## What is Views 4?

Welcome to Views 4! It's the best news app for iOS and macOS! Skeptical? Read on! 

The mission of Views 4 is to keep you informed in our fast paced world. In order to accomplish this, we start at the very root: the design! We believe in delivering the best viewing experience which is why we have absolutely no ads! We also pride ourselves on our minimal design, obstructing all distraction. Most importantly, we believe in delivering experience possible so you can digest information with no interruptions at all.

Next comes the information. We ask you to tune your interests so that you can see news articles based on your interests. However, Views isn't just another news reading application. In order to help you stay up to date in your busy lives, we utilize artificial intelligence to analyze a news article and present you with an informed summarized version. Of course, not all of us have the time to read at our own pace which is why we give you the option of saving articles offline so you can read them at a later date.

Another great way to stay updated is to tune in to your favorite podcasts. WIth Views 4, we introduce an all-new podcast player designed only for you. You can save your favorite podcasts and download individual episodes for offline listening. Whether you're driving or simply prefer an auditory experience over a visual experience, we've made sure to help you. 

Finally, all this information means we need a great way to organize and search through it. Once again, we've relied on machine learning for this task. Rather than fine-tune every aspect of your search, simply search using natural language. For example: "Search all podcasts for latest news" or "Display the top technology news" gives you just that. Nothing that you wouldn't expect.

I've found this app to be essentially of zero use.  There are ~100 free applications that provide superior content, UI/UX, and functionality.  To be honest, given the marketing and tech site PR tour they've been I'm close to flagging it for abuse instead -- It's that useless, low quality, irrelevant, and $$$ that I don't see how this could have been done with good intentions.

It looks pretty! That is about the only good thing about this app!
The "new" podcast feature, isn't a feature at all so don't even waste your time! Maybe in future versions it will be but this is less than basic! There are way better apps out there!
If "personalized" means chosing a couple of basic topics for your news feed then this may work for you but that is about all you can do! Total waste of $5!

Sorry you feel this way. As a first version, it’s hard to implement a lot of features. View is primarily a news-first, podcast-secondary app but because of a lot of feedback, I can confirm that I am working on bringing podcasts up to date by adding features like playlists, queues, saving podcast location, OPML import, and more in the next big version 4.1. This version will also bring improvement to the recommendation system so it’s not just selecting an interest. Thanks for your feedback 😁

I think Views has a very cool take on news. I like the use of haptics, and it’s UI. I also like how you can shorten news stories for an easier reading experience. Plus, the ability to listen to podcasts is really cool! I’ve never seen that in a news app.

How do you download podcasts as there is no clear route, and why doesn't it 'sync' between devices with a memory of what you're listening? And no syncing preferences within account information. I'm not sure I'm understanding the intent of the programming, and hopefully someone can enlighten me!

Downloading podcasts is very simple. It’s standard iOS and macOS behavior. Simply, swipe left on an episode to open the download menu. This does bring up a good point as I will start to develop a FAQ that can be accessed through the app to help users with similar queries. Thanks! 😄

While there is no podcast syncing and time mark saving as of now, I can confirm that I am actively developing this feature and more podcast-related features will be available in the next major version i.e. Version 4.1. Stay tuned (pun not intended) for this!

The reason that Views is more feature-rich in its news section is because this app is primarily a news-first, podcast-second application. However, based on responses, I am working on bringing up the podcast player up to speed and I am adding a ton of new features for the next version!
