### 2/5 — Buggy on iOS 26

*2025-09-26*

After a month of not using my Onyx, I discovered tonight that it stopped communicating with my Sonos, giving me a flashing green light.

So I launched this app to reconnect, and the app kept stalling at different parts of the pairing process. Sometimes the app wouldn't see the Onyx, sometimes it wouldn't see the WiFi, sometimes it wouldn't accept a WiFi password, etc. On about my 7th or 8th try I was finally able to connect, and re-pair the Onyx to my Sonos.

The only thing that has changed since I last launched this app was that I updated to iOS26. I'm suspecting this app needs an update now that iOS 26 is shipping on new phones.

### 1/5 — Not well thought out

*2025-03-08*

The idea for the product is great but the execution and software that powers this is terrible. The app is buggy, the UX is slow, it drops off the WiFi network and needs to be set up over and over. Again, great idea behind the product but very poor execution from the product team and no fix in sight.

### 1/5 — Turntables don’t show up.

*2025-02-28*

Wish they would fix this app - it used to work. Turntables don’t show up at all. Had to load via a web browser using an IP address and setup as a new device after a couple months of not using it. Turntables still don’t show up in the app, so relying on the Sonos for playback… which means no control of the actual device. Please fix! I’ve paid a lot of money for this.

### 1/5 — 2025 and still hot garbage

*2025-02-08, version 2.1.3*

2025 and it still barely works. Constantly disconnects from wifi, pain to setup, and mediocre experience all around. AVOID VICTROLA

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-02-07, version 2.1.3*

Bought this expensive record player and a bunch of Sonos speakers. The record player never just connects always some issue to diagnose. Worst purchase probably ever

### 1/5 — Cannot find any Sonos on network except one

*2025-02-01*

I’ve tried everything. I bought this $400 turntable. It works great at my friends house. He opens the big troll app and sees every Sonos on his network. I can only pull the one speaker that I don’t want it to ever use. I removed the app, re-added the app, remove my Sonos app, re-added my Sonos app. Factory resets on everything. I’ve even got the main speaker. I don’t want it to pull completely off my network. I don’t know what else to do.

### 1/5 — Great Turntable, Awful Software/App.

*2024-10-19*

It’s very disheartening that the software for this (expensive) turntable is so bad. It either forgets my default group or does not display any of my Sonos systems. I hope they can turn this around otherwise those reading this review should be wary about purchasing products that advertise Sonos compatibility from this company.

### 1/5 — Embarrassingly awful

*2024-09-19, version 2.1.3*

One of the worst app experiences I’ve ever had - developers should be ashamed. Absolute garbage.

### 1/5 — Not worth the trouble

*2024-06-01*

I had to change network settings and now I can’t even connect the turntable. When it does find the turntable, it won’t always let me configure the WiFi. When it does decide to let me choose the SSID, I put in the correct password and it goes back to the first screen with no turntable installed. It’s not possible to wire this to my router I need the WiFi to work.

### 1/5 — Easy, I suppose. Reliable? not a chance.

*2024-05-23*

It's absolutely true that even with lightning fast Wi-Fi and great signal the Victrola stream simply does not connect reliably about 2/3 of the time. I was willing to accept a buffering delay but more times than not I get no sound at all and find myself reaching for the phone. Open the app. Restart the turntable. Check the app. Check the connectivity. Check the signal strength. Try again. Then- finallly after either 15 seconds or 5 minutes the sounds of the turntable will finally come out of the default speaker. It's hard to get turntable-nostalgic if you have to fool with your phone for 5 minutes first.

I'm currently running a 50' cat6 through my basement and hoping a wired connection will up the experience to simply frustrating instead of practically unuseable. Please repair and update this app and the turntable firmware if it's even possible.

### 1/5 — Constantly drops signal

*2024-04-29*

When it works it works great but it will frequently lose its connection requiring a hard reset. Even when hardwire (which also defeats the purpose of this player) it’ll still drop the signal. Had the record player for 5 months now and keep hearing “we’re fixing it” but nothing. Soooo frustrating.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2024-04-20, version 2.1.1*

Plenty of other options on the market. We wasted our money on an Eastwood and wish we had waited a few days and got the one we initially wanted.

### 2/5 — Keeps losing signal

*2024-04-05*

The record player with constantly lose its signal to Sonos and require you to do a full reset to reattach. I’ve tried everything, hardwire into my internet, full resets, etc and this still happens. Please fix this software glitch.

### 2/5 — Constantly drops

*2024-04-02*

Will constantly drop from the Sonos network which means I have to hard reset player so it can find it again (happens multiple times a week). Given its major selling point was that it works with Sonos this seems like a huge miss. I hope they fix this with an update.

### 1/5 — Drops signal

*2024-03-22*

When it plays it plays great. But 90% of the time it won’t connect to my speakers so I have to constantly repair to my Sonos. This bug needs to get fixed!

### 3/5 — Essential app

*2024-03-18, version 2.1.1*

Just not great. But you do need it to stream. Disappointing UI/UX, with a very basic layout. Decent level of control overall. I’m still tweaking the settings to get the best set up. Please improve the UX!

### 1/5 — Bad app, avoid Victrola for Sonos

*2024-03-09*

App is very buggy, forgets presets, works poorly with grouped speakers, and the recent redesign completely trashed the sound quality. Spent hours troubleshooting only to find out “Loseless” is the only setting that still sounds halfway decent, and it is only recommend for ethernet connections.

Big regrets spending $700 on a Victrola compatible with Sonos when their app is still hot garbage.

