We use iCloud to backup your data. If you have iCloud turned off and delete the app your data might be lost. Due to the sensitive nature of location data we don’t store anything on our servers, in fact we don’t have servers. Everything is linked to your iCloud account. If you still have questions please contact me at feedback@visits.app ### 4/5 — Amazing, BUT.... *2021-05-03* I need the option to reset my tracking to zero places and start over. Is there a way that's already available which I don't know of? **Developer response:** I think so. Turn off iCloud for visits and reinstall the app ### 4/5 — Love it *2019-08-05* I try to incorporate all the things I need to do into one trip if possible and this app helps me to remember where I’ve been because at the end of a long day sometimes I don’t remember. It works great and it logs how long you been there, how many times you’ve been there. It’s the only app at the App Store that is able to do these things. Stay tuned. ### 4/5 — I know what you did last summer *2019-06-09* Tracks almost your every move, which is fun to review, until you realize it’s .recording. your every move. Creepy. Using Google maps, the location finder can differentiate between buildings 1/2 mile apart. Accuracy from -spot on, names the location, to -pretty good, names a nearby street, to -Totally Missed my trip 28 miles away for a three hour visit, lost off the grid. Why? **Developer response:** Thanks for the review. We built it so you can see where you’re spending your time and also find places you might have forgotten. We take our users privacy very seriously. We do not collect your location data and sell it. If fact currently we don’t collect any data. We have to strike a balance between accuracy and battery life. Sometimes we do miss a visit. We’re working on a new version to bring more useful features. Stay tuned! ### 3/5 — Reliability *2018-12-24* I have been using for around 2 weeks, the place I spend most time is my house for 8 or 10 hours a day, some days it doesn’t show that I was at my house at all. When it saves a location app gives you great info map location and time spent. Only problem I have is app misses a few locations I visit every day. I am using an apple XS, maybe it works better on older phones. Maybe it needs an update. ### 4/5 — Cautiously Optimistic *2018-12-16* The idea of this app is terrific. Very useful! Some locations traveled to are missing in the data. Novel idea, but if accuracy is not guaranteed, it is just for entertainment only. ### 2/5 — Why? *2018-11-25* I saw it went free for few days. So, was curious. If it’s a paid app, there must be something to this for people to want to pay for it. It basically supposed to track every where you go. It probably useful to somebody but it’s the antithesis of what most any one would want. The app offers the option to allow location when using the app but doesn’t allow use to use that. That’s odd that it offers that. Since it would let me procede to just check the app out, it gets two stars. **Developer response:** Thank you for downloading Visits. The purpose of this app is to automatically log your visits. Over time you will see the places you've visited right on the map. For this purpose it needs to always track your location. All of this happens without a huge drain to your battery life. Since the app relies on your location data we take your privacy very seriously. We do not collect your location data or share any data with advertisers or third parties. ### 4/5 — Gets better the longer you use it *2018-11-16* The developers say several times in the description that this app works better the longer you have used it, and they are correct. After the first few days I was ready to delete it and just use the built in tracker on my GPS software, because nothing was getting recorded. But I left it installed and pretty much ignored it for a few weeks. Yesterday the GPS software recorded nothing, but this app had everything noted perfectly! I’m using the app to track my work hours and mileage since I spend a lot of time running around for work, but also do some personal errands in the middle of work errands, and this is saving me from having to keep track of a bunch of little slips of paper where I had written down times in and out, etc. **Developer response:** Thank You! We really appreciate your positivity. Currently there are technical limitations to making the technology work instantly. Did everything they said to do. Got every privacy and location service turned on. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2019-06-28, version 1.8.3* One of the worst apps ever. Save your money. Try Geofency or WHIB. Stuck with this one more than a month hoping it would work. It never did. Paid for it. Still doesn't work. Of the 3, WHIB comes closest to what you'd expect from an app like this. ### 1/5 — Bait and switch *2019-05-04* It went free for a few days so I got it. Today I look in it and they want 2.99 to do anything. I don’t call that free if it only works for a couple weeks. Even if it says “in app purchases”. To me “in app purchases“ means part of it works and I can add some special features for extra money. Missing part is “part of it works“ which isn’t true today. **Developer response:** We recently moved to a free trial model. Where we let you use the app and all the features for up to 30 visits. We’re just two people working on this and we built it because we really want to build deep technology and bring it