It never does. The date and time will not stay on the correct setting, thus the scheduled time/temperature is always incorrect. I cannot adjust the temperature in the app either. I have even tried resetting the thermostat several times. If you live in a cold climate make sure you’ve got back up. From my experience, sooner or later you’ll need it. Claudia the customer service gal is absolutely no help at all and rude. The technicians barely communicate via email and after waiting a week, I’m still waiting. App currently does not work with latest iOS on iPhone or iPad - Sign In Error. No easy way to reach company as English is a second language and there is no follow through after initial response that never solves the issue. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2022-09-19, version V2.2.3* I’ve had a Vine thermostat for years and just when it seems to be reliable issues occur specifically from the app. Error messages occur stating “Parameter error” and you cannot adjust the temperature which means if there is no one home to do it manually your going to receive a very expensive electric bill. My thermostat is locked and the only way to unlock is to unplug. The app won’t even notice my commands. Their server is ridiculous! Or it’ll stop communicating completely and there’s no way to fix it or anyone to help troubleshoot. Don’t buy. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-02-26, version V2.4.3* I’ve had this thermostat connected to my 5 ton central HVAC unit for a couple months now. There’s a few negatives I’d like to mention. The thermostat is difficult to connect via the app. You must attempt the connection several times before it actually connects. The thermostat won’t update its software automatically whereas you must manually update it. I’m pretty sure this thermostat caused my hvac’s filter board’s failure due it not being updated therefore causing my hvac to not operate correctly. The thermostat has glitches. The temp settings change without touching them. I would not recommend this product. ### 1/5 — App Review *2025-02-09, version V2.4.3* This app needs a lot of fixing. I was really excited when purchasing the thermostat because I would be able to control it from the app but the app crashes all the time and I’m not able to control it from my phone. Every once in a while they shut off the server to do updates on the app be patient give it one or two days when this happens and it should be up and running again to use with your smart speaker. ### 5/5 — Vine 919 thermostat *2019-05-02, version 1.1.5* Purchased this thermostat because a friend recommended it. When I did my research, the Vine thermostat is at a decent price in comparison to others for the same features. I have yet to have issues with mine. I would recommend it. ### 5/5 — Fantastic *2018-01-18, version 1.1.3* Purchased the Vine Thermostat on Amazon for ~$90 WOW WHAT A DEAL!!! It’s a great app full control, installed in under 10 minutes and had it programmed in another 10. Easy to use and it works with Alexa, you can ask “what’s the inside temperature” “what’s the thermostat set on” “set the temperature to 72” etc. The only way it would get better is if they updated the app to do geo fencing. We have had it for 6 months and it’s been working for us, but we cannot figure out how to set up wifi, it’s pretty complicated and the app is not user friendly. I would give it a 5 stars if I were able to control it with my mobile device, but I’m giving it a 3 stars instead because we haven’t had any issues with the thermostat so far, we put in on auto and have it be on a schedule, which does well.
