It’s great to pull up to a motor and see what rpm the drivelines are spinning or the gearhead. Most of the time my phone is in my pocket. I wanted to verify the engine RPM was in a good spot, so I thought about the Tachometer RPM testers I use at work and started wondering if my iPhone camera could check RPM. Sure enough I found this! This app helped confirm that the old powerful little engine was running at the factory rating of 3300 RPM. I was very impressed by the app and how easy it was to use. Насколько точно, сказать не могу, но обороты электродвигателя указал 1450-1500. То есть достаточно точно. Для измерения нанес на шкив метку краской. Скорее, обороты двигателя менялись по какой-то причине. ### 5/5 — Works beautifully! *2023-01-27* I used this to check the accuracy of the engine tachometer in my Cessna 172 airplane. I was checking “static RPM” (wide-open throttle with brakes set on the ground) and found it to be lower than spec, which was concerning. I checked with the shop and they had measured it at 2306 which is to spec. The tach indicated only 2200. Using this, I measured 2310 (I had not yet upgraded to the full version allowing adjustments of 1) which confirmed the shop’s findings and made me feel a lot better about the engine’s output. Пока я сделал только регулирование скорости с которой меняется частота кадров при нажатии и удержании кнопки. Это оказалось действительно очень удобно и сильно ускоряющим определение скорости вращения. Dude, here’s some advice, if you’re only building an app to gather/sell info on your users at least build an app that actually functions because you’ll never get enough users to make you rich selling their personal info with this bogus app 🤦‍♂️ **Developer response:** IT'S ALL A LIE!!! To determine the rotation speed, you do not need to purchase the full version of the app. In the free version of the app, you can select the frame rate with an accuracy of ±0.1 Hz or ±10 RPM. Quote from another review: "Manual controls over everything: exposure time, light sensitivity (ISO), focus (auto or manual), RPM… and that's in the free version!" I do not collect user data! iOS has a great feature called "App Privacy Report". There you can view the network activity of apps. Everyone can make sure that this app only communicates with either Apple domains when purchasing the full version of the app, or YouTube domains when connecting to YouTube to watch videos. The app connects to YouTube only if the user touches the "Connect to YouTube" button. That is, when taking measurements using this app, the app will not connect to the Internet at all! ### 1/5 — No Video Recording *2023-10-06* The app works but without the ability to capture video it’s not very useful. Sure, the developer says to use the iPhones build-in in screen capture but then the interface is in the video. This would be a 5 star app if it had the ability to capture video. In the full version, you can select the frame rate for 1125 RPM. In the free version, the frame rate selection accuracy is ±10 RPM (or ±0.1 Hz), in the paid version, the frame rate selection accuracy is ±1 RPM (or ±0.01 Hz). ### 5/5 — It works, just need *2026-07-15* The app is very good, it takes a few tries to get the right settings to understand the different options and how they can be used, nothing impossible to do, if you try the app different settings you will find them very useful, after a few tries you will find the settings that are the best for you to use and understand. Понятное и удобное приложение. ### 5/5 — Super Useful *2025-04-26* I don't own a lot of tools (being a college student), so when I wanted to measure the RPM of my Lego motor to determine its torque, I was stuck. Looking on the AppStore was a last, desperate measure, but man, I'm glad I did. The free version of the app work beautifully and offers great control and features. And, the +-10RPM is not a huge deal. Overall, would absolutely recommend. I didn’t trust the tachometer on my boat, and this app worked like a charm in confirming it. It’s beautifully done. I didn’t quite understand why I needed the 2X and divided by two buttons, but it becomes clear after you’ve used it for a bit, and that you need to find the maximum RPM value that works otherwise you might be looking at halftime or quarter time or eighth time Etc., but two dollars it’s a steal. Clever Developers should be rewarded. I wanted to show them how RPM changes with voltage input. I upgraded to the full version, not because I need that precision and may never use it again, but it was only about 10% the cost of the cheapest stand alone tach.
