### 1/5 — Trojan Horse

*2026-09-10*

Says “app collects no data” but immediately fails on login and suggests you email your login data to the developer. In addition, the app is obviously branding itself as official while only the fine print says it is not.

How did this make it through the App Store review?

**Developer response:** Thanks for the honest feedback. To be clear: the app never asks for your password and never sends it anywhere. When a connection fails, it offers to send diagnostic logs to support, and you can choose an anonymized version that removes tokens and addresses. It's an independent, unofficial client. Version 2.0, now in TestFlight beta, also lets you sign in with username and password.

### 4/5 — update is a massive downgrade

*2026-07-08*

thank you for making this. it’s been great so far until the most recent update. it now clears my connection settings and i have to generate a new api key each time i open the app making it unusable. even without that issue, the project page is notably worse, and it’s now the only page that shows anything at all. This was previously better than both mDone and Veyern but i’m being forced to switch. Seems like most of the features it had are now gone. Maybe consider rolling back until whatever changes you wanted to make are compatible with the rest of the app? not a good idea to push changes you know will break the app, just wait until it’s clean then push a more comprehensive and stable update

**Developer response:** Sorry about that update. Losing your connection settings was a real bug. The token has been stored in the Keychain since 1.5, and the remaining cause, a single rejected request wiping your settings, is fixed in 2.0, currently in TestFlight beta. If you try again, I'd love to hear how it works: support@n-mayr.net

### 5/5 — Works great

*2026-05-19*

Really solid design and feel. I really like the new features that have been added but a widget would be great

**Developer response:** Thanks! A widget is on the wish list, but I can't promise a date yet.

### 4/5 — Coming along really well!

*2026-01-20*

Really enjoying Vikunja, and I’m really excited for the future capabilities of this app! My favorite part is a pretty easy to set up push notification set up, and syncing to a calendar.

I would say my next two things I’m looking forward to is a bug fix for description rendering (it currently shows RAW HTML) and a KanBan view for your project.

**Developer response:** Thanks! Descriptions no longer show raw HTML, and tappable checklists from the web are coming next. A Kanban view isn't planned for now, the app stays list-based.

### 5/5 — Overall solid

*2026-01-02*

Clean, responsive. Would love to see a widget to keep my tasks on the screen.

**Developer response:** Great to hear you like the clean, responsive design! A correction to my earlier reply: the widget has not been built yet. It is still on the list, but I can't promise a date.

### 4/5 — Great, but could be better!

*2025-10-12*

Love that there’s finally an app for Vikunja instances! There’s still a lot you can only do in the web app though. Would be nice if you could change project sharing settings from within the app!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! You're absolutely right that the web app had more features initially. Good news though - project sharing settings have been added in version 1.1, which is coming out in the next few days! You'll be able to manage all your sharing permissions directly from the app without switching to the web interface.
We're working hard to bring feature parity with the web app, so more capabilities are on the way!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-10-30

Neu in 2.0:

Neu in 1.8:

### 1.7 — 2026-09-18

Neu in 1.7:
