## What is VIGIL?

YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD HAS BECOME A WAR ZONE.

One payment. No subscriptions. No ads. Ever.

No fictional map. No invented city. VIGIL uses your real GPS to turn your streets, your park, and your supermarket into infected sectors you must patrol, loot, and defend. The apocalypse is outside your door.

MOVE OR DIE

Every step you take generates fuel for your shelter. Every walk is a supply run. Every workout earns combat bonuses. Sleep well and your survivors recover overnight. Stop moving for too long, and infection spreads - hordes close in on sectors you know by name.

Works entirely in the background. No need to keep the app open — your steps, workouts, and sleep are tracked, and your shelter updates automatically while your screen is off.

ON YOUR WRIST AND ON YOUR HOME SCREEN

An Apple Watch app with your resources, your steps and your shelter's status without reaching for your phone. Widgets that keep an eye on fuel and threats at a glance. And a Live Activity that shows up when you've been still for too long — before the horde arrives.

Your health data isn't just tracked. It's the difference between survival and extinction.

YOUR CITY. YOUR RULES

The map generates dynamically around your location. Points of interest in your neighborhood become sectors with their own infection level, resources, and threats. Hordes move in real time as radar blips through streets you recognize.

RETRO CRT INTERFACE – CRAFTED WITH LOVE

No generic modern menus. VIGIL features a meticulously designed retro-tactical interface inspired by military bunker terminals. Experience terminal-style phosphorus fonts, subtle scanline flickers, and a gritty CRT monitor aesthetic that transforms your iPhone into a piece of post-apocalyptic hardware.

RUN YOUR SHELTER

Survivors who depend on you. A generator that needs fuel every day. Stockpiles of food, ammo, and medicine that drain every night. Recruit from nearby camps, upgrade your installations, and keep the lights on - or watch everything collapse. Your shelter rises through five phases with clear requirements: you always know which level you are missing for the next one. And if you stop holding it, it falls back - until you fix it.

DEEP MECHANICS

* Movement modes: Stealth, March, Sprint - each with different tactical effects
* Real-time hordes that track your safe sectors
* Dynamic weather: fog accelerates infection, storms slow enemy movement
* Daily missions generated from your real situation
* Activity streaks with escalating rewards: 3, 7, 14 and 30 days
* Rescue camps to expand your team
* Adjustable difficulty: Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare
* Quantum RNG (ANU) for truly unpredictable events

100% PRIVATE. COLD STORAGE ONLY

Everything stays securely on your device, like an isolated military mainframe. No account required and no personal data collected. The only external connection is a quantum random number generator in Australia - for events no algorithm can predict.

If you need a reason to move more, VIGIL turns every walk into a survival mission.

Requires iOS 17 or later. Integrates with the Apple Health app (HealthKit) to utilize steps, calories, sleep, workouts, and floors climbed alongside GPS for the full experience.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-03

• The shelter's phases now tell you exactly what you are missing: the precise generator, defence and capacity levels, right on the blueprint card.
• A phase can drop if you stop holding it — fuel, perimeter, survivors or supplies — and returns the moment you fix it. The works you have paid for are never lost.
• Every warning carries its fix one tap away: assign the task that solves it.
• Survivor tasks now show what they feed: works, food or ammo.
• Rebalanced the cost of each phase across all four difficulties.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-08-01

• Minor fixes.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-07-30

• The shelter blueprint now tells built apart from projected: every piece waits for its own system to be upgraded.
• The annex is the generator, the perimeter wall is defence, and the bunks on the mezzanine are capacity. Until you raise that system, the piece stays dashed and the blueprint tells you which one is missing.
• The phase counter says the same at a glance: the box of a pending piece stays half-filled.
• Expanded blueprint help explaining all of it.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-29

• A new shelter blueprint: a technical section with concrete walls, the interior on show and the ruined neighbourhood behind it.
• Watch it get built: whatever you have not raised yet is drawn dashed and sharpens as you progress, and the temporary works clear themselves away.
• The blueprint tells your situation: it goes dark without fuel, it cracks if your sector falls, and it shows rain, fog and heat.
• Every Shelter card now has its own help, and the urgent ones come first.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-28

• TEMPORARY BASE: if you spend more than a day away from home, VIGIL notifies you and offers to deploy the shelter wherever you are. Built for holidays, work trips or any long stay.
• Your home zone is sealed while you are away: it consumes no resources, catches no infection and cannot be lost. You get it back exactly as you left it, with its infection, its hordes and its missions.
• At your destination you play on fresh territory with real progress, instead of expedition sectors that kept regenerating infected over and over.
• Going to work and back the same day never triggers it: it only counts if you do not return to your zone.
• When you get home the app asks whether to repatriate the shelter. It never does it on its own, so a stopover cannot end your deployment by accident.
• If you move to another destination mid-trip you can redeploy there, and your sealed home stays untouched.
• You can also deploy or repatriate manually in Settings, which now shows where your temporary base is and where your sealed home is.
• The Free Zone streak freezes while you travel: travelling no longer penalises you. Steps keep counting as usual.
• Fixed the map drawing when switching territory, which could keep showing the previous zone.
