Needless to say the first time will probably be my last time using the app. The price paid for the room I booked through Vio was 2x as much as what I would have paid by simply booking through the hotel. No refundable option available. ### 1/5 — I had a very disappointing *2026-06-09* I had a very disappointing experience with the VIO app. I tried to book a hotel stay from June 13th to June 14th, 2026. However, the app misled me, and I accidentally booked the wrong dates (June 8th to June 9th). Despite contacting support, they refused a refund, citing a non-refundable policy. This was a genuine mistake, and I’m very frustrated by the lack of flexibility. We had NOT paid for our stay, even after showing we did pay thru VIO. VIO did not pay the hotel. After hours of trying to get help and getting no where in the middle of the night. We had to pay out of pocket at the front desk for even more expensive stay which was our spending money. The stress this put us!!!! and ruined our trip. You, VIO have no clue what this get away meant to me, I am so sad! My first review ever! Doesn’t seem to be legitimate. I never received a confirmation email and when I went back into the app, I didn’t see any evidence of my booking. Since I had no confirmation of the booking I assumed it had failed, and booked again. When I got to the hotel it turned out they had received both of my bookings, even though I never received confirmation of my first one, and I was charged for both bookings. Customer service told me it was due to having multiple tabs open (in the app which doesn’t make any sense) and waited to deal with it until it was too late for the hotel to refund, so I got stuck with double paying for a hotel due to their app glitching. **Developer response:** Hello TGM_Stan, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Thank you, and we look forward to assisting you. ### 1/5 — Watch for safety *2026-07-10, version 2.22.0* I had a bit of a worrying night as ai pulled up to my hotel booked through Vio — 3 homeless people drinking tequila on the roof of their car outside my room. One guy smoking cigarettes on the second floor, right by my door and AC. The whole rooms smelt like cigarette smoke and vio did not get it refunded. Sleeping in my car at 3 am leaving this review after they failed to refund me. Genuinely walked into a smoke filled hotel and they said to deal with it, good luck. Not using this service again, they do not put customers first. ### 1/5 — It’s a trap!! *2026-07-09, version 2.22.0* So the app only books nonrefundable bookings, and if your grandchild accidentally books a room while playing on your phone, they can’t help you. I talked to two or three people. I even called the booked hotel number and they said I had to go through the app. All I got was the “round and round”, so I’m out over $100 for a room in the city that’s 1100 miles away. I tried to get in touch with vio and the only way is through email, and I pretty much needed to know right away what was going on and it was hours later that they finally got back to me. That was the only drawback I’ve ever had.
