But if you want to raise your verbal score, look no further. After trying numerous apps and flash cards, we found ultimate success with Visual Vocab. The pictures are memorable & relevant, and the words are on point. The quizzes never get boring. Take note SSAT! Beware vocab apps! This app means business. ### 5/5 — Effortless learning *2015-01-07* The kids are augmenting their vocabulary without complaint. Sometimes I will play along with the kids to encourage them to play, and it is great to brush up on words that are useful for adults to integrate into their daily speech. ### 5/5 — This App is great! *2015-01-07* It has all I need to improve my vocabulary and its easy to understand! She is taking the SSAT in a week--I wish I found this sooner!!!--and she really wants to do well. It's a bonus that not only is she studying the words she'll need to know on test day, but also that she's into the app, putting constructive time in, getting more confident and feeling like it's fun. That's worth a few bucks to me--especially the confident part. On my daughter’s iPhone 11, this app doesn’t fit the screen so she couldn’t read the sentences. It also made her phone vibrate the entire time she has the app open. So we tried it on my iPhone 10. Still doesn’t work—we deleted the app from her phone and reinstalled it. Still causes the phantom vibration. If there is a way to stop the vibrating and reformat this app, it would be a useful app. It’s a shame that it’s total crap bc the content seems to be good. ### 1/5 — Only 100 or so words *2019-11-28* It’s good for about 2 hours. By then you have finished all the words. Worse there is overlap between the SSAT and ISEE apps so if you buy both apps you have doubled your costs for less than double the words inventory. In my opinion they are a waste of money. However, it would be a perfect one to build up vocabulary if the app comes up with a more complete list of the words. This app, however, may cover only 200 words or less. This app is fun and works well! We play games with it in the car where my daughter tests us- as a result she sees and hears the definitions and now knows all the words. Please add more words!
