## Newest reviews (1 of 21)

### 3/5 — Nice but not flexible.

*2019-06-19, version 2.4.2*

This is pretty nice and handy, but it would be much more useful if we could choose our own current setting by number, or at least more granular options. Also would be great if we could choose a voltage drop percentage and see what gauge of cable is required for a given run.

Otherwise quite useful.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sprachen

*2025-06-01, version 3.3.14*

Leider nicht in Deutsch.

### 1/5 — Pas en Français !!!

*2025-01-28, version 3.3.7*

Aucune traduction en français et pourtant on est en France avec certaines obligations !!!
Donc inutile vaut mieux utiliser Google pour les renseignement.

### 1/5 — Cable Calc

*2022-10-15, version 2.4.2*

There is no help or explanation available for cable calc.
The user does not know whether she has to enter cable length as the sum of the positve and negative cable, or if the single distance is sufficient.

### 1/5 — Was soll denn das sein?

*2021-10-03, version 2.4.2*

Einfach und halbherzig, das könnte durchaus in die andere App integriert werden.
Informationsgehalt ist dürftig.

### 1/5 — Good start, must try harder

*2020-06-09*

App is not very useful, especially when it comes to cable calculations.

User should be able to define the current, rather than a pre-defined list. There is a huge jump in pre-defined amp ratings from 120A to 180A.

Cable sizes are not universal for worldwide, many parts of the world use 95mm2, but if only has the European size of 90mm2.

### 2/5 — Missed opportunity

*2025-09-22, version 3.3.15*

The status LED page for MPPTs is very good but everything else is poor. A good example is the cable sizing calculator, that doesn’t correlate with the information supplied in the Victron manuals with the products.

### 2/5 — Not for the imperial market

*2024-02-13, version 2.4.2*

A pretty nice app with informative features…
Only gave two stars because everything is based on metric measurements with no way to convert to imperial for the us market.

### 2/5 — Why not add AWG?????

*2023-04-01, version 2.4.2*

Would be a five star if AWG could be added. Pretty simple upgrade !!

All the best!

### 2/5 — Needs more features

*2023-03-14, version 2.4.2*

App is pretty simple and plain. Needs a units toggle to convert to measurements that are more user friendly in the US market.

It would be nice to have settings “cheat sheets” and calculators for various hardware.

### 2/5 — Not as useful as expected

*2021-01-26, version 2.4.2*

With just a little extra effort, this could be a great tool.

The cable calc section should not limit you to so few ampere values. It could be so much better designed, giving live updates to the calculation as you tweak the values. Also, I almost always use DC, so it would be nice if it could remember that instead of making me reselect it every time.

The LED definitions section suffers from the jarring switch to landscape mode. With a slightly better design, we could stay in portrait mode (images can have a clear icon for enlargement), and we shouldn’t have to tap the screen each time in order to see the explanation for each of the many statuses.

Temp derating could use a bit more explanation added. Many users may be doing these calculations for the first time. Again, it would be nice if the app would remember the last settings I used.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So Easy

*2024-10-22*

Extremely easy to use it’s also 100% free

### 5/5 — AWG?

*2023-04-03*

Great app. Love it! Would it be hard to get AWG wire sizes into the cable calc as well as mm2? Thanks!

### 4/5 — Helpful reference, but…

*2024-11-21, version 3.2.23*

I find this app to be a helpful quick reference, but when in North America and Caribbean, getting wire sizes shown in mm2 is not very helpful. I end up using for go online to convert to AWG size.
Developers, please consider providing both, or having a setting to select which is shown. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Nett aber könnte ein Update vertragen

*2024-03-19, version 2.4.2*

### 3/5 — Usability

*2024-07-21, version 3.2.9*

The range input is very inaccurate and it’s difficult to set correct value. Please add ability to set it manually on double click or use iOS scroll feature.

Also review to add to the app the functionality of “MPPT sizing calculator” as well.

### 3/5 — Nicht schlecht, aber …

*2024-01-14, version 2.4.2*

### 3/5 — Useful app but needs AWG values

*2023-01-14, version 2.4.2*

Please consider adding AWG wire sizes to the application. As it is now, we have to make conversions on a table and guess for sizes in-between the cross-section wire sizes. AWG would make this much more useful here in the U.S.

### 3/5 — Annoying

*2021-11-27, version 2.4.2*

Having calculated voltage drop and gone to another section of the app, returning to voltage drop all my calculations are gone! Very silly.

Why, doesn’t the Cable Calc bit of the app use the power rating of the device in question rather than the current? You have to calculate the current then put that in to get the voltage drop. Silly!

And why not provide for calculating cable thickness given a certain set up (cable length, DC/AC, voltage, power rating)? This would be much more useful than knowing what the voltage drop is!

### 3/5 — Nice, but...

*2021-04-14, version 2.4.2*

... give the wire calculator the ability to work with every amount of A! With the current version containing only presets of 10a and 30a and so on it is useless.
