I love it! Thank you BYU! ### 5/5 — Amazing *2017-04-10, version 1.04* Brings the scriptures to life. The creator of the app is also a wonderful professor. This is just the start, I have heard later versions will even have more cool features. You can tell a lot of care has been put into all the detail of the layouts. I especially liked the option to view according to touch screen or the virtual reality gyro function. It made me feel like I was transported there! One thing to fix: when I was in gyro mode of a view, then tapped the eye icon to switch to a different vantage point, the gyro function stopped working and the viewpoint would not move. I would have to switch from touch back to gyro to get it to work again. ### 5/5 — Great work guys *2017-04-06, version 1.04* I'm alumni and worked at the CID or CTL for a couple years as a student. This is great work guys. You should be very proud of your work. A suggestion... perhaps have one of the faculty do a guided tour and just have them speak freely and give more details. But great job. As a seminary teacher I will definitely be using this to help my students get a better feel of the Holy Land. Yes, there are the big budget films, and so forth, but of virtual models, only Glo Bible comes close. I've done a lot of research on existing 3D models and they have done a beautiful job. While it doesn't carry the smells of the old city and the interest and culture of the people today, seeing it how it would have been in Jesus day in some ways makes it even better! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Historically Inaccurate *2023-02-16, version 1.04* Nice detail but many historical inaccuracies. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2017-04-12, version 1.04* Some of the dimensions and various details in the Temple Mount enclosure are off. Also, compared to other recreations in video or graphic form, this version of the Temple seems lifeless and abandoned to the point of looking creepy. The absence and/or alteration of various details adds to that sense. There are plenty of well-developed rabbinic resources that, if they had been consulted, could have greatly enhanced the preparation of this app. I'm deleting it. ### 2/5 — Graphics great but.... *2017-04-07, version 1.04* This is beautiful, but it is impossible to read the descriptions. I have an IPhone 6+screen and still can't see it. Anyone with a regular phone is just plain out of luck! There is no zoom feature for the descriptions either. Could you make a zoom feature for the description, or have it fill the screen when you tap on it? I would give it a 5 if that is fixed ### 3/5 — Good Start *2023-01-02, version 1.04* I like the idea, but having two problems with it. First there is no control of the text size. The text looks like it was meant to be read from an iPad, but from phone it’s way too small. Second, there is no way to exit the app once it is open. I have to shut down my phone to get out. I love all the hot spots that provide key information about the city and the temple. My kids have been engaging with it for hours. Why 3 stars? The app crashes on some iPads when trying to view the temple walk through and the sun and other hot spots of light look like big black "out of gamut" errors. It's odd because my oldest iPad mini v1 works fine (although slow) where my newest iPad Pro shows the anomaly. My iPad v4 crashes. ### 4/5 — Great start *2017-04-11, version 1.04* Great job so far. Was trying to find the entrance to the city for Palm Sunday but currently the city views are restricted to specific locations. There is a bug in the temple tour where the sun appears black and sunlight elements show black all over the environment (the sun works fine in the city). No explanation about the Holiest Place (is that a rock? Where's the ark?). Looking forward to more detail, search terms to find places to explore (index of scripture references and locations), zoom into garden tomb/garden geth./calvary). Super excited about Ancient Rome/Greece and other places. ### 4/5 — Very cool *2017-02-14, version 1.0* This is a beautiful representation of Jerusalem during the time of Jesus Christ thank you for putting this together. the only problem I see is that your sun and other really bright spots in the 3-D interactive mode turn black. I really wish further development on this app would continue.
