Used to work great out in the woods in offline mode with downloaded maps but has ceased to function properly. How does the USFS not have a user friendly MAP APP!? ### 1/5 — Slow and Barely Functional *2021-09-09, version 1.2.3* Takes a long while to open up the map after opening the app. Selecting a camp site results in an error. ### 1/5 — Useless *2020-12-15, version 1.2.2* This app is so useless. Whatever closet tech nerd wrote this should be ashamed. Open and select OHV Over 50 inches then zoom in to desired locations and all it shows is hiking and picture opportunities and boat launches. No off-road trail systems are shown and then, it just crashes as you zoom back out to start over. Still can’t download any offline maps as I keep getting an error message. This app used to be great but is now useless off the grid. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — A great application for Overlanding *2021-05-12, version 1.2.3* Overall this Application is getting better and better with each new update. I’ve been using it for several years now in the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia with great success. I very much appreciate the forest service offering the free application and also keeping information such as weather warnings and fire up-to-date. We also camp quite a bit on the western states including California, Oregon and Washington and it is always hopeful to see where the fires are. As far as off-line capability goes its latest update is quite useful in addition to being able to save maps for completely off-line use. This is one of the better free apps out there and I would highly recommend to all my overlanding, off grid or 4x4 friends. ### 5/5 — Applause to USFS for this app *2020-12-20, version 1.2.2* This is immensely helpful for trip planning. I’m into bike packing; this app gives me everything I need to plan a backroads/backwoods trip. I’ll use other maps to fine-tune details, but this app gives me a great place to start.
