## What is Viking Rows?

Connect your Concept2 PM5 to the Viking Rows App and row on a map-based adventure of your choosing.  

Viking Rows is geared toward on-the-water masters rowers who not only race, but who might also dabble in adventure, coastal and ocean rowing pursuits.  Viking Rows facilitates adventure simulation and visualization during indoor rowing and training sessions.

The following features are currently supported:

* Bluetooth connectivity to the Concept2 PM5 monitor.
* Map-based adventure workouts.  Track your indoor workout distances on a regional map.
* Monitor your heart rate data on screen during your workout.  Save final heart rate after workout completes.  Supports any heart rate monitor that can connect to the PM5.
* Adventures include short, medium, long, and very long adventure rows, ranging from 500m warmups to months-long ocean crossings.
* Many popular East Coast US racing venues are currently available, including the Charles, Schuylkill and Occoquan rivers.  These are helpful for race simulation and visualizations on your rowing machine.

* Auto-save workouts option when a workout is completed.

### 1.1.13 — 2023-12-13

This update fixes the following issues:

* Rotating the screen of an iPad 4th Generation running iOS v16.5.1 would cause the app to crash when on the Workout Tab and when connected to the PM5 monitor using the distributed data display.
* The App could freeze when doing an extended period rowing session of 40 minutes or more.
* The Adventure Completed flag was not properly reset when switching adventures.
* Certain edge cases associated with submitting a workout as an authenticated user of a Team after an expired User Session have been addressed.

Moreover, performance improvements to location updates of the Viking Rows ship icon on the map during a workout session have been introduced.

* The Adventure Map can optionally display the Adventure Progress Meter in the lower, right-hand corner of the map
* (2) PM5 data heads-up-displays are available and selectable in the User Profile Settings
* Ship heading information is now presented on the route in the icon callout (tap the Viking Ship icon to view)

The following new features have been added in this release:

* Users are now able to delete their account from within the App under the Profile screen.
* The Safari View Controller is now used to load external URLs inside the App to help improve user experience.

### 1.1.9 — 2023-09-27

This release fixes the following issues:

* The screen would sometimes go to sleep when rowing with the map-based adventure.  
* Retrieving the Team information and leaderboard was not working for new user accounts.
* The App would crash if the user connected the App to the PM5 monitor over bluetooth before selecting an adventure.  Now, an adventure must be selected before it is possible to connect to the PM5 monitor preventing this crash from occurring.