### 1/5 — App does not work! NEED TO FIX!

*2024-02-19*

I’ve tried reaching out to customer service multiple times but this version of the app will not allow me to set my turntable back up! I had to change my network settings and ever since then I can’t pair the turntable. Horribly frustrating. It’s been weeks!!! Get this fixed!

### 1/5 — App does not work!

*2024-02-17*

I’ve tried reaching out to customer service multiple times but this version of the app will not allow me to set my turntable back up! I had to change my network settings and ever since then I can’t pair the turntable. Horribly frustrating. It’s been weeks!!! Get this fixed!

### 1/5 — So far it’s a bust

*2024-02-12, version 2.1.0*

New Onyx turntable to be used with Sonos. For some reason, when I try to connect to WiFi on the app, it doesn’t work. It is as if the link is broken. WHY!!??

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible app and product

*2026-02-16, version 2.1.3*

Crashes all the time and customer service is useless. Will tell you to “unplug it” and than send you a replacement unit. The record player works fine. The software needs to get fixed

### 1/5 — Sometimes great.

*2026-01-31, version 2.1.3*

Mostly doesn’t feel like working. Tired of unplugging along w Sonos. Too much time spent on system and not enough able to listen. Need to replace this turntable set up.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2025-12-19*

Don’t bother. Buy an Ars-Technica turntable, a pre-amp, and a good set of speakers instead, and make sure none of it requires the Internet or Bluetooth or an app to work. Make sure none of it has any connection to the Internet, and only uses direct wires and cables.

The Victrola app is a nightmare. Expect to have to find your turntable over and over again, every time you want to play a record. Next, expect to spend hours trying to get the app to recognize your wi-fi password.

You will spend far more time setting up your Victrola, over and over again, each time you use it, than you will actually listening to music and enjoying it.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2025-11-26, version 2.1.3*

With the new iPhone updates it will not connect at all. Will not join WiFi and will not play music. Need an update for a player costing $799. Unacceptable.

### 1/5 — App is broken. Constant disconnects. Hasn’t been updated in a year

*2025-10-05, version 2.1.3*

Absolute garbage at this point. I can’t get through 2 songs without the app disconnecting for 5 minutes. UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE OR REFUND US

### 1/5 — Support not available, does not work with Sonos, app was not updated since a year ago!

*2025-09-23*

At times, the Victrola device disappears completely from Sonos, requiring multiple resets and restarts.

This has made the experience frustrating and unreliable. As a customer who invested in both Sonos and Victrola for their promised integration, I expected a more seamless and stable solution.

### 1/5 — terrible app

*2025-08-23, version 2.1.3*

this app is does not work very well with the stream onyx. needs major upgrade

### 1/5 — App not working

*2025-07-29, version 2.1.3*

Beautiful turntable, but app won’t allow me to connect. I’m guessing it’s a bug. Hopeful a future release will resolve.

### 1/5 — So inconsistent

*2025-07-27, version 2.1.3*

I use the app for a few months. And then it doesn’t work. Now it’s playing at a higher speed and everyone sounds like chipmunks. No it’s not on 45

### 1/5 — Unreliable app and product

*2025-04-05*

Worked for a while. Had no issues connecting initially. However, over time unable to reliably connect to the turntable despite deleting and reinstalling the app. And factory resetting the turntable. Sent an email to support, waiting for a reply. Will update review if solution found. If not, would not buy this product.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2022-11-05, version 1.3*

My victrola connected seamlessly and i had no issues getting it working. Not much else to say to be honest.

### 5/5 — Simple! Setup once and done!

*2022-11-02*

Love the new Sonos compatible turntable which this app supports!!! Best part is once you go through the set-up and get everything configured, you only need it if you are making a change to how you want it to behave with Sonos.

### 5/5 — Worked seamless with my Sonos ecosystem

*2022-10-25, version 1.3*

I unboxed the unit, hit the QR code and then downloaded the Victrola app. Once I entered my WiFi and password, my three Sonos zones appeared and I chose the one in my living room as default. In under five minutes, I was streaming vinyl across all speakers. I’m tech savvy enough to set up Sonos and add components to my WiFi or Bluetooth, and this wasn’t any more difficult than doing either of those. Love the sound quality of records through my Sonos system!

### 5/5 — Victrola App

*2022-10-25*

I’ve had a real positive experience when connecting my turntable to my sonos five speaker. Was easy to follow the apps start guide. The first time took a few extra seconds to connect but all reconnections have been seamless and fast! Sound quality has been excellent as well!

### 5/5 — Seamless!!

*2022-10-25*

I was a little skeptical at first but the app works great. It has a simple setup guide and leads you directly into pairing with your Sonos system. The turntable paired the first time and has been working great. I mostly use the Sonos app for everyday playback but the Victrola app has a few additional features you might use from time to time.

### 5/5 — Works like a dream

*2022-10-25*

Love the setup guide, made it very easy to follow. I was able to get my turntable playing and streaming to my Sonos speakers within 10 minutes of unpacking.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2022-10-24, version 1.2*

App was easy to use and made set up simple.

### 5/5 — Easy and impressed

*2022-10-24, version 1.2*

Super easy to set up with my large Sonos system at home. Works perfectly and super fun to listen to vinyl around the house.

### 5/5 — Simple! Connected right out of the box

*2022-10-24*

I downloaded the app and was spinning vinyl within minutes. Once the stream carbon was connected I went to the Sonos app and controlled all of my zones just like I normally do, such a cool experience to play my record collection on my Sonos system.

### 4/5 — Very Simple setup UI Could be better

*2022-11-05*

The directions are simple and make it easy to setup everything right out of the box. The app however is a bit dated in design with slightly unclear menu options and a somewhat poorly made layout design.
