But the apps have gone from bad to worse to even worse. The current version says drivers are ‘Unavailable’ once you’re beyond 3 miles from their office. If you call you can get someone, but not on the app. So I just use Alpha for those rides, even though I prefer Village. ### 1/5 — Love the company but not this app *2023-03-25* I’ve always used Village as they’re local to me. But having used the app previously I’ve recently had to re-install it. It asks for my email but doesn’t recognise any of my email addresses. Now it is extraordinarily poor. As with all automated services “your taxi will be with you shortly”. Well Village taxis idea of shortly ain’t mine. Long waits and occasionally no show on a booking. ### 1/5 — Go elsewhere *2015-05-28* Same happened to me driver refused to wait as he'd arrived earlier than pick up time and as I went to get in taxi drove off, phones village they offered no apology. ### 1/5 — GPS does not work and driver was an idiot *2014-11-06* Driver waited literally 10secs then drove off past me as i was waving! Phoned up and was told he had another job when he was still in my street and for me to wait for another which took over 40mins! Absolute joke!!! ### 2/5 — Not very good *2013-11-21* Not very good. What's the point of tracking the cab when you're already in it? Plus notifications of the taxi arriving etc always come in a lump together about 20 mins after I've arrived at my destination. Works fine - fast response from taxi HQ - rapid acknowledgement of your order and taxi arrival. A great app for all S. Liv chaps and chapettes, and for their mams and nans. ### 1/5 — Inaccurate *2013-08-12* Tracking does not work at all. Received text to say taxi arrived but no taxi to be seen. Couldn't cancel as taxi apparently already picked me up! Made worse when calling to ask where taxi is and female operator argued that taxi was with me; it was not! Could've walked home quicker.
