Video Delay CAM and Video Delay PRO are two distinct apps. Their primary purpose is to show delayed video, but the rest of the features differ. The most significant difference is that Video Delay Cam lets you connect to external cameras (via HDMI cable), GoPro, and iOS devices. The free version enables you to test these features (and more) for a limited time, but a subscription is required for regular use. To connect to other iOS devices, use Screen Minoring / Airplay. In the settings, you can choose save destination (Photos or Documents) for your videos. It works for both the Delay and the Slo-mo Mode. ### 3/5 — Seems Great For Video. Not For Audio. *2023-05-05* I was really hoping this would work for practicing a musical instrument, but at present it will not. For some reason the audio output cannot be sent to headphones and feeds back uncontrollably when monitoring is enabled. This means no recording of sound and no playback while looping. The countdown sound for slow motion gets sent to headphones just fine, but nothing else. It also will not record sound in slow motion mode preventing you from setting the playback to full speed and heading off any potential feedback issues by capturing a loop without live audio monitoring. It seems like a fine app for some sports applications but it really falls short of its potential as a musical training tool, or in any domain where sound is important. If the audio is ever sorted out this could be an indispensable app for dancers or musicians, but right now it is just not there. **Developer response:** Hi! Sorry for the issue! There is some Bluetooth-related problem that, for now, was fixed only for Slo-mo Mode. Delay Mode works differently, and we need to look into it. You are right; the app is used mainly by sports coaches and athletes, and the sound is irrelevant. Would you like to share your ideas on using the app in music training at boramaapps@gmail.com? ### 4/5 — Really good *2023-03-22* This is really good, i use it for bowling and when I turnaround I can see what went well or poorly. I wish the replay was a little longer because by the time I get to the phone my replay window has passed. Response to developer question: My use case - I’m a bowler and when I use this app I’m using it alone. I generally have a 10 second buffer on which allows me to bowl, turnaround, and watch what I did. However, by the time I watch what I did and decide I want to replay my video I’ve gone past the buffer time and can’t replay the video. It seems that in order to replay the video I have to have that immediately decided, which I don’t know until I see it the first time. **Developer response:** Edit: To resolve this issue go to Settings and select "Double delay mode." This way, you will have double buffer time in the Replay view. Hi! Thanks for the review! I don't understand your issue with the replay, though. Buffer capacity in both, DELAY & SLO-MO, modes is almost 5 minutes (499 sec). You can set it by pressing the START or BUFFER button and using the wheel picker. The Replay view (available only in the DELAY mode) stays on until you close it with the back button. Maybe send us an email with a screenshot at boramaapps@gmail.com . Ce qui permet d’observer des choses différentes sur chacun des passages Ex : Écran séparé en 4 avec 1x/2x/3x/4x le délai sur chacune des parties de l’écran. A simple save button available on the watch would be perfect so we can save replays the full length of the buffer time by pressing one button rather than having to trigger on and off record and then the app crashing. Love the app but if you guys add this save feature from the Watch instead of a trigger record on and off feature, or have both work every time, it will be next level! **Developer response:** Hi! Thanks! ### 5/5 — Perfect for coaching diving *2017-06-07* I coach a dive team, and this app has been awesome for providing the divers and me with quick feedback. With buffered mode I'm able to save the dive after they perform it, and the delay continues which is unique among the delayed video apps I've tried. For my use case (short delay of 15 seconds or so, with ability to save for later analysis), it does the job very well. Well, the screen does nothing if the user does nothing :) I understand that the first time with Video Delay may be confusing, that's why we're working on the tutorial. Hopefully, it will explain more than app store screens and descriptions. You can always try the free version, to see if the app features meet your needs. ### 1/5 — Is not worth the money *2020-12-23* I am really disappointed in this app. I tried the free version, and it worked ok, and I saw this version thinking it would be way better then the free version. Honestly this app is a scam, it seems to be glitchy sometimes and it has some features that I think I would never need to use. Like the screen flip or the camera rotation, or the screen lock like why would I need to lock the screen. And why would I need the buffer length to be 125 seconds. I also wish they would have a simple guide to use some of the features on this app. I am really annoyed at how much money this thing is selling for, it honestly isn’t any better then the free version. **Developer response:** Hi, sorry to hear that you can't find any use for our app. People mostly use it to get video feedback (delayed mirror) during the training session. Some of the features you've mentioned are no longer necessary and you would not find them in the newest version. The screen lock is useful when training a bunch of kids that can't resist touching the screen (and changing the settings). The simple instruction on how to use the VDIR app is on our website. The PRO version is ADS FREE, thats the different. I did some research and came across this app. It works really well for us, we like that we can pick the delay. 15 seconds works great for us most of the time. We originally put his phone on a tripod but the tripod was in the way a lot so we ended up buying a SkyMount on Amazon so his phone hangs from the ceiling. He connects to our TV via AirPlay and if he has a really great shot, he can take advantage of the delay time to screen record the shot. It does get a little choppy at times but nothing to worry about. I’ve been able to connectTo the television using using Apple TV. When we don’t have the Apple TV available, we connect to the television using an HDM I cable and an iPhone adapter. Works like a charm. If I don’t have a TV available for playback, the phone works fine. I also have the iPad version as well. All of the different devices work great on their respective platforms.
