The collections were fun and interactive, glad to have the kids ‘working’ instead of in the way. Additionally, looking for those collectibles made the ‘waiting around’ less of a chore. Dislikes: - for Healer: they don’t continue to learn like they did for VV1. So how do you ever get them to Master, except by babysitting them and dragging them one to of the plants constantly. - for skill advancement: some are stuck on the Adept skill for decades and never make Master, when that is the only job I give them - for Farming: when I task them to farm, the Villager(s) will do so for one round then walk off to get coconuts and deplete that stash when there is an entire plot of farm ready to be harvested, unlike VV1 Overall: I had to babysit this game MUCH more than I wanted to. ### 4/5 — Shari B *2025-11-12, version 1.3.2* I cannot download this game. ANY SUGGESTIONS ANYONE?? ### 2/5 — Poor aspect ratio, feels awful to play *2024-11-16, version 1.3.2* Just grabbed this since it was the game in the series I had the least experience with and it’s only a dollar. Probably should’ve tested the free version first because the game doesn’t fit into the phone screen, but much worse is that trying to move around the island feels terrible. It’s very jittery and slow and nothing like any of the other phone versions I’ve tried over my life. This is a very old game but the other ports I’ve tried haven’t had these issues, only a dollar but I would just stick to the PC version if you wanted a nostalgia trip. ### 4/5 — Frustrating glitch!!! *2023-12-11, version 1.3.2* Only the first builder to reach master status can actually get there. I have been putting two adept builders on the vines at least a dozen times, and their skill progress bars don’t increase, even after several times when the game has said, “this villager improved at construction”. I am pretty sure I need two or three master builders to open the crate on the beach. I have level two technology in every category. I am trying to solve the puzzles without referring to online game guides. Fix this. ### 3/5 — Where Are The Sound Effects? *2022-09-20, version 1.3.2* I had the original game but hadn’t played it in several years. One of the problems I experienced was the fact that the sound effects did not work. For example, I found that after playing for a few hours I couldn’t hear the hammers when the builders were building the huts. Also, the noises coming from the lab table disappeared after a while. I finally got the update for my new I Pad and lo and behold, the same problems are occurring. Add to that when I pause the game and turn it back on later, there is no sound at all. I have to fiddle with not only the game sound control, but my I Pad’s as well. This is very discouraging because I enjoy the game. But if something can’t be done to fix the problem, I may wind up deleting it. ### 2/5 — Adverts ruining it *2022-06-07, version 1.3.2* The adverts have ruined this game. Upon startup of the game I get asked if I would like to allow Ad tracking. I say no, and then start playing. Without fail, as soon as I try to collect my crafted item the game crashes. I think this is due to it trying to play an advert but it can’t do it. It plays random adverts in the middle of game play, and it’s just a rubbish game experience with the ads as they are. The ad frequency has worsened since I started playing a few months ago. It used to be “watch an advert for a reward”, but now they just pop up for no specific reason. ### 3/5 — Vv2 *2021-06-04, version 1.3.2* Great game and brings back memories although it as a pretty major glitch. If I pause it it doesn’t always stay paused killing off the villagers I’ve spent hours on. I’ve bought the game only to find this. Which is a shame cause I love playing virtual villagers. ### 4/5 — Broken Keyboard *2019-01-31, version 1.3.2* So chose Sunimeg in the Silver Mirror event, and I wanted to be able to differentiate between the clones by changing the clone’s name, but when I tap on the name, the typing bar flashes, but my keyboard doesn’t come up. Love the game besides that, this game was a big part of my childhood. ### 3/5 — Confusing? *2018-10-16, version 1.3.2* There has to be some kind of bug that restarts your game, this is the second time it’s happened. The other one happened on the 4th game, both where I’ve had max population and all the stuff unlocked and then come back the next day and it was on the starting menu. There’s no way an entire island of people could just die, and there’s no notification of it either. I’ve had them die naturally at the beginning At I was just looking at a bunch of skeletons. Wish I had known ### 3/5 — I like playing it... but *2018-07-30, version 1.3.2* I liked playing these games on my computer and finally decided to start playing them on my iPhone. I passed the original virtual villagers in less than a week without a restart because I had previously beaten it. What I don’t like about any of the other virtual villagers games going forward is the the original/first lets you buy “boosters” of help like 2x tech point, buying tech point and food. I know everyone isn’t always about pay for a game but without any sort of help on the 2nd and 3rd games I’ve had to restart numerous times. I also have the issue with when I go to pause it, it doesn’t actually pause and all my villagers die overnight. Please fix these issues so I don’t have to cheat and look up help online to try to move to the next game! ### 3/5 — What in the! *2018-06-27, version 1.3.2* REALLY 180,000 tech points for Farming Lvl 3?!?!???? No, it’s not multiplayer (although I hope one day they will offer that) but I sit with them & we do it together. This developer has clearly put time & effort into this game & all the others.
