### 2/5 — Good App but a moneygrab

*2024-06-06*

For this that have been using this App for years, we paid 6$ and had full access. Then they removed the cost for a few years and proclaimed they wanted to support free education, but now switch to subscription based. This is such an unfortunate money grab. They should refund those that supported so long ago or Grandfather them into full coverage. The content is good, sad they went this direction.

**Developer response:** With over 40,000 active users around the world, our servers can not sustain the app without subscription. I had two options, either shut down or charge subscription fee to keep it running. The app provides you with newest trials in visual format on almost daily basis. Asking for $30 fee per year just to keep it running is not that high in my opinion.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2023-08-20*

App has become unusable now that it’s implementing subscription services. I had initially paid for the app over a year ago and recently tried to use to to see is a payment plan. A warning of some kind might have been nice. Will try another resource at this point.

### 2/5 — Now a subscription :(

*2023-08-17, version 2.8.15*

Absolutely loved this app until it now has you subscribe. I guess I’ll go back to my hospital’s resources (aka subscriptions I get for free)

### 1/5 — Plans for people who brought the app previously

*2023-08-17*

Hi
I came to know that you have shifted your base to subscription model from prior single time purchase model
I brought the app previously….can i know what are your plans for customers like me
Thank you

### 1/5 — Buggy and poor customer support

*2023-08-15*

Most visual summaries not loading (16.0.3). Issue raised on 09/8/23, no response.

### 1/5 — Why subscription

*2023-08-12, version 2.8.14*

I paid $5.99 for this app 2 years ago, now I’m not be able to use it because of subscriptions. Feel like people who supported your app previously shouldn’t have to pay subscriptions. Do I at least get a refund for this disabled app??

### 1/5 — “Glitch still operative”

*2023-05-18, version 2.8.12*

Just downloaded this to iPad and only cardiology is showing up.

### 5/5 — Makes complex studies accessible to anyone

*2023-04-15, version 2.8.11*

Fantastic app. Makes complex information easily accessible and widely available for free.

### 5/5 — Efficient and Educational

*2023-02-22*

I love this app! It gives quick and efficient information on the latest trails. Highly recommend!

### 1/5 — AI to make graphics and summaries?

*2026-01-19*

Used to enjoy the app but have noticed a gradual decrease in overall graphic quality and number of typos. In the most recent graphics, it is obvious that they are made using Google Gemini image generation. At the very least you would expect the dev to review spelling and accuracy prior to publishing AI generated academic content, especially for a paid service.

**Developer response:** We go through each trial data very carefully. AI has helped with the work flow. Please send us a feedback email via app if you noticed any mistakes or typo. There are thousands of trials from every speciality so we’re trying to make process more efficient. With subscription not only you’re getting access but also getting a new trial update daily.

### 1/5 — Dishonest business practice

*2025-07-01, version 2.8.21*

I paid $6 for this app several years ago and now it’s a hefty subscription model. It should be free for those who paid. I will not be going back and I will definitely not mention or recommend this app to any students or colleagues

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2024-11-09, version 2.8.18*

App has become unusable now that it’s implementing subscription services. I had initially paid for the app over a year ago and recently tried to use to to see is a payment plan. A warning of some kind might have been nice. Will try another resource at this point.

### 1/5 — Was decent, now greedy scam

*2024-10-11*

It was a solid app for information, but has paywalled its content without substantially improving or changing anything. To highlight the level of greed, the app charges a high subscription fee rather than one time charge. There are better apps out there for a small one time charge or for free.

**Developer response:** $25 per year ($2.5 per month) is a pretty reasonable ask if you’re accessing an ever growing library of visual abstracts. Would be happy to learn more about those other free apps that provide you with daily new clinical trial visual summaries :) - feel free not to subscribe but please don’t underestimate the work and capital that goes into maintaining this app. Cheers!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-06-21, version 2.8.16*

Used this was years and was paying the fee. Now all the content that that I paid for is gone . Disappointed. Now the fee is not worth it. Move on to next thing. I would have stayed, if subscription fee was reasonable.

### 1/5 — Greed

*2024-06-19, version 2.8.16*

Another greedy developer has gone subscription. Deleted

### 1/5 — Paywalled

*2024-03-08*

Like others, I used to enjoy this app and paid for it several years ago. Now all the content I “bought” has been paywalled. I would not mind paying a nominal fee but perhaps the developer could offer something to users who have already paid once. Also, when you email him with a question or send app feedback, you don’t get responses.

### 1/5 — Used to be a great free app… now they want the $$$

*2023-11-20*

Used to be an excellent resource during my studies. There are others out there that are free, so I don’t see why they need to start charging. Was a great app while it lasted - if money isn’t a factor it’s worth having.

### 1/5 — Used to be amazing

*2023-10-16, version 2.8.15*

One of the best clinical apps out there until they started charging.

### 5/5 — Review

*2024-08-06*

I don’t usually put a review but this app deserves one. Visualmed has been a great resource for me, As a surgical resident i don’t get alot of time to look at the latest research developments, and maintaining attention to read extensive research papers has always been a tough job for me. Visualmed has made life alot easier for me, i can just glance on the screen, look at the digital poster and get all the useful information an article has to offer. Helped me to stay up to date and always add information during rounds. I will totally recommend both seniors and juniors to use this resource and stay up to date and help save lives! ✌️
