I own an iPhone SE and this last update has cut over a quarter of an inch of playing space on the screen on both sides of the screen. 
Need a fix ASAP. 
Also another complaint. In the last two three updates I noticed the cue ball has a problem rolling after striking a ball way beyond the normal expectation. Its the main cause of scratches and unintended ball placement after a shot. Fix this please.

Play Curley in 6 ball quick play.  Extremely difficult to beat this cat. Been playing for years and am a skilled player.  It is near impossible to beat Curley.  He rarely misses, but when he does you are japped.  No shot.  He usually runs the table, sinks the 6 ball routinely on the break, sinks multiple balls on the break, and never scratches.  He's got the best touch of the que that nobody could possibly match. You get him down a game or two out of three, and you will see Curley make the most amazing shots.  Incredible!  You break and you are luck if you sink one ball.  Shots you take that you think would never scratch the que ball on seem to scratch at an alarming rate.  This is a good game but needs some refinement for touch of the que and sight lines down the table.  Why do we players never break first?

Went through the whole competition in career mode.  No frozen screens and no restarts.  Updating alone might not get you out of the frozen overhead screen from the previous update (v2.5).  At least it didn't for me.  I had to delete the app and do a complete re-install to get it to work.  You have to start from the beginning, but hey, the game works and playing it is fun.

UPDATE: Game finally crashed.  Got the overhead frozen screen. I notice it tends to happen when you leave the app in mid-game.  So, sink the final ball or finish the match before exiting the game. It shouldn't be the case, but, oh well.  At least it lasted longer than v2.5. Until the next revision, time to start over.

I wrestled with the decision as to which pool game to buy and for the most part I am happy with my decision. However there are a few issues I have with this game that I believe could be fixed with a fairly easy update..

1) the menu system is almost terrible.. It functions but has issues of being non responsive and plain boring

2) the aim aid is frustrating.. I always like to play with it on, but do I have to turn it on every single time I start up the game or turn it on again every single time I call my 8 ball shot? I know its just one little button push but why do i even have to deal with that? The fact that this is an issue is just plain laziness on the developers part.

The actual gameplay is the best of any pool game and I appreciate the pace of the game without all the silly frills other games have but this title desperately needs a facelift if it is going to compete with the new girl next door pool pro online 3.

As others had said. The game has many realistic features, but a few are missing. Masse and jump shots would be nice. The buttons are too close together so sometimes you lose a turn when moving fast because something didn't get selected and you end up shooting. This happens alot when missing the button to put english on it. The worst problem is that players only marginally get better until you encounter Slo Roll as the second to last player. She is Significantly better, and I've seen her go six games several times without missing and I don't even get a shot. The skill progression should be more gradual, and you should at least have a chance at beating Slo Roll on Hard Mode--especially beacause the computer can always aim a bit better than you due to the limted resolution of the iPhone. These are dissapointing traits of a potentially excellent game.

The game is compulsively playable, with great ball physics - my real-life game has improved since playing this version as a result. Game play is fun and challenging at "easy" through "hard" levels -- that is, until the penultimate opponent. At the point, like other reviewers have noted, your opponent ("Slow Roll") becomes absurdly skillful. I've gone through three breaks straight without being able to hit a ball once. At that point you're basically just a spectator watching a pool simulator. I haven't even bothered with the "good luck" setting, which must be literally unplayable, forget about about winnable. Still, it's great fun up to that point.

This game is amazing, period! I play this game quite often for hours on end and not one time has the game ever frozen up. Also, the game is vey accurate and the ball goes exactly where intended. For those complaining about roll accuracy, there is one caveat: you have to have been good at the game in real life to appreciate the game's amazing realism.  The game is perfect! But you should reboot the phone after playing for extended periods as the game is processor, memory and majorly battery intensive.

I love this app.  This would be like the PC version except for a couple of things.  There isn't any background music except for the pool sounds and the ability to chat with your opponent.  I can live without the music but please add the chat capability.  This would up my star rating to a five star.

The new chat window does not work.  It would be nice if the chat showed up in the pool room instead of another window just like the pc version.  The ability to type only can happen when you have the turn.  It would make sense to type while your opponent is shooting or both.  Please fix this.  It is still a fun app.

You get a lot of game for just 99¢. The graphics and game play are great, I had to check again to see if I paid more because it's worth a lot more. I find the controls to be a bit frustrating though. Often I hit the ball much lighter or harder than I intended to. I also find I often will try to move the cue stick and instead I tilt up and or pan left or right. I would also like to edit what rules the game follows as I disagree with the rule that when I hit a ball in and scratch that the ball I knocked in gets place back on the table. I don't care if it's an official rule, it's frustrating (yeah, I'm not very good at pool, half the time I manage to knock the other player's ball in instead)

In this pool game your are able to have different viewpoints around the pool table such as overhead, first person and I especially like how you can see the detail of the room you are in. With online play this game has gotten better,only drawback now online is the lack of players and there should be a time limit when its your turn since some online players go afk. Overall it is unqiue and different from other pool games, this is my personal favorite.

