An app so functionally bankrupt, it makes Internet Explorer look like a Formula 1 car. If Kafka designed an app, it would be Vidy. A digital labyrinth where promises go to die and logic took an extended sabbatical. They dangle 30 “free coins” like a carrot, only to yank you straight into a $99 paywall faster than you can say “predatory monetization scheme.” I’ve seen Ponzi schemes with more honest onboarding. Trying to use this app is like being handed a golden ticket to a chocolate factory, only to find out the gates are locked unless you Venmo Wonka a hundred bucks. What’s the point of free credits if they vanish faster than your faith in tech startups? Honestly, whoever architected this user flow must’ve graduated from the University of Gaslight. Either that, or they’ve created a brilliant parody of Silicon Valley greed so convincing it accidentally went live. 0 stars. I typed imagine me muscular. It replied that I was going against their guidlines. I did another prompt and I got the same thing. Using their templates is a joke. I have even tried ridiculously vanilla prompts like “man is standing on a bridge”, and still gets flagged. Even better, the “contact us” tab in settings, doesn’t seem to work, so I have no way to solve the issue. I am getting sick of theses developers with half working apps that take your money and disappear. I ended up getting tokens. I’m trying to type in very simple gestures when I’m trying to convert a photo to video and it continuously says it’s going against the guidelines. It would be nice if you had the guidelines very easily accessible so that we can understand what the heck we’re doing wrong? Trying to find them. The language I’m inputting is clean. One of the options is a Star Wars lightsaber video that brought no end of entertainment to my five and three year old grandchildren. (There was also a video of my wife—based on a recent photo—that looked like the day I first met her. Absolutely enchanting—then and now.) Like all AI apps, the results can be rather hit-or-miss, especially if you don’t begin with a straight-on photograph. That said, Vidy AI’s videos are superior to anything I’ve seen, with a success rate of about 60%. Other than hovering spaceships and a desert locale in the background, it seems impossible to identify my grandchildren’s images as being AI generated. Although a year’s subscription is considerably less expensive than the weekly option, I intend to purchase by the week when necessary as my interest in filmmaking waxes and wanes. **Developer response:** Wow, your review truly made us smile, thank you for sharing such a heartwarming story!
