## What is Viridian?

Viridian turns any photo into a paint-mixing plan you can follow at the easel.

Touch a color in your reference and Viridian names the pigments to reach it, in mixing order, from the paints on your shelf: start with Yellow Ochre, add Ultramarine Blue, mute it with a touch of Burnt Umber. You get the recipe, not a hex code.

Paint in oil, acrylic, gouache, or watercolor. Switch your medium and every recipe shifts to match how that paint handles.

SAMPLE ANY IMAGE
- Load a photo, capture a scene, or paste an image link
- Pinch to zoom, drag to sample, with a loupe for pixel-level precision
- Flip any reference to black and white to read its values before you commit to a color

MIX WITH REAL PAINT
- Recipes drawn from 24 studio pigments, from Titanium White to Burnt Umber
- Tell Viridian what you own; it mixes from your shelf and substitutes when a tube is missing
- Honest confidence and adjustment notes instead of false precision

SEE THE MASSES WITH BLOCK-IN MAP
- Turn a reference into flat shapes of value, the way you block in a painting
- Six levels, from a 2-value notan to a 12-value study
- Hold the map to compare it against the photo
- Every shape carries the mix that fills it

BUILD PALETTES WITH INTENT
- Generate palettes of 3 to 10 colors from any color you save
- Seven schemes: complementary, analogous, triadic, split complementary, tonal, muted earth, high contrast
- Each swatch labeled by its job: shadow, midtone, highlight, accent, background
- Lock the colors you love and regenerate the rest

LEARN THE CRAFT
- Twelve painting techniques, from glazing to sgraffito, each cited to a standard reference
- Filtered to the medium you paint in

KEEP IT ALL TOGETHER
- Save colors with their recipe, notes, and the image they came from
- Sample straight from your saved inspiration screenshots
- Search and filter your library by color family or source

Everything runs on your device. No account, no tracking, no network.

Paint behaves differently by brand, opacity, medium, surface, and light. Treat every recipe as a starting point for your palette knife, not a promise.

PROJECTS
- Turn any reference into a project, and a bar rides along every screen so the painting you're working on stays one tap away
- Colors and palettes you save while a project is open join it on their own
- A progress timeline sits with the reference: photograph the painting as it develops and each shot becomes a step, with room for a note

IN THE STUDIO
- Adjust a mix and keep your own version of the recipe
- Copy every hex in a palette at once
- Open a reference the moment you save it, instead of hunting for it in your library
- Jump straight to My Paints from any recipe that reaches for a tube you don't own
- Each palette scheme now says what it builds, so the name isn't the only clue
- A locked swatch keeps its painting job when you regenerate the rest