Take the money and run. App virtually useless. Invites don’t work. An opponent hits the cue ball in wrong direction. What gives?

I'm only glad that it cost just $2. I've been attempting for over a week to play with friends on my contact list through the online selection and no one could ever connect. I think I was able to successfully play twice out of two dozen attempts.

Moreover, if you do manage to connect with a friend to play and your phone rings? Game freezes. Have to reconnect and start a fresh game. If you go to a different screen, like say, if you're replying to a txt msg, another game freeze -restart a new game...etc.

Had I known this, I wouldn't even spent money to save myself the frustration. Developers must seriously FIX this asap!!

I love this game. I had it on my phone for quite some time, but it did not upgrade when I got os 11. So I figured what the heck, and bought it again. Now whenever I open it in career mode, it crashes. Fix this and I will give it 5 stars!!

I'm unable to normally progress levels--the game doesn't record victories and simply repeats each match some number of times; a number that's apparently increasing as I move from venue to venue. I've beaten Jessie the Bod 4 (update: 5 and continuing to increase) times now--a match that requires a 9-game victory and takes a whole lot of time and effort especially with the A.I. at its best. 

This was the best pool game by a sheer mile. It broke over a year ago with numerous glitches such as no sound. There were lengthy, unacceptable delays in getting that fixed. Now the update is out--sound is fixed; awesome--but at one heck of a steep price. The bugs are rampant but, worse, they're obvious (and already documented by other reviewers)--shame on you devs/testers. 1 star by virtue of customer service, update quality, tardiness and what seems to be a general disregard for engineering. Consider me disappointed and looking elsewhere.

I feel this game has the potential to be a very good game but it is missing some critical components when I play.

First of all, this game is way too expensive not to have some goodies for the buyer.  The pool stick looks very cheap.

When you earn lots of money, you should have the option to purchase better and more expensive sticks with really nice designs to make the game more interesting.

Although you have the option to move the screen for a better angle to shoot, I feel there should be better clarity/view for the angles.

The stick isn't long enough to control the speed of the queue ball from the stick.  I ended up shooting all day without the ability to control the queue to have it exactly where I want it for my next shot.

For that kind of money it would be nice to get at least 10 options for background music while you play to help players enjoy the game more, but I maybe asking for too much, lol.

But on a serious note, the ability to control the speed of the queue ball from the stick is of urgent matter because it really is keeping me from enjoying the game.

Once these things are fixed through the next upgrade then I would adjust my ratings to 5 stars; until then, I would strongly discourage buyers to invest in entertainment that would only irritate them.

I am writing this review because I would not have purchased this app had I known about these issues.

I got this app sometime back in the fall and really enjoyed it. I played all the way through on the easier level so I turned it up to "good luck." Though more difficult (I lost a round or two) I managed to work my way up to Slow Roll and then put the game away for a while. (Prior to these updates.) 

Well, I picked it back up today, mid round, and couldn't believe it. Right off the bat , the computer ran the table on a break. When I got to break, I made a few good shots, but eventually missed one and-- yep, it ran the table again. And again and again. I'm not really sure what the point is anymore.

Hopefully they'll dial it back down a little. (Otherwise, I'd be giving this 4 stars.)

Would be great if not for the maddening problems.  Seems like that is the story of most iPhone apps, and this one is no different.  Balls often do not go where my aim is, especially toward the end of the game.  The English seems to be just a suggestion -- no telling what the cue is going to do.  The computer players seem to not have this problem as much.  The resolution is so poor that you often can't tell solids from stripes.  I mistakenly hit the wrong player's ball one in ten games.  Sometimes a game is awarded to the wrong player.  Graphic sequences tend to repeat when something is happening in the background, such as downloading spam or ads.  I don't know what rules the app uses, but they are a bit foreign to me.  Other player gets to place the ball if I don't hit a rail?  Give me a break, that's not how real people play pool.  Finally, the app experience is worse after drinking, which is the opposite of actual pool.

Three significant problems -- 
1) The tables seem to be coated with Teflon, or possibly a thin layer of ice -- ball speed is absurdly fast. This leads to...
2) WAY too many unjustifiable scratches, all too often when it is convenient for the CPU player.
But the biggest issue:
3) CPU opponent difficulty level is very poorly calibrated. At the "hard" level, I easily beat all players every time except Slow Roll, who easily beats me every time. This has been true for 8-ball, 9-ball and straight pool. (And designers please note: it is REALLY BORING to sit around and watch Slow Roll make 10-15 consecutive shots, which is not an uncommon occurrence. At some point, I would prefer to be participating in my own video game.) In my experience, the closest thing to an even matchup is against Curly at the "medium" level. Very frustrating!!!

