### 2/5 — Alert configure

*2024-02-12, version 2.5.229.0817*

This part of the App does not open. So I’m constantly spammed with alerts I do not need . Is there any way around that ?

### 2/5 — Sloooww

*2022-10-11, version 2.3.280.22050615*

The information provided by the application is very helpful. Accessing that information is challenging. It is very slow to connect. If you can’t connect to the information, then the application is useless.

### 1/5 — NOOOOO

*2020-03-04, version 2.1*

Please go back to the old app. This one is horrible. Now I have to login twice and it won’t remember my username. It tells me I’m already online and asks to force login. It is slow and crashes and won’t remember my filter setting. Honestly the new UI is nice but I’ll stop using it altogether because it’s a pain to use.

### 1/5 — Absolutely Worthless App

*2019-11-25, version 1.2.2*

The website has plenty of bugs whether using a desktop, or a phone. I figured the mobile app would be better while using my phone. Nope, the app is much worse. Only allows you to search today’s date or future dates. Future dates??? Really??? Not sure the purpose of this app. Devs can’t even keep the website under control...not sure how they could get an app to work properly. If the App Store allowed a negative rating, I would have given it.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t function

*2019-11-01, version 1.2.2*

Barely half the buttons actually work. Not an effective tool. Not at all user friendly for a phone. It’s almost like they shrunk down the computer version and called it a day without making it work.

### 2/5 — Crashes

*2019-07-02, version 1.2.2*

Could be great if it stayed running for more than a minute or two. It would be even better if tech support would return calls.

### 1/5 — Update needed

*2019-05-25, version 1.2.2*

The Learn system is a great tool for law enforcement but this app is worthless. Downloading the app actually forces a user to use the web browser on their phone in order to use the system.

Either update it or delete it.

I am forced to give it 1 star in order to complete the review. This app truly doesn't deserve any star.

### 1/5 — Can't even log in.

*2017-06-10, version 1.1.6*

I log in fine on the website. App tells me my username and password are wrong. I guess there goes that...

### 2/5 — Very buggy and prone to crashing

*2017-03-18, version 1.1.5*

App crashes frequently when trying to switch between functions like MHH or changing filters. Location does not update with each capture, or even every few minutes. Decent to do a quick search, or to capture a few things in one location, but wouldn't recommend it for more than that.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Literally awful

*2025-07-16, version 2.5.235*

This app never works and always crashes. There must be zero maintenance being done to this app because it never ever loads properly and the few times you even get to enter a plate search it just crashes before the results return.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2025-03-20, version 2.5.235*

I can login to desktop version but not the app. No options on the login page to troubleshoot.

### 1/5 — Trash App

*2022-08-12, version 2.3.280.22050615*

This is supposed to be an effective tool and resource. However, this app is worthless. They let you use a pin for a quick login, then force you to login again if you use anything but scan. You constantly have to accept disclaimers you have already previously accepted. No ability to save login information. The tool is not quick or useful and you might as well sit behind a desk and use your computer.

### 1/5 — Multi-plate Scanner Crashes

*2022-06-01, version 2.3.280.22050615*

Since the April update, the app crashes routinely. I have tried it on an iPhone XS and an iPhone SE with the same issue every time.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2020-05-13, version 2.1*

This updated version is garbage. Worthless

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2020-05-13, version 2.1*

I love the idea of a PIN for access to the mobile app, but the functions on the mobile app are too limited and requires full log in and a link follow to get full access.

PIN = Good!
New user interface = Terrible

### 1/5 — Terrible go back to old functions

*2020-04-14, version 2.1*

This new app is terrible. Please change it back. This new app has slowed down my investigations in field. Change back ASAP

### 1/5 — Why.

*2020-03-31, version 2.1*

Why was this app changed and gutted? I went from using this app weekly to nothing. I log in the website on Safari now to gain access to more needed functions. Please bring the old version back.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2020-03-04, version 2.1*

Nothing works.

### 1/5 — What happened?!

*2020-03-04, version 2.1*

The new app stinks! Nothing opens at all!! A great tool which is now a brick.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — MC Review

*2022-05-07, version 2.3.280.22050615*

This app is amazing! It makes it where I can check tag numbers through the database with ease! I am also getting alerts through the app of hot plates my hotlist ! The ability to turn my phone into an LPR is a complete game changer for undercover operations! They app is very powerful to me as a law enforcement officer!!

### 5/5 — Great App with Great Reaults

*2020-12-04, version 2.2.169*

After learning how and when to use this app it’s amazing

### 5/5 — Wowsa

*2020-12-04*

So now the app is in two parts. If you want to use it as a handheld / covert scanner you can log in with a PIN vs your whole login-pswd combo. If you want to use the LEARN function you cannot use the PIN but it’s much improved over the last one. Works on an iPad also!

### 5/5 — Vastly improved

*2020-12-04, version 2.2.169*

This app had its glitches early on - it was trying to be too many things. But now that they have dedicated the app to data capture, and separated out the analytics into a mobile friendly website (which can be accessed via the app), it is awesome. The ability to leave my phone’s camera on and capture any plates it sees - even while moving around - is incredible! It is literally like having an LPR system in your pocket. Great job to Vigilant / Motorola!

### 5/5 — Scan Plates & Faces

*2020-12-04, version 2.2.169*

Easy to use app for quick plate searches and facial rec. out in the field. Adding a hotplate is easy as well. Highly recommend. A+

### 5/5 — LEARN works well-so does LPR

*2020-06-08, version 2.1*

Big improvement over the older version. Plate scans are much better with the video camera than the older version. Learn is fast to use-you should enable the PIN logon for the app so you don’t have to enter your password twice.
Hard to believe you can scan a plate with a phone but it’s a brand new world we live in-funding pending of course.

### 5/5 — Love the LPR function.

*2020-06-06, version 2.1*

I use the LPR function almost daily. I really like this feature and the PIN makes it quick to login and get the reader up and running. For the people who don’t like the “full login” to get to the extended features, it’s a requirement for CJIS data. The facial recognition section also works really well. I’ve ID’d people from taking a photo of a CCTV screen at a retail store in minutes.

### 5/5 — App Review

*2020-06-06, version 2.1*

Since this app has been updated it is nothing short of AWESOME! Now being able to scan multiple license plates at once is a game changer! When I get into my vehicle the first this o do is log into it and start scanning tags! Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to step up their LPR game!

### 5/5 — Powerful and under rated

*2020-06-05, version 2.1*

The LPR reader alone is enough for me to give it five stars. I have used it on foot going through parking lots (and other places you can’t fit a cruiser), in my cruiser on a GPS mount, and even on my bike. Very accurate during the day, and reads better than the older SD cameras.
Recovering a stolen car, it is easy to just walk around and scan everything else with the app looking for additional cars instead of running each plate through NCIC.
Additionally, having LEARN on the phone in the app makes it much easier to run queries on the move during investigations when a laptop isn’t appropriate.

### 4/5 — Works great, just slow

*2017-05-13, version 1.1.5*

Very slow sometimes however it works flawlessly. It could use a user interface update though.
