## What is Vinius?

Most wine programs leak margin in three places. Vinius closes all three.

COSTS DRIFT, PRICES DON'T FOLLOW
Purchase prices shift with every supplier invoice, but most operators only reprice when they remember to, or when someone notices the margin has quietly collapsed. Vinius applies pricing rules that update automatically with your costs, keeping bottle and glass prices consistent across your entire program. Shift your markup multiplier by 0.1 and the platform effectively pays for itself from the guest check. Most operators recover the cost before the end of the first service week.

SHRINKAGE IS THE LEAK NOBODY TALKS ABOUT
In a busy wine program, 3–8% of inventory value can disappear through untracked pours, informal transfers, and stocktake variance that never gets investigated. Vinius logs every movement: pours, transfers, purchases, adjustments, as an audited record tied to a specific bottle lot. When something doesn't add up, you see exactly when it moved. Variance becomes visible before it becomes a write-off.

ORDERING, WITHOUT THE BACK-AND-FORTH
Reordering wine by memory, email, and WhatsApp costs more than the wine itself: it costs the hours your team spends chasing it. Vinius's order management engine watches stock against reorder thresholds you set per wine, turns low-stock signals into ready-to-send supplier order lists, and tracks every order from draft to delivery with full history. Backorders are handled as a workflow, not a follow-up email you hope someone sends. What used to take a phone call and a spreadsheet now takes a tap, so your team spends less time on procurement admin and more time on service.

THE LIST IS THE INVENTORY
Branded PDF wine cards and digital tablet lists generate directly from live stock. When a wine runs out, it comes off the list automatically. No manual updates between the cellar and the floor. No mid-service surprises. Your staff is equipped with more info to upsell, and your customers get better picks.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-03

Version 1.2.3
- Faster, smarter scans without a clear vintage. When a label shows no readable year, Vinius now shows tasting notes, food pairings, and serving advice right away instead of a mostly empty page, and automatically picks the best-known vintage for you.
- A cleaner way to pick a vintage. "Other vintage?" now opens a simple list of every year, marking which ones are already in Vinius and how many bottles you hold of each.
- Quicker actions after a scan. Add to cellar, Wishlist, and Taste are now clear round buttons right under the wine's name.
- Wishlist, consistent everywhere. A wine's saved state now matches across the cellar, catalogue, and wishlist screens, and a wishlist wine you don't yet own can move straight to your cellar or open its full detail page (with a confirmation before removing it).
- Suppliers, everywhere you buy. Private collectors can now record who they bought a bottle from too, and adding a new vintage now suggests the wine's usual supplier automatically.
- Better battery life. Fixed a background connection issue that kept reconnecting every minute and draining battery even when the app was idle.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-28

v1.2.2
- Scanning, redesigned. The middle tab is now Scan, opening straight to the camera; a recognised wine now takes you straight to its page instead of extra confirmation screens, and the scan result screen shows a cleaner label preview, market price, and clearer next steps.
- Wine detail actions, simplified. The wine detail bar is now just +, −, and a "…" menu holding everything else (transfer, history, pricing, tasting notes, add a vintage).
- Suppliers, sharpened. Staff can now view suppliers (read-only), supplier lists sort alphabetically, orders show up in a shared inbox on the supplier screen, and a false "no email on file" warning is fixed.
-Link a supplier to a wine. The wine detail's "…" menu now has a Supplier row, opening straight to that supplier or letting you link one; the Suppliers list is now just logo and name for a quicker scan.
- Three new ways to filter your cellar. Filter by Labels, Grape variety, or Storage Location, alongside the existing filters.
- Removing stock, simplified. Waste reasons (corked, broken, oxidised, missing) are now one-tap tiles instead of a separate step, gifts received are now available to every account, not just private cellars, and you can type a price with or without VAT and the other fills in automatically.
- Custom labels for your wines. Create your own labels under More › Labels, then tag wines with them, or mark a wine as house wine, recommended, or by-the-glass, right from its detail page.
- Smaller UI fixes.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-22

Version 1.2.1
- Host or join a blind tasting. A new Tasting section in More lets you run a blind tasting from your phone: guess the wine, reveal it, compare notes, and see who called it best.
- Set up a storage unit from a photo. Add Storage Unit now offers to read a photo of your fridge or rack and suggest the build, rows, columns, and finish for you to confirm.
- Switch venue right from Home. A new row above your activity feed opens a quick picker for your organisation and venue, without a trip to Settings.
- 3D cellar views now rotate with your phone. Turn your phone sideways for a wider view, and every 3D scene now opens full screen the same way.
- Placing bottles, easier on a phone. The Place screen now fills the screen properly, and the app explains clearly when a unit has no layout to show in 3D.
- A few finishing touches. Loading placeholders now look like an actual bottle, PDF wine lists moved next to Blind tastings under Tasting, and Reorder is now called Order throughout the app.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-20

Version 1.2.0
- A More tab, for everything else. Stats, Wishlist, Storage, Suppliers, Organization, and Settings now live in one place, alongside quick access to reordering, your venue's PDF wine lists, and Help.
- PDF wine lists, in the app. If your venue publishes a PDF wine list from the web app, it's now one tap away from More.
- Find any wine in 3D. The new Wine Locator searches your cellar and walks you straight to the room and shelf holding it, in a 3D view of your cellar.
- Let the app place your bottles. A new suggestion tool in Manage Storage fills empty slots or reorganises a whole unit for you, with a summary to review before applying.
- Plan your rooms on a tablet. Drag storage units into place on a floor plan, snapping to walls and neighbours, the same editor as the web app.
- Widget, refined. The home screen widget now matches your app icon's colours, adds quick-action buttons, and fixes a "NaN wines" display bug.

### 1.1.9 — 2026-09-19

Version 1.1.9
- A widget for your home screen (iOS). See your bottle count, wine count, and cellar value at a glance, right on your home or lock screen.
- Launch straight into the app. Scan bottle, Add wine, My cellar, and Stats are now Spotlight tiles, Siri phrases, and long-press shortcuts on your home screen.
- Find the exact bottle. A new locator shows precisely which shelf or slot a wine sits in, in 2D or 3D, and lets you place bottles straight from the wine's own page.
- Smarter after a scan. The app recognises a wine you already own, shows the market price and what you last paid, lets you record how a bottle arrived, and pick its exact shelf.
- Smoother, and it responds to your touch. Redesigned animations, haptics, and glass-effect buttons throughout, drag-to-close sheets, and instant confirmations instead of blocking pop-ups.
- Dark mode, properly automatic. "System" now actually follows your device's setting on iOS instead of always showing light.
- Cellar, sharpened. Fixed filter counts, an actual Region filter, fortified wines you can now filter for, localized country names, and no more jumping to the top when you close a wine.