This game really plays like an actual pool game. It has excellent English, good banking, great cuts, but if you want to play a legit game of pool against the opponents then don't waist your time. This game cheats when calling your shot and successfully making it, it will still give you a loss. The opponents even on easy will run the table 9 straight games. I am VERY good at any video game I play, my x-box live stats prove it!! (HERZLOS74) The fact that I can't even come close to beating this game even on easy in the final rooms is a joke. I have been trying for over two weeks and I can't slow down these rediculous runs these people go on. There are some serious kinks that need to be worked out of this game!!

I’ve had this app since 2014 . Back then it seemed that most pool games were not similar to actual movements on the table .it had been quite a time since I used the app . I AM ECSTATIC ABOUT THE WAY THE GAME PLAYS NOW ! It is fantastic, the BEST !  Thank you on the improvements . *****

This is a great game, one that I play every day. Very realistic. Many options to choose from, so I'm able to pick exactly how I want to play. Highly recommended. And the developer is quickly responsive to any issues that arise. If you like pool, you'll love this game.

I've had this app since way back in 2009 when I bought it on my 2nd generation iPod Touch and I'm very happy to see it was updated to support my iPhone 6's resolution now as well 5 years later.  Probably one of my favorite games too so it's great to see that it's still supported.  The only suggestions I have are maybe doing a new separate HD version using the new Metal API with swanky graphics and better sound but it's still great the way it is for a simple yet highly addictive game of billiards.

This has been my favorite app for the iPhone, was a great game as it was, and I made the mistake of doing the latest update.  It's terrible and I hope they switch it back.  The two biggest issues are that when you are against the rail it wont let you get a lower look down the cue to line it up well.  And  because of this if your using the shot gauge you can't even see the ball if it's down the other side of the table.  I understand the concept of it but I'm afraid it wasn't thought out very well.  

What was a great game has been heavily comprised.  I need to find a way to roll it back to previous version.

Update: The developers have continued to tweak this game and make it better. The addition of being able to play in realtime with opponents around the world just made it even more fun. The only thing I have a wish for is a way to track your progress as you unlock rooms. Just a simple check mark on each opponents sheet so you can remember if you beat that one or not. That would be great!

This game is awesome. Some of the ones that write bad reviews just need to learn how to play it. The english you put on the cue ball makes it react perfectly. Even though I know a lot about playing, I found starting in the easy 9 ball mode first to be helpful. The aim line is there as a guide only and you have to adjust it manually to get the most accurate shot which is just fine. In a little over a week playing in my spare time, I have made it to the 4th room and have made over $13,000. (I wish that were real, LOL)
The updates will keep improving I'm sure. 
Great job on bringing this to the iphone guys. I love it.

The physics and overall game play of this version are outstanding, and at $1.99, it's a no-brainer. The sound effects are still a little weak, but it's not about the sound. I'm glad they increased the skill level in this version so the top two players are a little better. I have been beating Curly in most of my games, and I haven't lost a match to him yet. After this update, he's definitely a bigger challenge. 

My biggest complaint is the lack of support for the Retina Display. Technically, how hard can it be to double the rendering resolution in an OpenGL game? The edges of the balls are pretty jaggy, as you can see from the screen shots above.  An update with Retina Display support would make this game just about perfect, but even without that, it deserves 5 stars, especially for only $1.99.

How ever I have one request, I am in the process of moving and my parents are getting rid of my pool table , I love this table more than life itself , it has beautiful purple felt and I am really going to miss it, so here is what I am asking , in a update can you make it so the players can change the color of the tables felt? That would be great so I can change it to purple to remind me of my table , please make this update and it will make  me happy

This is an excellent pool game, just like it was when it was first released for the computer.  It is also much better than the other pool apps at the store, especially if you're looking for realism.  This is also my favorite game out of all of them that I have downloaded, and I have downloaded many of the top ranking games and apps in the store.

The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is for one bug.  If a player wins the last game of the match from a foul out (like in rotation), then the match starts over, and you lose any advantage in the match.  For example, if you were given 3 games at the beginning, it will start over and it will be even at zero.  It's a little annoying losing the money on the match if you already won it off of a foul.  Fix this, and it will be perfect, and I will adjust my rating.

I have played pool for 30 years, and this is as close to the real thing as one could hope for on such a small format.  I have played on the computer version and always liked the game, until I got a real table.  Now in Baghdad I dont get to hit the real table much.  

This is like the real thing - if you cant play pool on a real table, you will not beat the top guy.  I beat him for the series, but not before he took a few games from me.  I bet the next time I play him, he is even tougher; bring it on.  If you miss on your turn, you will lose.  That is true to life.  Get used to it.  

Now I just have to set up wireless so I can play online - Any competitors?

Suggestion:  Make it like one of the flying games I have where you can make a playlist from you music while you play.  That would be excellent.
