The whole thing lasts under a second and is only visible from a corridor a few kilometres wide, so it is won or lost before you leave the house. • Pick the dates you're free. You get the times, where to stand, and a map with the centre-line drawn on it — then navigate straight to it. • A sketch shows how big the silhouette will be against the disc, so you know what focal length to pack before you go. • It tells you how old its orbit data is. Orbits drift, and stale data quietly moves the corridor — so the app states the age instead of handing you a confident-looking answer that would send you to the wrong field. • The maths runs entirely on your device. Once the orbit data is downloaded, the search itself needs no signal. Fixed: • Restore Purchases now tells you what happened. If there's no active subscription on your Apple ID, or the App Store can't be reached, it says so — instead of appearing to do nothing at all. • Found one worth driving to? Turn it into a shoot plan, or put it in your calendar with a reminder to be set up before it happens. New tools ship almost every week. ### 1.7.2 — 2026-07-31 NEW: Say how you got the shot, not just what the camera recorded. • Spec Card already reads your photo's settings. Now you can add what the file can't say — under Technique, whether you were handheld or on a tripod, what was on the front of the lens, and whether the frame is a stack. • Filters combine the way they do in your bag: a polarizer and a 6-stop ND together, a graduated ND on top of both. Each is its own switch, so you can describe what you actually used. • Shot a focus stack, or an astro integration? Type the frame count — hundreds is normal, so you type it instead of tapping it up one at a time. • Everything sits on one screen now, with the card right above it. Pick the look, change a setting, and watch the card change — no more hopping in and out of a separate sheet to see what it says. • Leave it all alone and your card looks exactly as it always did. It never invents "handheld" or "no filter" to fill space. Fixed: • Opening the app with no usable signal — on a plane, underground, or on Wi-Fi that never quite connects — could leave you waiting on "Syncing your spots…". Your library lives on your device, so now it opens straight into it. • The keyboard always has a way down now, on every screen with a number to type. Now it shows a real photograph of that place — so you can tell at a glance whether it's worth the trip. • Every photograph is openly licensed, with the photographer who took it credited underneath and a link to the original. • No photograph for that spot? Tap "See this place" for a ground-level look around the pin instead. Also new: • Move a pin that landed in the wrong place. Open a spot's location, drag the map, and drop the pin where you actually stood — for when GPS drifted under tree cover or between tall buildings. Drop your spots into the sequence you'll actually shoot them in, and Viewpoint shows the drive, walk or bike time and distance for the run — following real roads. • One tap hands the next leg to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze for turn-by-turn directions. • Let the light set the order: sort a route by the best light at each stop, by the shortest distance, or by each spot's best time — starting from your location or any stop you pick. Also new: • Add a spot by typing its address or a place name, right from the create menu — no need to already be standing there. • Search your Maps list by name or by where their spots sit. • Every spot's map now draws which way the sun and moon rise and set, so you can picture the light before you go. • Tag each spot's best light — sunrise, golden hour, blue hour, sunset or night. • A polished new opening animation when the app starts.
