As a woman of a certain age, I have my text size set to large. With this setting in place, when I’m looking at descriptions for excursions, the margins fall outside of my screen, and I have to fill in the blanks as it were on what is being said. Normally I would do one of two things here. I can use my fingers to pinch smaller so I can read everything (or pinch larger). Nope. Can’t do that with this app. The other thing I would do is to rotate my phone to landscape mode. Nope. Can’t do that either. Please consider fixing this in the next update. ### 3/5 — Yoooo *2026-08-17* I tried a cruise with virgin voyages in the summer of 2025, and it was pretty good, but not much on the ship. When I went on Icon of The Seas in February earlier this year, and it changed everything with the food, entertainment, activities, smart elavators, and CocoCay, I know that nothing could ever beat it for the next 10+ years, but I’m going of Star of The Seas with the of possibly having FRIENDS (first time ever), AND a stop at CocoCay (the best private island in the world)! Which might be the new unbeatable experience! I’m never sailing on a cruise that doesn’t have “of the seas” in its name EVER AGAIN! I’m staying loyal to Royal! ### 3/5 — Looks great but could function better *2026-08-06* I’ve been cruising with VV for 4 years now and this app has more or less been the same throughout. The app looks great and you can tell they’ve invested a lot of money in the UX design of this app. Finding information about the ship and what’s happening on the boat is pretty intuitive… but that’s if the app loads. This development team has not put the time and effort into working on server load or weak connections, which for a business like this is so critical. Before you get on the boat, reservations come in waves that drop at midnight, but this app can absolutely not handle the load. We’re probably talking about only a couple hundred users simultaneously using the app, and they continue to not be prepared. And then once you get on the ship, where the download/upload speeds of the free WiFi are so slow, the app is not optimized under these conditions. You’ll be waiting for 10-15 seconds between page loads where being able to perform actions onboard are even more critical. A lot of my criticism comes from being an app developer myself where I believe if there was investment in app performance over design, this experience could be so much better. ### 3/5 — Lags and very slow *2026-08-04, version 1.11.1* I have been on many voyages already and the app is VERY slow. Has bugs here and there and most annoying is the dining reservation issues where time shown as available but can’t be booked and app gives a generic none sense message about a glitch in a matrix. Brought it up to customer service at least 4 times and yet on next voyage the same issue. This isn’t a rocket science to show only available times! ### 2/5 — In port needs massive improvement *2026-07-22, version 1.11.0* You’d better write down all your details in the Notes app, because once you’re disconnected from the ships WiFi you can’t get details on your shore excursions - like the meeting place. Also be prepared for shore excursions to take WAY longer than the official time leaving you scrambling to get back in time for the next one. Not intuitive to manage the trip, at least before departure ### 3/5 — Needs some work still *2026-05-13, version 1.9.0* Way better than it was years ago, but once you have checked in to your cruise, you cannot use the app unless you are on Virgins WiFi. How in the world is that helpful when you’re at ports and need to check it?!? ### 3/5 — Passport Details *2026-05-04, version 1.8.0* The app keeps sending me in circles when trying to add my passport details. As a result, I'm unable to check in and get my boarding pass. Having spoken with Sailor Services I'm advised it's a known issue and will have to check in at the port. My First Mate has added my passport details to my booking for me, yet this does not resolve the issue. Unfortunately, this is creating added stress. ### 3/5 — Rock Star Dinning Reservations *2026-05-04* As a rockstar sailing on the Scarlet lady out of Rome on 31 August, I was supposed to have access to booking restaurants on May 3 at 12 AM. It is now May 5, and I’m still unable to book any type of reservation. Very frustrating as I just received an email saying that I could book a reservation and dining reservations are open. Unfortunately, still unable to do it going into the second day. I called and they said that there were some upgrade or technical issue. But if you’re going to do that then why open up the reservation and why send out emails. Ugh! ### 4/5 — App works well when it does *2026-04-30* MSC was the first cruise line I encountered with a decent app, and Virgin has surpassed it even further. Everything is managed through the app, making it a seamless experience when it functions optimally. However, when it encounters glitches, it can lead to a frustrating situation. While the app can be slow to load initially, once it does, it offers a vast array of features, allowing you to explore all your Virgin Voyage has in store. I appreciate that the app provides numerous functionalities without requiring assistance, and when needed, Sailor Services is conveniently accessible within the app. Although I wish you could book your voyage directly through the app, I anticipate that project Ruby will soon make this function available. ### 3/5 — Misses the mark in a couple critical places *2026-04-20* Currently on board Resilient Lady and there are a few crippling failures in the app. - daily planner does not work reliably. When you add events they don’t show up correctly in your daily schedule. Some events show and others don’t. Pretty unreliable which can be frustrating since you’ll be charged for booking certain events and not showing up. - dining reservations are critical but you can’t easily swap one reservation for another. And sometimes slots will show up, you cancel an existing reservation, then there’s an error when you try to book the one you wanted. The good old install and reinstall doesn’t work to correct the issue. ### 1/5 — Can’t edit profile *2026-07-29, version 1.11.0* I can’t edit any of my check in information. When I go to settings it says I can but there’s literally nothing to click to change. Just the legal stuff. Can’t change the picture, credit card info, emergency contact…nothing. Seems like a big miss ### 1/5 — Edit button on travel document page of check in missing *2026-07-11, version 1.10.1* I need my citizenship appropriate document added to my checking but there is no edit button on step 2 of checkin. Please add it back to the app. If a US passport is scanned there should be NO secondary document required for visa ### 1/5 — Your app is horrible *2026-06-28, version 1.10.1* Why the app is working for my partner and not for me? It only finds my booking. After that it is a complete disaster. I never received the confirmation email, hence the app does not work for me. I don’t want to be spammed constantly with offers on my holiday !!! Can only partially check in, if you have to change anything your selection won’t even work, worst part is there is no option to do it online, so I guess I just won’t check in! ### 1/5 — A bit of a fail and we haven’t even started. *2026-05-11, version 1.8.0* App claims that the payment information is being used by another sailor and it assuredly isn’t. You cannot remove the payment information even after calling support and finally there is no ability to print luggage tags and get a boarding pass without getting past this step. Wow, a bit of an epic fail and we haven’t even started. My sincerest hope is that I can come back and change this to something much better. ### 1/5 — Won’t log in after leaving last voyage, virgin not helping anyone *2026-04-15, version 1.7.2* Several of us went on a voyage a month ago (separate bookings) and since coming off the voyage the app no longer lets any of us log in and says ‘voyage not found contact sailor services’. Sailor services are awful, they end your online chat as it’s too difficult for them to deal with it seems, you never get a response to emails, and whilst the phone line people are polite, they also just say they’re still working on it and can’t help. Randomly our accounts and voyages all work when we log in via the website, making this an app issue. What’s bad though is we’re going on another voyage soon and we’re lost without the app - we’re missing out on being able to book restaurants and activities - everyone knows this is a big issue if you don’t book restaurants as soon as slots are released, as you’re left with awful dining times. This is so bad, as loyal customers where the several of us affected (lots more if you look at forums) are long standing customers - this is my 12th cruise, and it’s obviously a known issue. Virgin - sort this out, it totally lets you, and us as your loyal customers, down :-( ### 1/5 — The Worst! *2026-04-15, version 1.7.2* My app has been down for a month now, and it’s crucial for booking shows for an upcoming cruise, which can’t be done online. Despite calling 15 times, I’ve received no response, and my emails remain unanswered. The customer service is completely useless!
