Do you need a phone number to log in

**Developer response:** No you don't need a phone number to login, just create a channel name and a pass key. Pass them to your friends and family & enjoy the high quality audio and video communication experience.

The app does not allow to make normal calls via video of phone on a tablet or laptop unless the other user of WhatsApp has bought the same app. I am angry that I wasted my money and want a refund unless it can be made to function like the normal phone version of WhatsApp
