dedicated 2.4 GHz network. Super quick and super easy. The problem is that most of these IOT devices sucg as the Victor trap only run off of legacy 2.4 GHz channels and modern routers cannot deal with them. You can pick up one of these extenders for under $30. Good luck!

### 5/5 — Kudos

*2024-05-25, version 2.5*

There was a connection problem with the earlier version of the app but it is now fixed. Kudos to the company for addressing the problem. It’s great again to be notified of a catch.

### 5/5 — Thanks for the update

*2024-05-22, version 2.5*

Revised review: All of my traps are back on line and reporting status. Thank you for the revision. ………. Four traps down simultaneously and all will not reconnect to my network. The app needs to be updated. Talked with Victor this morning, they stated they were aware of the problem and they are dealing with it. In my opinion, the M2 is the best trap out there, and needs Victor’s continued support.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-07-09, version 2.3*

A little difficulties setting up but when I follow the directions exactly it connects. Has killed several mice/rats for me. I haven’t had to use it for a while but I just put new batteries and bait after sitting for a year. Hope it takes care of the noise I’m hearing in the attic lately.

### 5/5 — Good

*2021-12-16, version 2.2*

I like it.it works good

### 5/5 — So far, so good!

*2021-12-05, version 2.2*

Just bought 3 of traps, and added them to my wifi network without issue. I even switched to another wifi network, and it was a breeze. Excited see how this goes!

### 5/5 — Surprisingly good

*2020-12-24*

I am surprised at all of the bad reviews. For me, set up was easy. Took less than 5 min for each trap. I used two rat traps in my garage. Everything seems to work well. I came home and actually found 4 mice in one trap! I was shocked! I have 2 traps and have killed 6 mice in 2 days. Very happy with the product. Just wish I could change the “kills” since there was only one trigger but 4 mice were caught. Lol

### 5/5 — So far very good

*2020-08-26, version 2.1*

Easy setup, today is day 1, no issues so far. I will update at a later date.
Update: 2 hours later it caught a mouse in the basement and alerted me, was dead. No idea why someone would say this app or product wasn’t great. 100% a new customer!!!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2020-01-18, version 2.0*

Makes it very easy to mange and get it under control quick.
