It takes a while to build your settlement, collect resources & upgrade your troops, but it was worth the investment of time and effort ‘cos it’s a lot of fun. One of only a few frustrating parts of this game was buying or selling the large number of resources needed for upgrading. Each unit has to be entered individually, there’s no way to sell e.g. 100 of something without 100 clicks. My fingers got pretty tired when l had to buy 500 units of whatever. But here’s the biggest issue. I spent 9 months and countless hours of gameplay and management, had reached level 20 (the highest level) and upranking all of my warband to their max level AND max rank. Then one day l loaded the game, as l had done hundreds of time, saw a pop-up message while the game was loading which said that updates were loading and found myself back at the tutorial level. All data lost, all my facilities, Troops and ranking gone. I spoke to Netflix support and was told that since this games data is not saved on the cloud my account could not be recovered. It was not a glitch on my i-pad. It was (as far as they know) a server issue. Strangely, my old player lD is still 18th on the overall leader board 2 days after l lost access to it. It might not happen to you, but it might! Disappointed doesn’t really cover it. ### 3/5 — Good fun but full of bugs and glitches *2024-06-14* Played the game for a few months and reached level 13 and today it’s forgotten all my progress and has taken me back to the very opening tutorial. No idea how/why. Even before that, there are so many irritating things about the gameplay, like the fact that sometimes you can easily get your soldiers to attack the right target, but other times they will simply do their own thing and wander off to attack an irrelevant part of the map even as the clock ticks down to zero. Infuriating. The event battles are either far too easy or simply impossible, pitching your vastly inferior troops against a massive and highly upgraded force that stops you making any progress whatsoever. The alliance wars are ridiculous. You can go literally a month without having a battle and then suddenly you get to have two fights and then it’s done again for another month. So pointless. Lots of things to enjoy about the game too but ultimately too frustrating. ### 2/5 — Horrendous Matchmaking *2024-05-04* All in all this would be an enjoyable game, even though the resource collection requirements become increasingly lengthy as you progress. However, the enjoyment is short lived due to the completely ridiculous matchmaking system, which results in 90% of matches being against bases that are up to 5 levels above you - hence why resource collection takes so long - you’re always getting plundered. And you never encounter bases that are 4 or 5 levels below yours to balance the system. Sort this out!!! ### 3/5 — Poor balance *2024-04-04* It has some balance and time issues. First off as this was previously yet another pay to win game, you can wait a while for resource generation. The pvp balance is way off. I’m level 5 and I’m getting attacked by level 9. Also my pvp match up only gives me option for 8/9 opponents so I can’t win. The events also can be biased to people who have been playing longer and have better troops and more experience. ### 3/5 — Interesting *2024-03-20* Interesting at this point... will probably get tedious as any wait to get ressources game, but the theme is felt and overall quite enjoyable. ### 4/5 — Great game *2024-03-02* It needs some bugs fixes and it needs a longer saga story. Hours of playing time gone. Please fix! ### 1/5 — Game completely deleted save data *2024-01-24* This game is actually fun…but Netflix has no idea what it’s doing with games. Do not invest your time into this game because the game randomly deleted my save data and wiped my account. Contacting customer service was a waste of time because they informed me that the game does not use cloud save data and it cannot be recovered. I put about 2 months playing every day into the game and it is gone, don’t waste your time to end in disappointment. An update to my original post, you nuked your own game. My iPad had the save data on it and I went on there to try and play and hopefully get the game back over to my phone. The game updated while I was playing and wiped the data on there too. And all my progress got erased… Game proposed to complete tutorial. The level of my settlement was 1. Again :( I’m really disappointed, cause I spent a lot of time here to build my 9 level settlement. Unfortunately, I have no passion to start all over again. Opened app, it updated and took me back to a tutorial at the end of which I found myself back to level 1. I worked for weeks to get to level 15 and now I am completely wiped out. As others have said in the reviews, resource collection is way to slow, game will not let you send your units where you want, filled with hackers that have unbeatable units, etc… Whole thing seems rigged and frustrating!! Since the beginning of September, 2024, however, the weekly Events tournament has stopped functioning. This makes it much harder to acquire bonus items and heroes. In addition, in October it is no longer possible to purchase runes or other items at the market, making it harder to defend your settlement from attacks, making it harder to hold on to gold and resources. ### 1/5 — Bill *2024-07-12* Full of bugs - good game - have to restart after a while no support from Netflix ### 1/5 — Sooooo many bugs. Game progress isn’t saved to a cloud or backup server, so after an hour on the phone with support, she said I would just have to start over. Against my better judgment, I started from scratch and after getting my new character to lvl11, the game market where various resources are bought and sold has become inaccessible. A “bug” just notifies you it can’t connect to the server and to check your connection. This is happening to several accounts throughout the game. They can just delete everything. I was manually clicking thousands of times to sell items. They don’t have a slider for market. At high levels your constantly selling items. Progression is slow, PvP battles are few and far between, and I can’t play alliance wars because it always says “Preparing for war. Try again later”. Contacted helpdesk who couldn’t restore data. It’s not a play to win game, which is good! But, in the absence of play to win features, the game model remains the same and players are left waiting hours and days just to gather resources for advancement. Speaking of advancement, this feat is difficult in the face of the game’s matchmaking system which often leaves you as a player losing all your money and resources to players 5 and 6 levels above you. This level gap doesn’t sound unreasonable, but considering once you surpass level 6 and 7 there can be weeks between level progression and each level bring with it seriously greater power, the ability to defend or attack against these players is completely useless. The game might be better with the introduction of more game modes and a better matchmaking system, not going to hold me breath though. ### 1/5 — Hopeful To Changes For A More Enjoyable Gameplay *2024-02-22* The game started out really great! I was excited to play each day. But they make it practically impossible to advance in the story. You will lose the resources needed to advance to the next level to players that are at higher levels than you are. When I was a lower level the event was so much fun and then recently the third event took a turn for the worst. The event is clearly rigged. You can’t choose the unit you want to battle with and the default unit is terrible. There is so many enemies and they continually multiply. If you are a lower level the event will be nearly impossible to complete. And it’s going to take you a lot of loot. Resources come too slow and are lost too quickly. It seems they started strong and then they ruined the game trying to make the levels overly difficult. It would be helpful to have more chapters in the saga storyline, which made the game more interesting and also gave players lots of money, resources and new heroes to help upgrade troops and buildings. One of my biggest pet peeves with this game is the tendency for soldier units and heroes to wander off on their own during battle and resist being redirected to a different target. This has the effect of triggering enemy soldier units to appear when your units stumble into their zone of control, creating a large number of enemy units to fight against. Trying to corral wandering units also has the effect of running out the clock, making taking down a Great Hall much more difficult. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost battles because of this unfortunate tendency. Another unfortunate bug is when the server connection is lost while trying to buy resources or join alliance battles, which causes one to lose whatever pennings were being used at the time. ### 4/5 — Great game *2024-05-16* Awesome game but the system for collecting the resources I get is really slow and I have to raid other whenever I want to upgrade stuff ### 4/5 — Good game!!