to people in a clear and simple way. We don’t collect or sell your location information or even display ads. We need to charge a small fee from each user to be able to continue. If you enjoyed using the app and found it useful I would ask you to buy it and help us to continue making apps like this. With the next version I will update the app description to mention the free trial condition so no one else is confused. ### 1/5 — Idk *2019-01-27, version 1.5.2* I accidentally purchased this app and I can’t get a refund..... plz help!!!! ### 1/5 — It’s not working *2019-01-16, version 1.5* I have had this app for a couple months and it says “No place visited, every day! Update: I have had this for another month and it is still not working! ### 1/5 — Does nothing *2018-12-23* Installed on latest iOS 12.1.2 on my iPhone X. Left it running. Left house. Drove 20 mins to mall to do Christmas shopping. Been at the mall 2 hours. App says “No places visited” but my other app “Where have I been” is working fine, showing my everything I’ve done. This app does nothing, and yes I enabled location services “always” in Privacy Settings and everything else it asked for. Can I get a refund? **Developer response:** Hey we’re sorry the app wasn’t what you expected. You can get a refund directly from Apple for up to 90 days. It may take up to 14 days to deliver more reliable results. You will get a notification reminding you that Visits is using your location. I recommend you wait till then. ### 1/5 — App not WORKING! *2018-11-28, version 1.4.9* Does it work in INDIA ### 1/5 — Not always working *2018-09-02* I used to have Moves & loved it, so I was happy to see the recommendation for this app & purchased it right away. Unfortunately, it‘s not tracking very well. I had it a whole day, going from home to work & back again, before it picked up anything. And when it finally began, it started in the middle of the night! **Developer response:** The technology that we use is complex, dependent on many factors, and it takes a little while to adjust and give you accurate results. It may take up to 14 days to become more accurate. Let us know if you’re still having a problem with the app. ### 1/5 — Pretty inaccurate so far *2018-07-24* I have been using this for a week. Looks like it is very low resolution for non US locations. It just tells me I am in certain city/town which is not very helpful. It should also have some way to conflate locations it thinks are different and would not let you name it to the other one. **Developer response:** The technology that enables the automatic nature of the app is complex. We have to strike a balance between battery life and accuracy. There are however a few things you can do to improve the accuracy. I use it to keep a location based journal. ### 5/5 — Tracking how much time I am sites *2023-09-27* I am a regional manager and I arrive and Go in and talk to managers and help as much as I can. Sometimes I am quickly adjusting schedule and fielding calls from other locations on issues. The day can be blur and I try to stay focused on staff and facility. So at the end of the month when I look back and realize I did not keep tabs on where I was a s well as I should. Visits gives me a way to track my “visits “! **Developer response:** Thank you for the review ### 5/5 — Runs in background *2022-04-01* I use Visits Journal in the background, unlike some who use it to document travel on the job. For my purposes, it is great, especially when I want to remember where I have visited over the weeks (and years). It is not always completely accurate, ie, it might show the location as across the intersection from my actual location. But, it is easy enough to figure out where I was, and that is a good trade off to avoid draining my battery as do some GPS apps. Thank you for creating this app. **Developer response:** Welcome. I know it’s not perfect, but we did the best we could, and made it as fun to use as possible. ### 5/5 — Only works sometimes *2020-06-05* I have been using this app for Avery long time I am very disappointed because I wanted it to track all the places I traveled for my job. Since I travel around the world or did before covid! On Monday morning I drive to a particular location opened the app - hoping it would document my location. It did not. As a matter of fact it has not documented any place I have been since May 30. I have very disappointed in the app and it’s consistent inconsistencies. I wish you all would fix it! This is the 2nd time I have written to you. You said you would fix it..guess you don’t know how **Developer response:** Unfortunately this is a problem with Apple’s API and we have been in touch with them multiple times to solve the problem. We are only two people working on this and we just weren’t able to make enough out of this app to be able to continue. We put our best foot forward and unfortunately we have to say bye for now. Apple at some point may fix their API then the app may work more consistently. We didn’t want to use a third party vendor because they are only interested in collecting your location data. We can’t guarantee your privacy if we did that. ### 5/5 — Unique and Essential *2020-02-09* Visits is the only app that effortlessly keeps track of where I’ve been using a completely native iOS interface while absolutely respecting my privacy. And the developers are highly responsive. Seeing my “visits” mapped out over time compels me to get out there and travel more!
